okay but imagine jope but they were born as kooks. alternate universe where the history of denmark tanny was known, and the treasure was given to the living relatives, and pope's family are the most well known and richest kooks in outerbanks. jj maybank hasn't always been a kook. after luke maybank sobered up, and bettered himself, he ended up making good money and he earned enough to make an investment that ended up skyrocketing and making the maybanks rich beyond belief. and they knew one thing, they wanted their son to have the best education, to go to the boarding school most kooks go to.

pope and jj have met before when they went to public school together. they even were friends, despite their status. but most kooks, by the time they finished elementary school and started junior high, they were sent to private school. and so pope and jj ended up distancing. with the loss of each other, they had to make new friends, which wasn't easy for both of them. but eventually they did, and unfortunately they weren't in contact like they once were, but they still texted here and there. even one summer they texted so much that they decided they should call one another. it was a good summer, until it ended, and the texted slowed down again.

when jj's family ended up getting money from luke investing it, his parents decided jj should go to boarding school so that he could get the amazing opportunities that others in outerbanks had. and to pope's surprise, the first day of junior year, seeing one another once again was a surprise. the two of them had awkward exchanges at first, but it was clear, the two of them missed each other. even if things were awkward, jj couldn't help the flirting. and it was clear that pope could feel all sort of feelings whenever they were close. but how long will it take for one of them to finally admit that there has been something between them for years ??
