I finally found some time to sit down and listen to music and relax and just not think about anything, but the music I was listening to was the new Taylor Swift album and The Prophecy came on and now I will be thinking about how well it fits that really angsty chapter of Time Heals All Wounds for the next 36 hours.

WARNING: death, blood, death by fire
Tumblr media
He remembers meeting you as clearly as the day was when you accidentally bumped into him. No cloud covered the blue sky and the sun shining down on you only made you prettier in his eyes. You fumbled with your words trying your best to apologize to him. The blush on your face made it more apparent that you wouldn't be able to spit it out successfully.
To your rescue, your mother walked out of the flower shop with a bag in her hand, “[Name], I know you're excited for the garden, but you must watch where you're going.” Though she scolded you, her voice was light and airy. Her long hair had light pink highlights, a stark contrast to her [h.color] hair.
Then she directed her ruby eyes onto the quiet boy bowing her head down to apologize. “I’m sorry about my daughter and her clumsiness. You see, we just bought new flower seeds and she gets very excited to plant them in our garden.” She giggled when you tugged at her kimono, silently telling her to stop embarrassing you.
Satoru looked away and over his shoulder to glare at the people that had been following him for a while. In a low and unbothered voice, Satoru said, “You don’t need to apologize, it’s just an accident. I’m Gojo Satoru, by the way.”He turned his attention back to the mother and daughter with no smile accompanying his greeting.
This only made you uneasy, yet your mother greeted him happily making you look up at her in confusion. “What a pleasure to meet the holder of Limitless and the Six Eyes. My name is [L.Name] Sabine and this is my daughter, [Name]. I am the holder of Nami’s Miracle.”
Satoru nodded his head and stuffed his hands into his pockets, “That makes sense now, your energy is very welcoming and powerful. What about her technique, it’s also strong, but it lacks in presence like it’s-”
“Slowly fading away?” Sabine finished and she combed her fingers in your hair. Your eyes never left her gentle look and her eyes widened in slight excitement. “How about you join us for lunch, young Gojo? I can prepare something for the three of us while [Name] plants her new seeds. Then I can tell you all about our family’s blessed energy and why [Name] is the only one in our family with cursed energy.”
Skeptical, but intrigued, Satoru accepted the invite to your dismay. You just made yourself look like a fool in front of this boy and your mother thought it was a great idea to invite him for lunch. You moved your eyes down to the floor and fiddled with your small purse. At least, you’d be able to plant the seeds and encourage them to grow with your curse technique while your mother talks Gojo’s ears off.
But that wasn’t going to be the case.
The size of the [L.Name] Estate surprised Satoru because it honestly looked like a small village. As the trio walked around, heading to the main house, Sabine explained to him that the [L.Name] family consisted of a lot of female family members with small amounts of blessed energy. These women can go on to help in the Jujutsu Society by healing wounded sorcerers.
“They’re not fighters, not like me who is the inheritor of Nami’s miracle,” Sabine clarified, “Because of this, our family is very low in the hierarchy of the Jujutsu Society. We are seen as defenseless and sometimes useless until they need our help. Will you think the same, young Gojo?”
“I don’t have a lot to go off from there to judge your family,” He responded, ignoring the looks he got from the surrounding women. They gushed at his appearance and wondered out loud why he was walking with the Lady of the Estate and her daughter.
“But I see merit in the ability to harness blessed energy as much as any cursed technique. Your daughter sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of them though.” By no means did he mean to upset you with his words, he only wanted to state out the obvious to get the answer as to why you have cursed energy.
Sabine could see the way you only closed yourself off more after Gojo’s offhand remark. Her hand landed on your shoulder and it made you feel smaller because her energy wanted to wash the cursed energy inside of you. “She does stick out,” Sabine moved her hand away and focused back onto the small boy walking next to her, “everyone thinks her to be some kind of failure because she cannot heal like the rest do. She’s the first in the entire family lineage to have cursed energy and it worries some. Her legitimacy has come to question, but there have been many witnesses to her birth. [Name] is my beloved daughter, cursed energy and all.”
Satoru’s eyes widened at the declaration and he couldn’t help, but wished he had a mother figure like Sabine. He blamed it on the blessed energy she constantly leaked out like a waterfall. No one can be this kind all the time.
When they reached the main house, Sabine handed the bag with the seeds inside to her anxious daughter. Then her daughter sprinted off without a word to the backyard to plant her flowers and watch them grow with her curse technique. Meanwhile Satoru watched her run away and hesitated on where to go. Thankfully, Sabine placed her hand onto his shoulder and gestured towards the direction her daughter ran off to.
“You can witness her cursed technique in action, young Gojo. I’m sure she’ll warm up to you if you show interest in her technique. She’s only distrustful to people because of how she’s treated here. No one appreciates her technique, but I believe you will.”
With that said, Satoru walked forward and followed after the lingering cursed energy belonging to you. Your mother believed in you and your kindness. It appeared to be easy for Sabine to gain someone’s trust because Satoru walked with you like nothing will happen to him.
“‘She sticks out like a sore thumb~.’”
Satoru heard your voice for the first time and it had to be when you openly mocked him. He stopped in his spot and listened closely to how you talked badly about yourself.
“I must have disappointed Mother when he mentioned my failure to be born without blessed energy” You stabbed the grass with the [f.color] hand trowel, your eyebrows furrowing in the middle, “Why was I even born? All I am is a nuisance to the [L.Name] Family, a girl who failed to be born with blessed energy. I should just die already, make everyone forget me like a weed in a garden.”
