THE SLEEPY MEME:

Name: Marjorie O’Connell. Residence: Upstairs master bedroom in the Crawford Duplexes, Londonderry, Ireland Average hours of sleep: 6 on a good day, 9 on weekends. Type of bed: Soft wingback bed. Amount of blankets: 1 (it’s super warm and cozy all year around). Amount of pillows: 5 (sometimes she cuddles one). Type of clothing: Usually matching fleece or silk pj sets! Do they sleep with company?: Besides her bear, nobody sleeps with her. Do they sleep with plushies?: Yes. Marjorie has a ton of plushies, but the ones she’s attached to, and sleeps with every single night is her (limited edition) Stieff Sooty bear. Do they sleep better with company?: It depends. When she was younger, she slept better with her father because they had a stronger bond than with her mother (and she felt safer with him around), but she’s also had friends sleep with her as long as they don’t bounce on the bed--- it doesn’t affect her sleep if they don’t do that.  Does it matter where they sleep?: Marjorie prefers her bed because it’s very comfy, but she is prone to having fallen asleep in her father’s recliner. Frequent dreams, nightmares?: Unless stressed, Marjorie will wake up in the middle of the night from a nightmare, otherwise her dreams are usually normal and can sleep well. What do they do if they cannot fall asleep?: It’s rare, but she does have things that will help her sleep. She likes to read Murder She Wrote (by Donald Bain) novels, or go downstairs to have a cup of tea and chat with whomever is awake downstairs. And if nobody is awake, she’ll just put on the telly. Deep slumber or naps?: Both. When do they wake up?: 7am on days with classes, 10am on weekends.  When do they sleep?: 1am is the latest she’ll stay up, even when studying. Anything later than that, she’ll be unmotivated and tired the next day. What could wake them up?: If the light goes on throughout the night, or if a friend is over and they’re making the bed bounce. Plus, her bed is right above the kitchen, so she’s prone to hearing breakfast being made with pots and pans, and through the vents she can hear them, it’ll definitely wake her up. Otherwise, she’s a deep sleeper.
