There was one, maybe two customers at most in Merryton, Maria therefore decided that now was as good as time as any to get down a pile of books she stowed on top of one of the high shelves. She couldn't even remember what was in there. She'd gotten them in a charity shop in the next town over and now that customers had taken a few of the resident books home with them, there was room for these to make their debut.

Maria reached for the box, slightly out of reach. She knew she was stretching, she knew she should be more careful, yet common sense seemed to evade her for a moment. The dust from the top of the shelf kicked up and Maria sneezed, the books went tumbling to the floor and a moment later she followed.

Instead of a hard landing and broken bones Maria found herself wrapped in firm arms. Maria stared into the strangers eyes for a moment, shaking her head gently when she thought she saw a change in his eyes.

"Thank you." She breathed, before becoming entirely conscious of the fact she was still, caught, in a strangers arms. Her cheeks flushed and she disentangled herself. "I uhm- thank you, I'm so sorry, I just- how did you?" Maria babbled for a moment before taking a deep breath.

"I'm so sorry, you might have just saved my bones if not my life, thank you Mr?"