“I only said you stuck out like a sore thumb because you are stronger than the rest of them.” Satoru stepped in and you snapped your head in his direction. Your cheeks are flushed with embarrassment twice today. “Also weeds may be a nuisance to some people, but they are resilient and grow in any climate. Can you not see yourself as more than a failure?”
You wiped the dirt off your hands and looked away from his pretty blue eyes that stared at you in a haunting way. “I don’t think I can. Not when I’m reminded every day by the others in my family. You won’t get it, Gojo. You’re not a failure, you possess two wonderful techniques while I…”
You looked down at the small hole you dug and the lonely seed inside of it. “I’ll just show you.” You gestured to the spot next to you on the grass and he sat down without saying anything to you. You covered the seed with the disturbed dirt and placed your hand over the small mound.
In a second, the seed in the dirt began to sprout with your cursed energy giving life to grow into its final form. “This flower is called Calendula. Since I cannot heal with blessed energy, I can grow flowers that have some healing properties in them.”
“That’s smart,” Gojo commented lightly and reached his hand out to touch the flower. But you panicked and slapped his hand away from it, your ruby eyes wide and you stuttered out an apology.
“I’m so sorry! But you cannot touch the flower. My mother needs to bless the flower before anyone touches it. My cursed energy hurts people and it can sometimes poison them! I only slapped you to-”
“Calm down,” Gojo smiled at you and reached for the flower again. You covered your eyes and begged him not to touch the flower, but his chuckle made you move your hands away. “Hate to burst your bubble, earth-worm, my infinity protects me from whatever poison your flowers give off. See?”
He twisted a plucked flower petal in-between his fingers with a charming smile on his face. You couldn’t believe it, he almost gave you a heart attack for pulling a stunt like that. Suddenly a sound escaped your lips and it surprised you enough for Satoru to question you.
“What? Have you never laughed before?”
“Not really,” You admitted sheepishly, “You’re the first person to actually make me laugh. My mother isn’t very great at telling jokes and I can’t hang out with other kids my age.”
“Children, lunch is ready,” Sabine appeared behind you guys with flower petals flowing at the bottom of her kimono. Her close eyed smile presented with kindness and she held her clean hands out to you. Although you hid your hands behind your back and picked yourself up without accepting her help.
“You didn’t wear your gloves, young lady,” Sabine pointed out, her tone teasing you.
“I may have not, I was filled with too much excitement to put them on. Plus I feel closer to the seeds when I don’t put gloves on!” You explained, keeping your hands behind your back. Sabine shook her head and told you to go wash yourself up while she leads Gojo to the food.
When you walked away with a cheeky smile and a hop in your step, Sabine thanked Gojo for making you happy. “I think she likes the nickname you gave her. Earth-worm suits her very well considering her love for gardening. She loves to play with the dirt if you haven’t noticed.”
Satoru pushed himself off the dirt and handed the petal over to Sabine, so she could bless it. “I would be dumb if I didn’t see that. Also I have a question, uh…is it possible that I can visit her whenever?”
Sabine laughed and ruffled Satoru’s hair, sending chills down his spine. He can feel her touch upon his hair, she bypassed his barrier. “H-how are you doing that?” He pulled away and looked at her with unease.
“Oh, I’m sorry for spooking you. I am able to dispel any cursed technique, nullifying the user of their ability. I apologize if I made you feel vulnerable.”
“Don’t do it again,” He demanded, “Nullifying my infinity can put me at risk.”
Sabine’s eyes drooped in shame, “Yes, I noticed the people after you with the intent of killing you. But do not worry, I won’t do it again and you’re safe in the [L.Name] Estate. I can sense when someone comes into my home with bad intentions.”
Satoru nodded his head and followed after the calm woman with an astounding power. Sabine could be able to overthrow the Jujutsu Society if she wanted, but she remains a lady with responsibilities tied to her clumsy daughter. Something was missing and Sabine never explained why you were born with cursed energy.
And he forgot to ask despite him making multiple visits to make you laugh and spend more time with you. His attention never left you and you began to warm up to him. A beautiful flower sprouting to her full potential.
…
Everything had been great. His relationship with you grew and he developed a small crush on you which Sabine caught on quickly because she knew you were doing the same as time went on.
Yet the mother couldn’t anticipate the fire, the massacre of her family or the way the men threatened to kill you if she didn’t listen to them. Sabine passed down Nami’s Miracle to you upon the threat of the men. Your sleeping body was held in Naobito Zen’in’s arms as she pressed a kiss to your forehead. Tears slid down her face as she silently said goodbye to you.
“Oh, my beloved,” Sabine felt the hands of the men grab her, the bright light of the fire reflecting in her ruby red eyes, “do not fall into despair.”
They led her to the pile of bones and ashes still burning in the night, “You will become so much more than what I imagined. A lady of duality, they won’t be able to control you. I trust that young Gojo will lead with you, to keep his promise to me.”
A man roughly turned her attention to him and cruelly smirked at her tear stained face, “This will stop your incessant mumbling, almighty goddess.” He pressed a dagger to her throat and she closed her eyes, gagging on her blood. If only she could cover her throat, but her hands were tied behind her back and she felt a kick on her stomach.  Sabine felt weightless and the light of the fire engulfed the darkness that consumed her. The warmth comforted her as she gained new life. Her last thought on earth focused on blessing her daughter, ‘Starting tonight, you are born as the Princess of Thorns.’

