Revenge of the hero and the goddess

This is the first part of the novel I am writing. I hope you like it.

Prologue:

In the Demon King's castle...

After a fierce fight, swords clashing between the two, with clear intentions of killing the other, finally, I finished off the evil demon king.

-I did it. I killed the Demon King...-I said with my sword thrust into his chest.

*Bluagh* -Haha...stupid hero...-said that ruler while spitting blood- -Is it worth all this fighting...for those...dirty humans...?

-Of course it's worth it. You have killed dozens of humans in your name..." I said.

-And didn't you do the same with the demons," he said as he looked at me.

That look did not reflect anger or rage against me, but pity and pity.

-W-well...that doesn't matter anymore...hero...You accomplished your mission...I just hope you don't regret...for this, herooooooooo........- said that ruler exhaling her last breath.

The moment I pulled my sword out of her chest, a light enveloped the whole place, leaving me momentarily blinded. I could hear certain words in a strange language coming out of that luminous cloud. After those words were finished, the luminous cloud vanished and the Demon King's body disappeared.

Although I was surprised with all this, I did not stop thinking about his words.

-Hero Elliot," said the princess as the soldiers who accompanied me on this journey entered.

-Princess, don't run, be careful," said the head of the imperial army.

At the same time, my comrades were entering the throne room.

-What about the Demon King," asked the army commander.

-I killed her. Now the world will be at peace.

At my words, there was an uproar among the imperial soldiers. Finally, the Demon King was dead.

As I was about to approach my comrades to celebrate with them, the imperial army surrounded me and pointed their swords at me.

-What is the meaning of this?" I said in surprise.

There was a resounding silence.

-Fufufu, you really are a stupid hero, aren't you Elliot," said the princess with a tender smile.

-What..." I said all astonished.

-It seems that your services as a hero of the empire are coming to an end," said the princess.

-What are you talking about," I said, trying to get closer to her.

-Guards!" said the chief of the army, "Don't let this dirty traitor of the empire pass!

-I said as I looked at those soldiers who fought with me on the battlefield.

-You still don't get it, hero Elliot," said the princess with a sadistic smile, "You were just a mere tool for the empire's purposes. And since the Demon King is gone, the only threat to the empire... is you...".

Seeing her smile like that, I got scared. I tried to look at my friends, the heroes of the empire, but I only noticed a smile from ear to ear in front of my misfortune. Those heroes I considered friends were laughing at my misfortune.

-Did I make myself clear to you, stupid hero Elliot, or do you want me to repeat it again," said the princess with a mocking tone.

Seeing that my friends had abandoned me, I used [Teleport] to get out of here.

-That magic...quick, imperial sorcerer, stop him before he escapes," said the head of the army.

-No need," said the first princess as she looked at the door to the throne room, "Come in.

A woman; of simple appearance but with good facial features, entered the throne room.

The instant I noticed her presence, I couldn't help but let out a tear.

-Why are you here? ...... !

That girl; who was the person I trusted the most in this world, broke the necklace that stored the powers that were given to me by the gods, making me useless in the use of magic.

Unable to use my magic, the soldiers knocked me to the ground.

Trying to get up, I could notice how the princess handed that woman four full bags of gold.

-Take it and get out," said the princess.

She grabbed those bags and, in an act of mockery, smiled tenderly at me and then gave me a sordid smile, then left the place.

-You see, even your childhood friend, whom you trusted so much, betrayed you," said the princess.

Despite that betrayal, I put up resistance in front of the soldiers.

-Ohh...I see you still haven't broken. This makes it more interesting..." said the princess while licking her lips.

With a signal, the head of the army knocked me out. I woke up in the capital's prison, cruelly tortured to submit to the imperial family, but I resisted and, in retaliation, they threatened to destroy everything I valued. Still I did not submit, having faith that the gods would see this cruel scene. After that, they knocked me out again.

The moment I awoke, I found myself in the main square of the capital of the empire, tied to a cross. At that place, the whole population started shouting to kill me.

-Kill the traitor!

-Die once and for all!

Those people that I had once promised to protect with my life, now wanted me dead. All I could see was the sadistic laughter on their faces as if my death was the only thing they were waiting for.

