RUMOR HAS IT ; THE COMPANY LEAK

❝ RUMOR HAS IT is the name coined for the era of the unknown takeover of HANGMAN’s Twitter account. On the one-year anniversary of the group’s debut their collective Twitter was hacked by someone who called themself ‘THE DEALER’. They created a website that has all of the HANGMAN members secrets and scandals that they tried to cover up years before. Some are interconnected while others are solely about one member.

The group had debuted collectively on JANUARY 23RD in 2020. The group had a relatively successful debut releasing three mini albums and one full album. It wasn’t until their one-year anniversary that WATCHERS noticed something was strange about their Twitter. To this day new information is being leaked and events are being covered up. WATCHERS and other group fandoms are extremely invested in this ongoing era.

❝ Back in MID-DECEMBER of 2017, the parents of PARK HAEWON had called the KNPA, Korean National Police Agency, about their worries of their 19-year old daughter, PARK HAEWON. They stated that she had not reached out to them or answered their calls and were starting to worry about where she was and what happened to her as she had not come home for winter vacation. She is a student at RED TEAR ACADEMY and did not show up to her classes in the beginning of March which is the start of the first semester of the year. As of MARCH 22ND, 2018, a small-scaled investigation has been started but there has been no new information made available at this time. ❞

[🔎]: Do you remember where you were and what you were doing on those days.

[🐣]: On the 16th I was shopping with MEEYON, and on the 17th I worked a shift at DEAD AIR; a coworker called out sick and no one else was available that night.

[The younger girl was caught off guard.]

[🐣]: I don’t know...whatever it was, she didn’t deserve it...

[🔎]: Why’s that? According to your other friends she wasn’t the nicest person.

[🐣]: I mean, she had her issues and not everyone liked her but that doesn’t mean something like this should have happened to her...

[🐣]: She used to hang out with people who lived in the GOLDEN LOTUS DISTRICT. Her parents are wealthy professor and lawyer so she grew up there. I’d see her a lot with some people at DEAD AIR but I don’t know who they are.

[🎨]: No, It was usually just me, DAEWON, and HEEYOUNG. I’m just also close to HACHIRO and MIWA. We all grew up together. 

[🔎]: So you would know about a relationship between one of them and HAEWON?

[His face shows visible confusion.]

[🎨]: Relationship? [He shakes his head.] None of us had relationships like that with her. 

[🔎]: No? What about HACHIRO and HAEWON?

[🎨]: He didn’t like her like that.

[🔎]: Did he hate her? Another one of you said they saw the two of them having a ‘colorful’ conversation. 

[🎨]: I mean, a few of us didn’t like her. 

[🔎]: Did you ever hang out with her as just the two of you?

[🎨]: Not really, the only time that happened was when we would have projects together. Even then, we didn’t talk much.

[🔎]: Did her disappearance upset you in any way?

[🎨]: I didn’t know about it until DAEWON said something. He heard about it on the news a few weeks after it apparently happened. An investigation was being opened and that was the only thing they were talking about on the broadcasts.

[🎨]: Um, on the 16TH I was at CHERRY BLOSSOM doing some writing.

[He stated the time as more of a question.]

[🔎]: Okay. [pauses.] Would you say your group of friends are close? That you would do anything for each other?

[🎨]: Most of us yeah, not all of us are as close as many people think...

[🎵]: Yes! I was practicing a piece at RED TEAR ACADEMY’S music room on the 16TH!

[🎵]: The 17TH I spent the majority of the day at ARCADE ESCAPE. They just installed three new games so I wanted to try them out. 

[🔎]: Are there people that could back up your claims of being there?

[She thought for a minute.]

[🎵]: Uh...A few other people were there at the arcade too but I was alone for the 16TH, I actually wasn’t supposed to be there since it was after school hours but as half of student president I have keys to the school. 

[🔎]: Half student president?

[There was a slight change of tone when she spoke.]

[🎵]: I share it with MIN JUNGHEE. We both tied so were both student president. 

[🔎]: So as student president you would be close to a lot of other classmates?

[🎵]: Possibly. Depends if they’re really interested in their academics and the Academy.

[🔎]: PARK HAEWON was a part of the student council weren’t they?

[She glances to the side.]

[🎵]: She was. 

[🔎]: Was? Past tense, meaning she isn’t anymore?

[🎵]: [Exhales.] She was removed due to a conflict she had with other council members. 

[🔎]: Were you glad she was gone?