Shin and/or Sabine saying the other’s name. Audibly. Out loud. With Sound. Please.
Wolfwren fight but it is so clear they aren‘t actually trying to kill each other.
Alternatively, wolfwren actual conversation.
Alternatively, wolfwren actual conversation DURING fight??
Ezra being like “wtf bro” when Sabine finally tells him she doesn’t have a plan…or a ship…and she came here as a prisoner…and Thrawn is escaping back to galaxy 1.0…
For the record I fully support Sabine’s decision and as long as it is not out of character I will continue to unconditionally support women Making Decisions
Sabine successfully uses the Force. My shipping brain says she does it as a response to Shin, my rational brain is suspecting something to protect Ezra?
Ahsoka ex machina
Ahsoka rocks Baylan’s shit bc she’s like reborn now or whateva
Ahsoka is more chill now and cracks a joke even
Ezra (has not seen a woman in ten years) takes one look at Shin and goes “who’s that.” Sabine does not react positively to this. This exchange inflames the shipping wars for the next eighteen real life months
Shin backstory
For real this time
More WolfwrenEyeFucking™
Baylan motivation monologue?? pls
Thrawn has a big brain moment
Ventress namedrop
Ahsoka is mad at Sabine :( but there is no time to get into it
Nobody hurts the purrgil bc i say so (Thrawn turbolasers their asses outta the sky)

what’s been hitting me so hard about shin the last few episodes is how… vulnerable she seems? how adrift, neither sith nor jedi but something her master refuses to name, to give breath to. she’s so lost! no wonder she latches onto the first bright thing she sees.
a slash of green in the dark on lothal with the moons looking over them both. taste of destiny on her tongue (and what is written in blood is at least written, at least exists). her vibrancy as she spun and struck, as they missed each other by the distance of a hand, of a touch.
and then victory, bitter in her mouth and sweeter than anything. like all force sensitives of a certain age she is so alone. that “like me?”, the way shin always speaks to baylan in “we. our. what about us? (together)”
she’s terrified! and you can see it in her uncertain glances, her quiet questions, her joy when she can dash into the woods and lose herself in the red branches and the brightness of the fight.
of sabine and being better than her because she has to be. has to be worthy of what she is - a legacy, a destiny, a kyber crystal she hurt with her hands to make red red red. never as scarlet as she needs it to be always that thread of weakness of colour of gentle when she has to make her hands out of stone and her bones out of something unbreakable
when she looked back at sabine as they landed on the graveyard planet i think half of it was fear, shin reaching out for someone her age, desperate for it. for sabine, who must be as frightened as she is (must be. please). she’s directionless, striking out wildly and following her whims.
and the wolf who eats the moon doesn’t want to kill the ocean or wreck the sky, after all. it’s just hungry. it’s just been running all its life.

Tumblr media
It’s strange how ten years already had passed.
How long it’s been since you last saw the stars of your own galaxy.
You knew that Ezra was up to something, it was a constant worry you had and when you catched a glimpse of him nodding towards Sabine and Chopper, you already knew that he was about to do something very stupid.
Which in fact, he did.
So you did what you thought was the best in that moment.
You ran to the hangar and jumped into a ship. Hoping that it was the one that Ezra would choose to sneak away from your friends.
There’s not much to say since it seemed like it was your lucky day.
He really chose the one in which you hid yourself, flying towards the Chimaera to hand himself over.
All you could do was to wait for the right moment, not wanting to cause any more trouble or to lead the attention to you, and when you heard the first blaster shots being fired, the first thought that crossed your mind was to follow their sound, hoping that you’d find Ezra just in time.
This is how you got yourself into this situation. When you finally reached the Chimaera‘s cockpit, it was too late.
Purrgils started to take the control over the ship, Ezra was talking to his comm before he noticed you standing right behind him.
Hera was yelling from the other side, asking if he at least knew where you were.
„what?.. what do you mean by y/n‘s not with you?!“
He then turned back, sensing that someone other then Thrawn was staring at him.
„heyy..“
You nervously said, trying to act as relaxed as you could.
„What are you doing here?! You need to go now! They’re going to jump at any moment now!“
Ezra yelled, trying his best to hold Thrawn still, using the force with his one arm while he created a force bubble with the other.
„What I‘m doing here? I‘m making sure that you won’t do anything stupid! And guess what? I failed!“
„y/n I need you to go now. Please..!“
„I‘m not going anywhere Ezra, wherever you go I go“
„y/n“
„Ezra.“
He looked at you in disbelief, thinking that you lost your mind.
„Listen.. the whales will jump and there won’t be a way back… are you sure?“
-
Ten years later and you’re still by his side, stranded on some unreachable planet while everything you could do was to watch the night sky with your significant other.
His head rested on your thighs, his hand holding yours while you enjoyed the sight in front of you. There he was, lying down and watching the night sky, holding your biggest treasure close.
„where are the space whales now?“
Your little one asked. Looking up to both of you.
„oh love.. they continued their journey“
Not wanting to destroy your child’s hopes you decided to lie to him.
He didn’t knew that Perridea was the place where the Purrgils went to die.
Those whales were long gone by now, but try to explain this to a 6 years old without breaking his heart.
„And they’re traveling right now as we speak.. somewhere up there“
Ezra added, lifting his arm to point at some stars.
„One day we’ll be the ones traveling up there..“
Your childs eyes lighted up, a sense of excitement overcoming him.