-Did you see that, hero," said the princess as she climbed the stairs to the square, "The people you swore to protect so much now want you dead," she said as she looked at the citizens.

-We are gathered here today to execute this "traitor" of the empire, the hero Elliot. His very existence alone harms the entire imperial family and its empire. So, by direct order of the emperor, the hero Elliot is sentenced to death," said the first princess to the entire population.

In response, the people shouted that they were in favor of my death.

-Hahahahahaha, you see? Those simple people don't care about you at all.

-I still have allies. And you know it," I said challenging her.

-Ohh... you mean the gods, don't you?" said the princess presumptuously.

-Yes. They will see all this injustice and then...".

Before she finished speaking, a light emerged from the heavens and descended upon the earth itself. Once the light dissipated, the six divinities of this world emerged. At this, everyone around me bowed to them.

I was very happy to see them. I knew that they would help me in the face of such a cruel act towards me.

The gods were approaching the square where he was crucified.

-Gods, please help me," I said, "I was set up!

However, to my misfortune, all I received from the gods was a look of disgust and contempt from them. As if they saw a monster.

-Gods...?

-Shut up, you filthy mortal," said the queen of the gods.

-Goddess Rhea... What is she...?

-She said shut up," said the god of war, punching me in the stomach.

-Ahhhh ....!

While the others were still kneeling, I could hear their laughter amidst all this hubbub, savoring all this suffering.

-After we trusted you, you dare to betray us, the gods of this world," said the king of the gods, punching me in the stomach.

-T-betrayal...? I would never...

-Shut up, you dirty traitor," said the God of War, hitting me again.

-We should not have trusted you, not in the least! You damned mortal!" said the goddess of wisdom, carving me in the face.

While those three gods insulted and beat me, I tried to look at the goddess of Love so she could intervene in this, but all I received was a cold smile while she shook her head negatively.

After receiving several blows from the god of war, the queen of the gods approached me.

-How could you do this to us? I so much with...

There was silence from her. I noticed how a small magic circle was on her necklace, while she was still silent.

Quickly, the king of the gods approached and grabbing her by the hand, he took her to the other gods.

-First princess," said the king of the gods.

-Yes.

-Go on with the execution!

-At once," said the princess, standing up and motioning to the chief of the army to come forward.

Immediately, the chief of the army took an axe and began to make cuts, not so deep, all over my body. In response, I began to scream in agony and pain, despite this, the gods did nothing, they just stared at me.

When those cuts were finished, the gods ordered him to get away from there.

-W-w-why...?...What...was it that I did...to deserve this...?" I said as I let out some tears.

At that instant, the king of the gods stood in front of me.

-To exist, Elliot. That was your great sin against the gods... Your great betrayal was to exist...".

In that instant, I began to cry.

-Pathetic mortal," said the goddess of wisdom, "We should weep for trusting the person who would bring the destruction of the gods.

At that instant, my tears stopped.

-What...?

The king of the gods, all enraged, grabbed me by the neck.

-That's right, stupid mortal. The mere fact of trusting you was what almost condemned the government of the gods. But thanks to the death of that stupid, meddling Demon King, it was revealed to us.

-I... don't... understand...

At that instant, I received a punch in the stomach from the king of the gods.

-Besides being insignificant, you are also stupid," he said as he made a magic circle appear, "Let me show you what you will cause.

At that instant, that magic circle projected an image that left me astonished. In that magical projection, I appeared with a macabre smile while my sword dripped blood with the bodies of the gods on the ground, while the world was in chaos.

At this, I froze; I did not know how to react. But I could notice another presence who also had blood on his hands and, with a sadistic laugh, he approached me to hug me and laugh with me.

-See! That is what you are going to cause," said the king of the gods, "You will only bring chaos and destruction to this world. But, we gods will not allow you, a filthy and disgusting mortal, to bring misfortune to us and to our world," he said with deep anger in his eyes, "Burn him to ashes," commanded the king of the gods.

Immediately, the god of magic created a magic circle and a black fire began to appear.

-You will burn in the flames of this cursed fire for all eternity, you filthy traitor of the gods," said the wizard god.