[🎵]: Of course not! She was a friend, we still talked even after she was removed.

[🎵]: I-I mean…there were a few people who didn’t like her, she sometimes caused drama–

[🎵]: Sometimes. But we all usually fell victim to her wrath…except BAEKHYUN, they dated at one point so he usually got a pass.

[🎵]: [she sighs exasperatedly.] Umm…I’ve only heard about a few of them from HIRO.

[🎵]: But I don’t really remember a lot of the stories…

[🦋]: “Sure, they’re more like my followers though. But everyone wants to be my friend. That’s what comes with being popular.”

[🦋]: “Of course we are. We all went to school together somehow and share mutual friends.” [She smiles.]

🏷 KETSUKI EXPRESS [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [Typically to get on and off the subway at this station, you need a specific badge to scan at the card readers. This was implemented to allow the individuals living here their safety.]

As one of the biggest shopping districts, some days the center used appointments during certain holidays. They are always up to date with newest fashion threads and have plenty of sales often.]  [If you’re looking for THE NARCISSIST, here is where she would be. She’ll be looking for the newest fashion accessory or makeup line to test and to see herself on the front pages of magazines or photoshoots in stores.] 

🏷 DEAD AIR [OPERATION TIMES: MON - FRI ; 10AM - 7PM / 12PM - 10PM] [DEAD AIR is a mix of a music / instrument shop and a radio station. Additionally, they do repairs and consultations for a moderate price. Occasionally, THE NEW KID would also be found here as well giving out great recommendations to anyone asking.]

🏷 ARIRANG SUPERMARKET [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 8:30AM - 9PM] [One of the few supermarkets that everyone shops at. They have great weekly sales with an ever changing variety of foods. Additionally, some recipes may be available with ready to go / ‘pre prepped’ meals if people want to try something new.]

🏷 BLANK CANVAS [OPERATION TIMES: TUES , THURS - SAT ; 10AM - 4PM , 10AM - 8PM] [Before the fire, BLANK CANVAS was a well-known art museum that hosted many gallery parties to commemorate the artistic passion of its youth and other artists.] [If you are looking for THE WHITE RABBIT, he would be found here talking about various painting styles and the history of the arts. He works there as a tour guide, giving tours of the building and providing some history and his own point of view interpretation of the paintings.]

It used to be open 7 days a week but due to financial issues and it not bringing in as much money as it used it it changed to four days.] [If you want to find THE FILMMAKER, THE MOVIE HOUSE is where he’ll be. On occasions he’ll be able to play his own films he’s made as long as they are following a certain guideline.]

🏷 ARCADE ESCAPE [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 11AM - 7PM / 12PM - 10PM] [If you’re looking for the newest games and consoles, the ARCADE ESCAPE is the place to go! This building actually is the back half as a duo business building with VHS. There was also a bowling alley that was apart of the building but the maintenance was never kept up with so they shut it down; some kids still sneak in there to hangout.] [If you were looking for THE HEARTBREAK KID and THE ROMANTIC, the ARCADE ESCAPE is where they’ll be. The two are often overheard joking around with each other and trying to outsmart one another to get the highest score.]

🏷 VHS [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 9AM - 9PM / 11AM - 8PM] [The city’s version of a BLOCKBUSTER. The building is a video rental store that also offers the renting of video/filming equipment. This building is the front half of a duo business building with ARCADE ESCAPE.] [If you were looking for THE DREAMER, here is where you’ll find her. She’d often be here looking for new movies that could take her someplace else in her mind / imagination than SKULL VALLEY.]

🏷 LATE NITE EXPRESS [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [This subway station is probably the most used out of all the stations. It’s used to get to and from one of the most populated areas due to the shopping centers and varying businesses available. Oftentimes it can become extremely crowded or overflowing with people.]

📍 THE SEJONG DISTRICT [PRICE RANGE: $ - $$] [The street section where more cheaper apartments can be found. For people living on a budget, this district is where you can find affordable housing and services at a lower price.]

🏷 KYOYATA APARTMENTS [CURFEW: MON - FRI ; MUST BE INSIDE FROM 11PM - 5AM] [Even though the apartments are on the cheaper side, they’re still well kept and in good living conditions. Many university students who don’t want to pay for a dorm are often found here. You’re able to be out of the apartments if you have a viable reason and can provide proof.]