„Is he telling the truth? Mom??“
You chuckled at his question while Ezra faked to be hurt by his question?“
„What exactly does that mean now?“
He asked, still faking his hurt expression.
„That he’s smart“
You said without thinking, bursting into laughter when you realized what you just said.
„I‘m actually hurt. wow. Even my own son.. my wife“
Ezra looked away, noticing how your son actually believed his act.
„No don’t be hurt papa! You’re actually smart… I’m your own way!“
The lil one tried to make it better but he was just adding salt to the wound which made it even funnier.
„Thank you.. I guess?“
Ezra then said, looking down at his little Bridger.
„You didn’t answer the question.. Mom“
He teased, looking to your direction again. His eyes held so much love, it was almost impossible to resist them.
„Yes, he’s telling the truth dear“
The lil guy almost jumped as he got really excitement from the mere thought that he’d be flying up there one day.
„Does that mean that I‘ll get to meet aunti Hera and Sabine? And uncle Zeb?“
He added, looking at you with wide eyes.
You had told him about your adventures you both had before Perridea.
About your experiences, the crew that grew to become somehow your new family and, of corse, you told him about Kanan.
He knew a lot about them just because he always wanted to listen to your stories and it’d be an understatement to say that he now knew nearly everything there was to know about your friends.
„Yes sweetie, and don’t forget Chopper“
You said, placing your hand to his, holding him close.
„That droid will shock you until you’re awake. Every. Morning. And he’ll do it just because it makes him happier“
Ezra said partly terrified, remembering how Chopper used to wake him up.
„I already like him“
„You’ll regret it“
„He’s still young  spaceboy, we should let him do his mistakes as long as they don’t cost him his life“
You joked, starting to feel tired yourself.
Soon the three of you laid in each others embrace, covered by a blanket, deep in your dreams.
Little did you know that a certain Someone was very close to you.
-
The crab people that gave you a place to stay seemed to be excited about something. Ezra and you were both worried, not knowing what was going to come.
„Why don’t you go inside and try to sleep? You’re still tired aren’t you?“
Ezra asked him, feeling a familiar presence as the small chat continued.
„It’s a great idea honey! common, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity“
You tried to make it sound like as if it was something unique.
This didn’t work on your son though and your time eventually ran out, but instead of a threat you two were completely dumbfounded by who stood right in front of you.
„Sabine..?“
You asked quietly, not believing seeing her after all those years..
She turned around, immediately locking gazes with you two.
Your son was still hidden behind you. Not visible enough fernher to see him.
„It’s you.. it’s really you..“
Sabine said, not believing it herself.
„It sure took you long enough“
Ezra said, smiling widely at her, finally seeing his best friend after 10 long years.
„You didn’t really make it easy you know.. both of you, could have told us where you were going“
She said, walking closer to you.
„We didn’t know ourselves where we were going“
Ezra joked, getting tense when he suddenly seemed to struggle against something.
Sabine noticed it, and soon enough she also noticed the small legs that where hidden behind Ezra.
„No way..“
She said, her eyes widening with every passing second.
You two let out a chuckle, slowly going to the side to reveal your newest ,ember of the family.
„You became parents?!“
Sabine then asked, completely surprised from the happy news.
„Mom.. Dad.. who is this?“
Your little one asked, clinging himself on Ezra.
„That’s Sabine“
You said proudly, looking over to Sabine who was still dumbfounded.
„Auntie Sabine? The Sabine??“
He asked, getting even more excited.
„Auntie ?“
Sabine asked, deeply touched at how you two raised him.
She then nodded.
„Yes, it’s me.. care to share your name?“
She then asked him back, smiling down at your little star.
„I‘m Caleb! It’s nice to finally meet you!!“
He happily said, running to her and putting her into a tight hug.
The mention of Kanans real name somehow warmed Sabines heart.
It was a kind gesture to show justice for their Mentor and father figure by passing his name on to their first child.
„I like you already!“
„Me too“
„And I also think that I might know someone who’d be thrilled to be your friend“
Ezra looked at you and then to Sabine, Not believing what was happening right now. You did the same.
When Caleb was ready to let you two hug your best friend, it soon was time to get together, sit down and exchange your stories.
A lot had happened in the last 10 years and when Sabine finished her revision of what had happened intrastate your turn to update her on your life.
„I see that you both were quite busy.. didn’t expect to see a little bridger when I arrived here“
She said, smiling as she laid her eyes on him, watching while he tried to understand her helmet.
Her statement left you two flustered but you eventually spoke up.
„Yeah.. well life wouldn’t be as exciting as it is if we wouldn’t take risks right?“
You looked at Ezra, your gaze telling him to somehow help you out since you didn’t find the right words.
„And sometimes those risks are hella ho-„
You punched him to the side, nearly choking on your own air when he said that.
„I mean.. sometimes those risks are the most beautiful and exciting things you’ll ever experience in your life.“

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blaster fire filled the air.
Kanan saw hera hunched over. Ezra, Sabine, and Zeb fighting back with their weapons; trying to make freedom true.
He fought, as well, though hope was fading more and more as many other stormtroopers arrived, along with weapons of immense power.
AT-AT walkers, TIE fighters and Blaster shots surrounded them, and Kanan wasn’t sure how they were going to get out of this.
He looked back to his friends, losing hope— but he continued to fight.
just as hope was almost drowned, a miracle flew from the sky.
an X-wing starfighter.
