session 1 recap

i Am party notetaker but i think i'm just gonna do this for myself ldhgadsfjghdfj but! we finally finally started today after many months of Scheduling Issues <3 highlights:

our barbarian skip being just. so FUCKING cute i could die. the sole tank among pathetic cringefail squishy guys AND THEY'RE JUST A LITTLE GUYYYYY THEY'RE SO CUTE the art for them has me on my knees weeping

[entering initiative][guys who have only ever watched acoc before: getting a lot of acoc vibes from this!][nah it was just the setup of bend in the road+roadblock+ambush]

our first npc getting hit round ONE and making death saves the rest of the combat

see the thing is the last (first? first And last?) time i played i played a wizard but lav was level 3 so i am. realizing now how fucking pathetic my level 1 baby is... she can't do shit and has seven (7) hit points... good god. i am going to die

aldrich getting attacked bc he failed his vicious mockery like 2 turns in a row and the goblin (and i quote) "thinks you're a weenie"

figuring out that rohan is maybe something of a crybaby? idk i'm soooo new to this and i don't know... how to play... but i've ended up playing her a little more idk delicate/pathetic than i originally intended. i don't mind though she's little and small

the decision our dm offered us re: chasing down that last goblin or making our way into town was neat bc i got to Think it through in character @.@ rohan isn't a coward but she wants desperately to keep her head down & do her job and therefore wants to avoid interactions/skirmishes with criminals of any kind — she kills a dude but cries afterward, clams up when the shopkeep asks what happened to them, takes some convincing to not just. leave gundren to die

on the topic of rohan crying: skip offering her all their money because she's sad and they have no use for it (it's metal :( and the shopkeep doesn't sell cool rocks anyway) absolutely has to be my top 1 moment of today's session that was very very sweet and legitimately surprised me. and i got 10 gold pieces fr so

it's interesting that i think aldrich is fully the most like. Adult? member of the party thus far i do want to watch where his dynamic w rohan goes based on the conversation they had at the end there