🏷 CHERRY BLOSSOM ORCHARDS [OPERATION TIMES: SUN , MON , WED , FRI ; 7AM - 8PM] [This orchard farm is extremely popular and well visited especially during the cherry blossom season which goes from the end of March to mid-April. Additionally, festivals; events; and park-type activities are also done here as on each side of the trails there is open spaces people can use. It also has a florist shop and small market that is connected to the 8TH STREET FOOD MARKET.] [If you’re looking for THE WRITER, here is where he’d be. He’ll often come here to write without any distractions. Specifically, he sits in the cherry blossom park under a tree and writes for hours on end.]

🏷 8TH STREET FOOD MARKET [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 9AM - 7PM] [People can find fresh produce as well as fruit and vegetables for an affordable price with a good range of selections. This market is found a few blocks down from the cherry blossom orchards.]

🏷 HIGH RISE EXPRESS [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [The second most popular station used due to the low prices of the places. It tends to be a little packed during specific hours.]  

📍 THE HEXE STRIP [PRICE RANGE: $$] [This strip is on the edge of SKULL VALLEY / HAEGOL GYEGOG. If you like a more darker vibe, want to connect with lost loved ones, or are looking for a room to spend a night or two quick here is where you’d go.]

🏷 GRAVE WHISPERER [OPERATION TIMES: SUN , MON , FRI , SAT ; 10AM - 6PM / 10AM - 9PM] [If you want to connect with the other side, want your fortune or cards read, or are looking for answers from holy spirits, GRAVE WHISPERER is the place to go. Behind the building is a graveyard and a funeral home that specializes in all things spirits.]

🏷 THE OPEN ROOM MOTEL [CHECK IN TIME: 12PM ; CHECKOUT TIME: 1PM] [Though they use a typical check in and check out system for their temporary residents, they’ll often let people stay there for free depending on their situations.] [If you were looking for THE RUNAWAY, here is where he’d be. He rents a room to hide out in and is often in the bathroom acting as a doctor fixing his wounds with whatever he can get ahold of.]

🏷 SUKIYAKI EXPRESS [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [SUKIYAKI is the least used station out of the current operating stations. Not many people use it unless they’re looking for answers or to leave the city.] 

📍 THE CENTER OUTLET [PRICE RANGE: $$$-$$$$] [This strip of buildings make up the medical and education fields. With medical bills and high tuition, the majority of the money that you have to spend here won’t last long.]

🏷 RED TEAR ACADEMY [OPERATION TIMES: MON - FRI ; 8:45AM - 4PM] [A high tuition rate university that was founded by YANG DAEWON and YANG SOOJIN, THE NARCISSIST’s parents. It is marked as one of the top elite universities in South Korea. It has rigorous course scheduling with over 215+ degrees and programs available. The acceptance rate is quite low, 43% but you can get in at the right price. The passing rate is a moderate 68%.] [If you were looking for THE PRODIGY, here is where she’d be. Inside she’ll be in the academy’s music room practicing various instruments.] 

🏷 ELITE ARTS ACADEMY [OPERATION TIMES: MON - FRI ; 8:45AM - 4PM] [This academy is the sister academy of RED TEAR ACADEMY. It is also its academic competitor. They are ranked number 4 in a list of elite universities in South Korea. It has an acceptance rate of 87% with a passing rate of 80%. The courses programs are more slacked and the institution focuses more on a stronger connection between students and staff / professors.]

🏷 THE BOOK EXCHANGE [OPERATION TIMES: SUN , TUES, THURS - SAT ; 11AM - 5PM / 10AM - 7PM] [A library / bookstore that was originally built at THE UNDERGROUND OUTLET. But in 2012 THE CENTER OUTLET was built and it was moved here.]  [If you were to be looking for THE GOLDEN BOY, here is where you’d find him studying and searching for new authors.]

🏷 24/7 MEDICAL [OPERATING TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [If you have any type of emergency, medical or otherwise, 24/7 MEDICAL can help you. In addition, there is a side building that people go to when they have non-emergency issues / concerns.]

🏷 HAEGOL GYEGOG MORTUARY [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [The mortuary is located next to 24/7 MEDICAL. It is normally open 24 hours, but on some days it stays open till midnight or 1 in the morning. There is also a investigation team located next to the morgue that helps with investigating cold cases and helping to find answers from loved ones.] 

🏷 METRO 12 [OPERATION TIMES: SUN - SAT ; 12AM - 12AM / 24HR] [A busy subway station due to the high traffic area that centers around this district. Many people use it as a shortcut to get in and out of the main city.]