His eyes were trained on the ship as it blasted the Walkers legs, making them crumble to the floor.
“who is that?!” Ezra yelled, deflecting a blast from an imperial stormtrooper.
“I don’t know, but we’ll have to thank them later!” Hera called back as the X-wing blasted the last walker down, flying into the sky for cover before showing itself again and raining hell upon the Empires Army.
a TIE shot at it, but the pilot dodged it, blasting the fighter into the floor, beside the others.
All the other TIE fighters quickly met the same fate; blowing up, and crumbing to the floor.
the Stormtroopers kept their focus on the Rebels, continuously blasting.
The X-wing finished its business in the sky, quickly flying down and shooting the troopers, but calling it awfully close to Kanan and his friends, it landed.
a hooded figure walked down the ramp, catching the attention of the imperials as their fire was directed towards the person, who held their hand out.
Kanan’s eyes blew wide as the blaster shots froze mid air.
The Force.
The figure moved forward, using the shots to kill the troopers. the screams of their fading souls filling the rebels ears before silence fell over the once heavily armed battle field.
as the figure moved towards them, no one let their guard down.
“Caleb Dume.”
The voice spoke; the voice of a woman. Kanan’s eyes flinched, holding his lightsaber up he spoke.
“Who are you?”
It was silent, only for a moment before the woman reached for her hood— revealing her face.
Kanan’s body flushed with familiarization.
“Y/n?”
Ezra, Zeb, Sabine and Hera snapped their heads to kanan.
“you know her?” Ezra shrieked, continuing to hold up his lightsaber as Kanan un-seethed his.
“Yes— put your weapons down.” he said, walking towards you.
You sent him a small grin, a nervous one.
“It’s been a long time, Caleb.” you said, and he nodded. “It’s Kanan now. I.. don’t use that name anymore.”
you frown, sending him a solemn look before nodding and turning to his comrades.
“You four must be the Rebels I have heard so much about.” you spoke to them, not missing the suspicious looks in their eyes.
“How do you know Kanan?” The Twi’Lek asked. You pulled back your robe, revealing your lightsaber.
“We trained together in the temple as Padawans.” you replied, earning a wide eyed look.
“you’re a jedi?” Ezra spoke, putting his weapon down.
“If that name still exists in the Galaxy.”
Their faces dropped, guilt dripping on their features as they all lowered their weapons.
“why are you here?” Kanan asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
you stare at him for a moment, before a sigh leaves you. “I’ve come to seek Ahsoka.”
the Silence was heavy— Kanan new about the feelings between you and Ahsoka. Yes, you two were older than him as Padawans, but you three did know each other. you were friends, and he always felt the tension.
“I see.” he said. “I’ll contact her. Thank you for the rescue, we couldn’t have done it without you.”
you laughed lightly, eyes crinkling. “Of course.” You turned to Ezra, earning a surprised look from him.
“I have heard so much about you, Ezra Bridger. It’s an honor to finally meet you.” You said, bowing lightly. He sent you a wide eyed stare, and Kanan sent him a glance of ‘don’t be rude.’
“o-of course, you know, it’s my pleasure- uh- too.” you smiled, turning to the rest of the crew.
“I’ve heard so much about you all,” you connected eyes with Sabine. “I fought with Lady Kryze and your Mother, alongside Ahsoka Tano, to retake Mandalore from Maul before the republics fall. It’s a pleasure meeting the daughter of such an amazing woman.” You said to her, earning a shocked look. You turned to Hera.
“I met your father and Mother on a diplomatic Mission during the Clone Wars. He assisted me and my Master in harboring weapons against the separatists,” her own face morphed into shock, and you smiled. “I saw you. You were with your droid, wondering around. Your mother had told me you would do great things one day.” Hera’s face saddened for a moment just before turning harsh once again.
and at last, you turned to Zeb. “I’ve met you before, Garazeb Orrelios, when you were training to become a Lasan Honor Guard.”
“she knows everyone!” Ezra exclaimed, earning a response from Kanan. “that she does.” He stepped forward, blocking the rest of his party from your view.
“What would you like to do?” he asked you, and you made eye contact.
“I need you to take me to Ahsoka.”
he nodded, his eyes glancing behind him to the surprised faces of his comrades. “I can give you a lift. We are going back to our meeting place, she’ll be there.”
“No need, thank you. send me the coordinates of where you are heading and I will follow.” you confirmed, earning a nod from him, you turned your back.
Kanan walked back and stood beside his team, and they all looked at him.
“I’ve known her since I was a youngling. She helped guide me through my training as a Padawan, took me on missions with her and her Master. She came back for me after the clone wars and sent me away to a safe place. I thought she died.” Kanan confessed, and Hera gave him a solemn look.
“well, she certainly isn’t dead.”
Kanan watched as you walked up your ramp.
“no, she isn’t.”
—♡—
Ahsoka looked at the map hologram in front of her, her mind deep in thought before she heard the door open.
Her eyes snapped to it, tracing over each familiar figure.
“Kanan,” she spoke softly, approaching his crew. “how did the mission go?”
the sweat on his forehead was visible, and it caught her attention. “very bad— until it went great.”
“someone’s here to see you.” Ezra spoke up, and Ahsoka’s attention instantly flew to him. “what?”
“yeah, she’s in the ba—”
“Ezra.” Kanan scolded, sending him a firm glance before looking back to Ahsoka’s confused face.
“there’s.. someone in that back who would like to speak with you.” Ahsoka nodded, stepping away from the pair.