After he finished reciting his magic, that cursed fire began to envelop me and I felt an inexplicable pain throughout my body. I didn't feel like I was burning, but I felt blows in my brain that constantly shouted and insulted me, while showing me how I was dying in a thousand possible ways.

Even with all that pain on top of me, my senses were still working and I could hear a prayer that I wished I had not heard.

-Oh, King of the gods, I, the first princess of the Demioriel empire, offer this as a humble gesture to you," he said as he ordered his soldiers to bring three trays of gold.

Upon opening them, the king of the gods laughed out loud, in a very sinister manner.

-You have my total gratitude," he said to the princess as she bowed and withdrew.

At that instant, the king of the gods ordered that those three trays be shown to me.

Horror was what I felt when I saw him.

-Hahahaha, these mortals are useful when necessary," said the king of the gods as he looked at me with that sadistic laugh.

They were the heads of my mother and my sisters, on each tray. Their heads had had their eyes gouged out and, in a forced way, they had a smile on their faces.

I began to scream and cry as the constant blows to my head continued. I screamed with all the strength I had, until I spat blood in my mouth. And all they did was laugh.

-Haha, he finally went crazy," said the king of the gods, "But you are not the only traitor here, you know," he said with a certain mockery.

Faced with this fact, I just started to listen to what he was going to say.

-That's right, mortals, the hero is not the only one who betrayed the trust of the gods," he said.

The god of war brought in the middle of the square the queen of the gods, Dea.

-Do it," said the king of the gods.

At that moment, the god magician deactivated a magic circle. At that instant, Dea's appearance began to change; from how groomed and presented she was, she was now chained at both hands and feet.

Everyone was surprised by this, including me.

-My husband, listen to me, I would never...!

-Silence," said the king of the gods, slapping Dea and knocking her to the ground.

-Why are you doing this, Sucellus?" said Dea trying to see a gesture of compassion in his eyes.

Sucellus glared at her.

-Why am I doing this, you say," he said as he came closer to see her, "Because you will bring destruction to the gods," said the god, leaving Dea surprised by his words.

-What? It's impossible," said Dea.

-Show him, Danu," said Sucellus.

-Yes, father," said Danu as he took his crystal ball out of his dimensional storage.

Danu uttered a few words in a language unknown to me and, having finished speaking, the crystal ball began to glow and project an image.

-When the Demon King died, that filthy existence used her own soul to prophesy about the future of this world and..." he said as the light from the ball faded away.

With all the pain in my body and mind, I could see that prophetic image.

-The Hero and the Queen of the Gods would wipe out the whole world and kill the gods themselves," Danu shouted.

Clear as water, I saw how I was smiling sadistically with my bloody sword while the bodies of the gods were lying on the ground, while Dea was standing with her bloody hands laughing at all this massacre. I didn't know what to do; anger, rage, fear and frustration polluted my mind.

-I would never do that! I would never kill my own children," Dea shouted in fear.

-SHUT UP!" said Danu slapping her.

-D-Danu... daughter...

-And you dare to call me daughter after seeing that?" said Danu with fury in her eyes.

D-there must be a mistake...I-th-th-that's...it's a mistake...- said Dea trying to find some explanation for this.

-Mistake?" said Danu grabbing her by the hair, "There is no mistake, mother. I am the goddess of wisdom and prophecy, I know when a prophecy is real and this one is!

In fear, Dea tried to look at her children; the god of war and the goddess of love.

-Don't look at me, you dirty traitor," Ausilux told her.

-A-ausilux...my son...please believe me...your sister will surely con...".

Before he could even finish, Ausilux punched him in the stomach.

-Ahhhhh....-

-My sister doesn't make mistakes ever. You must know that very well, don't you, you dirty traitor?

With pain and fear together all over her body. Dea tried to look at her youngest daughter, hoping to find compassion in her.

Aine, the goddess of love, approached where her dying mother lay.

-Aina... daughter... you must believe me... I...

-Shhhhhh ....-she said putting her fingers on her lips, "I can't believe in the words of a traitor, can I, mother," said Aina while smiling tenderly.

