omg this wasn’t supposed to be so long but i got carried away, oops. and,, can i just say how much i loved writing this??? i tried to show a bit of jae’s lowkey intimidating badass side, even though he’s one big softie — especially when it comes to his man, bc he probably just wanted to give him like three thousand smooches :(( anyway!!! time to bond with ji’s dads, y’all!!! sorry, i know i’m not funny at all, but i tried skjsdks

It all had started when one of the ladies from youth group invited him to the church’s annual camping trip, and Jae said he would consider it. To be fair, it didn’t seem like a bad idea at the time, but of course, he only agreed to go after he made sure Minho would be there too. So, long story short, that was how he had found himself in the middle of nowhere, being bitten by a thousand mosquitoes and without enough phone signal to bitch about it on twitter. “Come camping with us, Kyungjae! It’s gonna be fun, they said.” He murmured as he looked around, just to make sure no one would see him lighting a cigarette. Minho was busy doing who knew what, and Jae wasn’t in the mood to hang out with the rest of the loser kids from the group, especially since the religious brainwash had started working on some of them — which usually meant being judged by a bunch of annoying know-it-all teenagers. Jae certainly didn’t have time for that kind of nonsense.

It wasn’t until about 10 minutes later that he heard the sound of someone’s steps getting closer to his hiding spot, so he quickly got rid of the rest of his second cigarette hoping it wouldn’t be someone ready to lecture him — Minho’s mom, for example. “I was wandering around and I got– oh, it’s you.” His mouth curved into a smile as soon as he saw Minho approaching him, and he tried his best not to look disappointed by the presence of two young boys following him, but he knew he didn’t do a good job when they quickly looked down as soon as he tried to make eye contact. Goodbye to another opportunity of shameless flirting with his man. “What’s up? Were you guys missing me? It’s okay, I get it. I’m the life of the party.” He joked and winked at Minho, ignoring the boys until one of them decided to open his mouth. Surprise, surprise. Of course these people would always assume the worst when it came to him. And why wouldn’t they? He was nothing but the problematic guy with the fucked up parents and the messy life, the same bastard that didn’t think twice before questioning everything they told him about their Lord and savior. Not surprising at all. “Come again?“ He wasn’t necessarily offended by it, but he still crossed his arms over his chest and raised an eyebrow, listening to the kid’s poor attempt at an explanation for what he had said. “You thought I had left. Yeah, because that makes so much sense, right?” A chuckle escaped his lips, and he shook his head in disbelief. “That’s fuckin’ bullshit, and you guys know it. Put those brain cells to work, yeah? I couldn’t have done that even if I wanted to.” One more eye roll and both kids excused themselves, finally leaving him alone with Minho.

“You know, when I told you where to find me, I didn’t mean you could bring some little douchebags with you. What if I wanted to kiss you, huh?” He asked, hoping he could have a few more minutes with him — even if he knew it was literally impossible. "Let’s go. Before dumb and dumber open their mouths.” He didn’t wait for Minho to say anything before he started walking in the direction of the field where they had built the tents. He just didn’t want to cause any more trouble or be the cause of Minho’s worry. He knew the other sometimes worried about what his mother would think if he spent too much time with the town’s black sheep. To be honest, Jae hated that stupid stereotype, but there wasn’t anything he could do for Minho other than try and help with small things like that. He just wanted him to be happy, nothing else. “What wonderful group activity have you guys planned for today?” He tried to make small talk, trying to distract him from whatever could be on his mind.

It had been a few weeks since Jae had discovered that Minho’s voice had the most soothing effect on him, so he was always looking forward to listening to him when he talked, no matter what the topic was. On top of that, he always told him the most interesting things, and Jae literally couldn’t help but fall for him even deeper each time. And maybe that was the reason why he had never expected him to say something so dumb and weird, at least when it was coming from him. “Minho, what the fuck?” He managed to say — right before he started laughing so hard he actually had to stop walking. It wasn’t even that funny to begin with, but he still thought it was the most hilarious thing he had ever heard in his entire life. Perhaps he was one hell of a whipped man, and what about it? “I don’t think Jesus would want to bond with me, but you know what? I don’t fuckin’ need Jesus. Not when I already have you.”

And that’s part of the reason why sometimes I feel like I’m making things even more difficult for you.” He confessed, keeping his eyes trained on his little brother playing with some kids in a tiny sandbox. His parents had disappeared again, so Jae had been taking care of him for a few days. “Life works in mysterious ways, Minho. Don’t you think?” They weren’t supposed to see each other until the weekend, but there they were, sitting side by side in the park having a normal conversation. And it was a weird contrast between Minho’s formal clothes and his ripped jeans and plain white shirt, but it didn’t seem to matter. “I’d like to think everything happens for a reason, you know? Maybe it wasn’t just a coincidence. And I know things are a bit fucked up right now, but I don’t regret meeting you. I could never.” He offered him a smile and looked down at the bench they were sitting on — more specifically, the place where their hands were almost touching. So close, yet so out of reach. “Anyway, I should head back home ‘cause I need to make dinner for the little rascal. But seriously, call me later. If you want. If you feel like it.” He mumbled, standing up and calling his brother’s name to let him know they were leaving. Damn, this was awkward. “I’ll see you on Saturday, Minho.”

i got carried away again and,, long story short this is one of the worst messes i have ever written, but i kinda love it !!!

jae loved his friends more than anything, really, but he couldn’t deny there were moments when he just wanted to tell them to fuck off – especially when min and ji started bragging about their very active sex life in front of him, knowing he hadn’t slept with his boyfriend in what felt like forever. “500 times a day?” he questioned, rolling his eyes at them when min nodded and said he was literally exhausted. “hmm, i think i’m gonna try and convince minho to join this trend,” he said, acting like he was actually considering it. “maybe we’ll beat your record, who knows?”

people often wondered how he put up with them, and jae always told them the same thing: it’s simple, make sure everything you tell them sounds like a challenge and they’ll leave you alone for a while.

“leaving already, kiddos?” he asked, observing them as min tried to be subtle with the looks he was giving ji. so yeah, getting rid of them had been a lot easier than expected. classic dumb & dumber to fall for those simple tricks. “alright, have a great night and text me when you get home!”

but of course, they were too busy whispering to each other and giggling like fools to even pay attention, so jae just sighed and locked the front door. “finally alone,” he said to himself, smirking as he started unbuttoning his shirt and walked down the corridor that led to the main bedroom. “babe? good news, the kids are gone!”

minho had been busy for a while, probably working on a new song, so jae wasn’t expecting to find their room in complete darkness. “where are you hiding, love? are you in bed?” he asked, making sure to be extra careful as he sat down on their king size bed, just in case his boyfriend was asleep. but no, he wasn’t there – and the tiny silhouette standing in front of their door confirmed it.

“what the…? oh my– angel, what the–” he couldn’t even put his shock into words. minho –his minho– was wearing a minion costume, and jae sure as hell wasn’t about to say it out loud, but he thought his boyfriend looked cute as fuck. a bit ridiculous too, but that didn’t matter. “who are you and what have you done to my minho?” he murmured, never taking his eyes off him. “i’m not gonna lie, it really makes me wish i had my camera with me ‘cause this is pure gold, but it’s not your cute outfit that turns me on...” he said with a confident smirk, shrugging his own shirt off. “it’s the fact that i know you can’t wait to take it all off. and you know what? same here.”