“why didn’t you let me finish?” Ezra scoffed, crossing his arms.
“you’ll see.”
As Ahsoka took one step in front of the other, a strange pit was forming in her lower stomach. She wasn’t sure why, and she didn’t know who was behind the doors, but she knew she was in for a world of surprise.
as they opened, her eyes instantly landed on the cloaked figure in the center of the room, patting Chopper. As soon as she saw your hair, her stomach fell, and her throat became dryer than the dune sea of Tatooine.
you turned around to face her, and all time stopped as your eyes met one another’s.
As she looked into your eyes, the familiar feeling that once clouded her vision flooded her mind once again. You stood up slowly, a small, sweet smile on your lips as you approached her.
“Ahsoka..” you whispered, not missing how her eyes fiercely scanned your face for any indications you weren’t actually there. you moved your hand up, slowly, and hesitantly, you brushed your hand over her cheek.
upon the confirmation of your physical touch, she instantly reached for you; griping you in a bone crushing hug. One with more words could ever describe.
You hugged her back tightly, her head in your shoulder as you did the same.
You both stood like that for a while, just before she pulled back and instantly connected her lips to yours.
You missed this.
her lips on yours, her hands on you. holding you.
the kiss was harsh, desperate and filled with many emotions. she gripped your waist tightly as your lips synced into a rhythm you two only know for one another.
they only disconnected when you pulled back for air, smiling at her as she stare at you.
“I.. i thought you were—”
“I know. I’m so, so sorry I couldn’t find you sooner. I tried everything I could.” you whispered, brushing your hand against her cheek and holding it softly as she leaned into it, closing her eyes.
“I missed you more than anything.” Ahsoka says as you hold each other.
“I missed you more.”
The door whipped open, and both you and Ahsoka’s attention whipped to the person in the doorway.
“uh—”
“Ezra!”
Ezra stood wide eyed in the door way, pupils blown and jaw agape.
“Ezra! i told you to stay in the cockpit! ” Kanan scolded, grabbing his shoulder and making sure to not look at either you or Ahsoka.
“It’s okay, Kanan.” you laughed, pulling away from Ahsoka, but she held your hand.
“I’m sorry. he doesn’t listen.” He apologizes, sending an angry glance to Ezra.
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to interrupt, I was just curious—”
“It’s alright, Ezra, really.” you comforted, squeezing Ahsoka’s hand.
“We’ll leave you both.” Kanan said, dragging away the surprised boy.
once the door shut, you laughed and turned to Ahsoka; who was staring at you with all the love in the world.
“Do you have quarters on this ship?” you ask her, of to which you get a nod in return, and you follow as she begins to walk to her room.
It was a silent walk, only your steps and breathing the sounds you hear as you approach her room.
The doors open, revealing a single bed. Ahsoka walks to it, sitting on the edge as you follow, and she wraps her arms around you as you both lay down.
You were always little spoon, and you loved it.
Your legs matched together perfectly, and you loved the warmth of her hands on your waist as you both rest.
Your eyes fluttered shut, the lullaby of her breaths on your neck ushering you to sleep.
“I love you.” she whispers, and you crack a loving smile.
“I love you more.”
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
bonus!
Kanan and Ezra looked at you both, cuddled up and soaking in each other’s embrace.
“You didn’t tell me Ahsoka had a special someone.” Ezra said, waving sarcastically at his Master.
“It wasn’t something for me to tell.” Kanan replied, smiling lightly at the content look on Ahsoka’s resting face.
“But I’m glad these two finally made it back to one another.”

Sabine Wren
The Stars Are Not Wanted Now
Tumblr media
Story Summary: A collection of one-shot POVs from the people in Sabine Wren’s life detailing her grief over Ezra’s absence, focused around a special item she wears in his memory.
Author's Note: These one-shots are not necessarily in chronological order.
Ryder Azadi
The fireworks burst overhead, lighting up the night sky of Lothal in explosions of red, green, purple, yellow - any color you could think of, it was made available for the night's festivities.
In Capital City, the streets were jam packed with crowds and music and, of course, vendors looking to make a decent profit from the joyous citizens. Azadi, Governor of Lothal, was certain that some of those vendors would be selling their wares at exorbitant prices but he was willing to relax his scrutiny for tonight.
After all, the Empire had been defeated. The Emperor had seemingly perished, along with his top enforcer, the fearsome Darth Vader; both were onboard the second Death Star when the Rebel fleet had destroyed it over Endor.
He knew that the Empire was fracturing rapidly without its top leadership but that the war ahead would still stretch into the years to come. Rumors were already spreading that some of the more ambitious Admirals and Imperial Moffs were already lining up to take command.
No, Azadi knew better. The war was not over. Not until the Empire had been driven from every planet in the known galaxy and completely eradicated.
But, for now, he would enjoy the celebrations. Let the people have their moment to be joyful at what had been gained.
However, he would could not join them. All he could think of is what had been lost.
Into the late night, he found himself at the Wall of Heroes - and realized he was not the only one not partaking in the festivities.
Sabine Wren was there. Sitting on the edge of the platform, a small cup of caf in her hands, gazing out over the Capital City. She struck him as a lonely figure in that moment; her eyes, sharp as always, took in everything but saw nothing.
"Sabine," he called out.
She turned around and gave him a small smile. "Hey, Ryder."
"Mind if I join you?" he asked.
She patted the space next to her. "Be my guest."