-H-daughter...?

-I'm sorry, mother. It's just that you're a traitor and...I can't trust you anymore," said Aina, leaving her mother in a state of sadness.

Seeing that her whole family had abandoned her, Dea began to cry.

-Besides..." said Aina mockingly, "Traitors must be killed, right, Father?" said Aina while looking at Dea with a sordid smile.

-It is true, Aina," said Sucellus as he looked at the entire population.

-Mortals, today, by command of the gods, I, Sucellus, king of the gods, order that the goddess Dea and the hero Elliot, are condemned to the worst punishment a being can bear, the destruction of all their roots," he said as he drew the sacred sword Haliopexius.

Dea felt fear and horror at the sight of that sword, as I did. That sword can destroy all your roots, even those of a god, and if it were to destroy them, it would simply be over, your soul would begin to be destroyed and you would fall into the very darkness of nothingness.

-Dagda, turn it off.

-Yes," said the wizard god, undoing the black fire that covered me.

-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SUCELLUS, YOU CAN'T DO THIS! THIS IS WRONG!" cried Dea in panic.

-Ausilux, hold it.

-Yes.

-NOOOOOOO! SON! DON'T DO IT!" he said as he crawled on the ground.

Ausilux grabbed Dea's leg and pulled her to him. He lifted her up and grabbed her arms.

-Danu, grab her other arm.

-Yes.

-STOP, SON! THIS IS A MISTAKE! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! I'M YOUR MOTHER, AUSILUX! STOP, PLEASE!

Without hesitation, Ausilux and Danu paid no attention to their mother's pleas.

With both arms held by their eldest sons, Dea was immobilized.

Sucellus grasped the sword Haliopexius and, concentrating all his divine power, sheathed it in the sword.

-I, Sucellus, king of the gods, decree that Dea, the fallen goddess, shall disappear from the face of this world for all eternity and her cult with it! Die, you filthy traitor!

-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SUCELLUS, STOP!

Without hesitation, Sucellus thrust the Haliopexius sword into Dea's stomach, piercing her through and through.

Dea spat blood as she saw how the Haliopexius sword; which she forged for the benefit of the gods, was taking her life.

With the sword in his hand, Sucellus pushed the sword further, causing Dea to scream more in pain. As he did so, Sucellus leaned closer to Dea's ear, whispering something to her.

When she heard that, she began to cry; as if something unimaginable was revealed to her.

The instant she cried, Sucellus pulled the sword out of her stomach, causing Dea to expel more blood than before; both from the hole in her stomach and from her mouth.

As she bled out on the ground; with her hands and feet bound, a light began to shine over the hole left by the sword and an indescribable pain began to be felt by Dea.

-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" cried Dea as she cried.

It was her roots breaking, one by one, generating that excruciating pain; even for a mortal.

As Dea screams in agony, the other gods looked down on her; waiting for her to die. Dea saw that look of contempt in the eyes of those who were once her family, leaving her completely devastated.

With this gesture, Sucellus walked in the direction where he was crucified; passing by Dea's dying body.

-Why...what...god Sucellus...? She was his wife...the mother of his children...-I said with the wounds still open from the axe cut.

-That woman is no longer my wife. She's just a dirty traitor, just like you.

Seeing Dea's body; she was still alive but with the pain of her roots, I remembered that; of all the gods, she was the kindest of all, treating me as an equal. It was too unfair for her to be punished for an act she did not commit.

Noticing my gaze on Dea, Sucellus leaned close to my ear.

-She was but a tool I used to achieve ultimate power, as you were to all these mortals. I never saw her as an equal, not even her children. All the gods agree that Dea's time had to end, we just needed a pretext. And that pretext came," said Sucellus.

As he revealed this to me, I understood the true intentions of all the gods. I saw how Sucellus looked at me with a sadistic smile, as if he enjoyed telling me this. Seeing my face of despair, Sucellus turned away from me and stood in the middle of the square.

-Now, the hero Elliot will have the same fate as the fallen goddess Dea, death!

All the citizens shouted for him to die.

-Die, fallen hero!

-Dirty traitor of the gods and the empire!