Ryder walked over and sat down with a huff. Overhead, the night sky erupted into a flash of vermillion sparks, taking the shape of a krayt dragon. The crowd below cheered at the pyrotechnic display.
"Not bad," Sabine remarked. "You've been saving up the budget for this one, Ryder."
Ryder reached into his cloak and took out a flask. Unscrewing the top, he took a quick sip, savoring the alcohol's warmth as it slid down his throat. "Yup. I knew this day would come. Wanted to make sure we had something else to blow up other than Imperials."
Sabine grinned at his comment. "What brings you here?" she asked. "Shouldn't you be somewhere important, making a big speech?"
Ryder snorted. "Not tonight. There will be speeches later. Tonight . . . tonight, I just want to remember."
The young woman went quiet next to him. Another firework - this one composed of sapphire sparks and taking the shape of an X-Wing - burst into life.
Ryder glanced at Sabine and saw her looking down at the chronometer strapped to her wrist. It was an old, battered model. The numbers on it were frozen, stuck to a specific time and date.
His eyes widened in recognition at the time and date.
The Battle of Lothal. When Thrawn disappeared into the Unknown Regions, alongside Ezra Bridger, Sabine's closest friend.
"Yeah," she said quietly. "I know what you mean."
"Your chronometer," he observed. "Is that the one Ezra gave you for your birthday?"
She took a sip of her caf but he caught the pained look in her eyes. "Yes," she said tonelessly.
"It's broken," he pointed out.
"I know," she replied, shrugging.
"Do you need it fixed?" Azadi found it hard to believe that Sabine Wren, child prodigy, couldn't figure out how to fix a broken chronometer. He suspected there was another reason why it hadn't been repaired. "I know a specialist in the city."
"No," she responded flatly. "It can't be fixed."
Sabine stood up abruptly. Ryder looked at her, feeling worried. "Sabine, I - "
"Good night, Ryder," she said. She departed without another word.
He watched her go, a lonely figure in the night. After a time, he looked back to the celebration, watching another firework - this time a sunburst orange, resolving into the New Republic symbol - go off.
Ryder took another sip of his drink.
For some, he thought, the war wasn't over.
No. No, for those like Sabine - it was just beginning.
Hera Syndulla
Hera Syndulla, General of the New Republic, watched her son skip happily up the boarding ramp into the Ghost.
She wrapped him in a big hug, feeling the warmth of him -
And something else. Narrowing her eyes, she slipped a hand into his jacket and pulled out a tiny blaster.
"Hey!" Jacen Syndulla protested. "That's mine."
"Unbelievable," Hera groaned. "Sabine gave you a blaster?"
"No, of course not," Jacen replied smugly. "I borrowed it from her."
Hera crossed her arms and snorted. "More like she let you take it. I'm holding onto this, kiddo."
Jacen pouted. Hera, laughing at his expression, ruffled his hair fondly. "Alright, I'll think about it. Let's get you strapped in, okay?"
"Okay," he said, dashing to the cockpit. Once secured firmly into his co-pilot's chair, Hera eased the freighter out of the hangar bay and keyed in the coordinates for home.
"How was your time with Sabine? She show you anything cool?" Hera asked, as the ship jumped into lightspeed.
"Yeah! She showed me some of the lightsaber forms Ahsoka showed her. It was totally wizard. I even got to try on her jetpack."
Chopper whomped an incredulous response from beside him. "Well, no," Jacen retorted. "I obviously didn't get to actually turn it on. Aunt Sabine's not that crazy."
"Good," said Hera in relief, feeling her eye twitches begin to subside.
"Oh - but there was this one weird thing, though," said Jacen, his excitement fading. Hera looked at him, frowning at his sudden pensiveness.
"What is Jacen? Did something happen?"
Jacen scratched at the back of his head, thinking. "It's her chronometer. I noticed it was broken."
Hera felt her heart twist. Sabine's still wearing it. After all this time.
"Let me guess," she said. "You offered to fix it for her."
"Yeah," he said. "And she got . . . kind of mad at me. Snatched it from my hands."
Hera leaned back in her chair and sighed. "Yeah, that tracks for Sabine."
Jacen blinked at her, worried. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No," Hera replied firmly. "No, you didn't. The chronometer is important to Sabine. It's a gift from Ezra."
Jacen's eyes widened at the mention of Ezra's name. He loved hearing about Ezra Bridger, the Jedi who saved Lothal.
"Oh, wow. So it's really special, then."
You have no idea. I don't think Sabine knows either. "Yup," said Hera.
Jacen frowned. "So why doesn't she fix it then? If it's so important to her."
Hera grimaced. "That's . . . complicated, kiddo. I don't know where to start with explaining that."
Her son smiled serenely and said, "Why don't you start from the beginning?"
Chopper twittered in amusement. Hera chuckled at the joke before sobering. "Right, of course. Well . . . you remember how I told you about when your Dad died? How I felt afterwards?"
Jacen nodded. "Yeah. You felt like everything had stopped."
"That's right," Hera said, fighting back the surge of emotions. Kanan's death was long receded into the past but the edges of that wound still prickled whenever she thought of him still. "I felt like time had stopped for me."
Understanding dawned in her son's face. "Oh, I get it. Aunt Sabine feels the same way about Ezra."
"Yeah. It took a long time for me to get past your Dad's death. I struggled with it."
Jacen reached out and patted his mother's knee affectionately. "I think you did a good job, Mom. You're pretty strong."