Those shouts, together with the laughter of the whole imperial family, began to eat me up inside. 

In the same way with Dea, Sucellus infused his divine power into the sword Haliopexius. 

Seeing all this, made something break inside of me little by little....

-Die!" said Sucellus.

With all his might as a god, he thrust the sword against me, piercing me and the cross as well.

I felt no pain. I only felt how "it" broke completely. And I started to laugh...

-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Everyone was shocked at my laughter, including Sucellus.

-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR ALL THE SINS YOU COMMITTED! YOU FILTHY TRAITORS! I WILL MAKE YOU SUFFER LIKE YOU NEVER SUFFERED BEFORE IN YOUR FILTHY LIFE! EVERY ONE OF YOU WILL PAY FOR ALL OF THIS! I WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING! I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I SEE YOU BEGGING FOR MERCY! YOU WILL FEEL THE PAIN OF ALL HELL ITSELF!

-Shut up!" said Sucellus, thrusting his sword deeper into me.

At this, I pulled his neck so he could look me in the eye.

-YOU WILL REGRET HAVING DONE ALL THIS, STUPID GOD! EACH OF THE GODS WILL REGRET HAVING BETRAYED YOU! I WILL KILL YOU ALL AND BATHE IN YOUR OWN BLOOD! THERE WILL BE NO ONE TO ESCAPE MY REVENGE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

With some trepidation, Sucellus pulled the sword out of my body, leaving me bleeding on the cross.

-How dare you threaten the gods themselves, foul mortal! It matters not. You will simply be rotting in the darkness of the void just like her," said Sucellus. 

Accomplishing his task, the gods gathered together and, reciting a magic circle, a light enveloped them, until they disappeared.

After this, the first princess ordered another cross to be placed for Dea.

They drove nails into our hands and feet and set us on fire.

-I WILL COME BACK FROM HELL ITSELF TO TAKE REVENGE ON EACH ONE OF YOU! EVERYONE WILL TREMBLE WITH FEAR AT MY RETURN! I WILL KILL THEM! I WILL DEFINITELY KILL THEM!

As she screamed, Dea was crying while still dripping blood from the hole in her stomach.

-Dea, THIS IS NO TIME TO CRY! WE WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR WHAT THEY DID THIS DAY! BOTH THE GODS AND THESE THUGS OF HUMANS WILL PAY FOR BETRAYING YOU! YOU HAVE TO TAKE REVENGE ON THEM! DEAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" I shouted to get her to react from that trance.

At that moment, Dea reacted and smiled sadistically.

-YOU'RE RIGHT, ELLIOT! I WILL TAKE REVENGE ON EVERY ONE OF THOSE GODS WHO DARED TO BETRAY ME! I WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR THEIR BETRAYAL! I WILL BRING DESTRUCTION TO THIS WORLD! THEY WILL REGRET THEIR BETRAYAL! I SWEAR IT! I CURSE THIS WORLD! CURSE THEM ALL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hahaha, that's what I wanted to hear.

-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THIS WHOLE WORLD WILL SUCCUMB TO US! WE WILL BRING SO MUCH DESTRUCTION THAT THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT OF THIS WORLD! THE IMPERIAL FAMILY, EVERYONE! THEY WILL DIE!

As we shouted cursing everyone, a light enveloped me and Dea. 

-MY DEATH WILL NOT STOP ME! I WILL RETURN FROM HELL ITSELF AND I WILL TAKE REVENGE ON EVERY ONE OF YOU!

-ALL THOSE GODS WILL PAY FOR THIS! I WILL FINALLY KILL YOU! I WILL KILL EVERY ONE OF THEM!" cried Dea.

At that instant, we were both consumed by a light and disappeared. Our roots had already exploded.

Once dead nothing can be done, right?...But death simply won't stop me...I promised I would take revenge and so I will...I will come out of the darkness itself and take revenge on all of them...I will make them suffer in the worst possible way.... They will regret having betrayed me...My path of revenge will be bloody...There will be no compassion...Only revenge...So, let's go...Let's make this revenge, the most bloody and cruel of all...There will be no one to escape...isn't it, Dea?...