She smiled warmly at him. "Thanks, kid. A lot of that strength came from having you come into my life. You've got the best of me and your Dad in you."
"I helped you get past Dad's death?" asked Jacen.
Hera shook her head. "Not exactly. I'll always miss your Dad, you know? It's just having you there made his passing easier to bear. You have a part of him in you."
He thought it over. "So what will help Aunt Sabine? What will let her fix the chronometer?"
Hera looked out from the Ghost's canopy and into the streaming star lines of hyperspace.
"Not a what, kiddo," she murmured. "But a who."
Ahsoka Tano
"Late again," chided Ahsoka Tano to her Padawan, Sabine Wren. "That's the third time this week." She was standing in a hangar bay within Lothal's Capital City, waiting to pick up Sabine for another round of field training.
Sabine, out of breath from sprinting to make it on time, huffed out an apology. "Lost track of time. Sorry."
"It's that blasted chronometer of hers," remarked Huyang. "It confounds me why she simply does not have it repaired or replaced."
Sabine gave the droid an annoyed look. "Can it, Huyang. No one asked for your opinion."
Ahsoka frowned. "Your chronometer is broken?"
She watched her Padawan reach over and tug a sleeve over the old time piece in a reflexive motion. "Yes," Sabine replied. "I haven't had the time to repair it."
"Haven't had the time to repair it? Or you just don't want to?" asked Ahsoka pointedly.
Sabine glared at her and brushed past into the open hatch of the T-6 shuttle. "What does it matter?" she asked, walking inside.
Ahsoka sighed and walked after her. "It matters a great deal. Something trivial like this shouldn't be an issue for a Jedi."
Her words struck a nerve. Sabine stopped in the cabin and whirled around.
"It's not trivial," she snarled. "Not to me."
Ahsoka folded her arms. "This is about Ezra again. Isn't it."
Her Padawan flushed, but Ahsoka's comment had headed off the anger rising within Sabine; she could sense it deflating rapidly like a punctured balloon.
"I do believe that is a yes, Lady Tano," observed Huyang dryly.
"Huyang," Ahsoka interjected before Sabine could fire back, "Please prepare the shuttle for take-off. I'll join you in the cockpit shortly."
"As you wish," replied the droid. Sabine glared at him as he went.
Ahsoka gestured at the central area inside the shuttle, complete with circular benches wrapped around a table used for dining and communication. "Have a seat, Sabine."
Sabine huffed out an aggravated breath and did so. Ahsoka followed and sat next to her.
"May I see the chronometer?" she asked. Sabine grimaced and rolled up her sleeve.
It was an older model, from a line famous for its longevity and durability. Ahsoka recognized the time and date that it was stuck on.
"It's a good piece," commented Ahsoka. "Reliable."
"Yeah," replied Sabine quietly. "Until it wasn't."
"Why haven't you fixed it yet, Sabine?" asked Ahsoka.
Sabine looked away and muttered, "It doesn't feel right to fix it. I can't explain it, okay? It just . . . it just doesn't feel right. At least for now."
Ahsoka sighed. "As a Jedi, your mind needs to be clear in order to make the right decision. You can't have this kind of emotional baggage clogging up your thoughts."
"Well, I'm not a Jedi yet," Sabine countered. "And Ezra isn't emotional baggage to me."
"Continuing to hold onto him will slow your progress, hinder your ability to fully grasp your potential. Ezra wouldn't want that for you. He would want you to move on," Ahsoka urged.
"Move on?" Sabine asked sharply.
Ahsoka grimaced but plowed on, determined. "Move on with your life," she said.
Sabine stared at Ahsoka. "Ezra is my life," she said quietly. "There will be no moving on. Not without him. Are we clear?"
Ahsoka opened her mouth to respond but Sabine was already standing up to head to her room.
She watched her Padawan tug the sleeve down over the chronometer with it's frozen time as she entered; the door slid shut and she was alone in the cabin.
Ahsoka hung her head and let out a frustrated breath. Sabine, as always, wouldn't listen to her.
There was only one person who could fix the chronometer for her; only one who could make time move again for her.
And he was long gone.
Sabine Wren & Ezra Bridger
Stretching with a loud yawn, Sabine walked out of the Noti hut she had been sleeping in to find Ezra sitting on a rock, hunched over a crate. On top of the crate were some of her equipment; he had some tools out and was looking over one of her blasters.
Smiling, she walked over to him. "That's my job," she called out to him.
Ezra looked up from his work and grinned at her. "Shouldn't have been sleeping on the job, then. Huh."
Sabine sat down next to him. "We ready to move out?" she asked.
Ezra nodded. "Just finished about thirty minutes ago. Hope you don't mind, but I was tuning up your gear while you slept."
"I appreciate that," said Sabine. "Anything broken?"
"Not really. You've been keeping them in good shape, I see."
Sabine arched an eyebrow at him. "I'm a Mandalorian, Ezra. Of course I keep my weapons in top condition."
He laughed. Sabine felt her heart do a little flip at the sound and, for not the first - or last - time that day, she realized that Ezra was actually here. He was alive. He was safe.
He was real.
"Right, right. Of course. But - ", and with a comedic wiggle of his eyebrows, he produced her chronometer. "I did notice that this was broken."
Sabine felt her stomach drop. "Oh," she replied casually - or at least she hoped it sounded casual. "Yeah. I forgot about that."
He put on a face of mock outrage. "You forgot about my birthday present to you? What else did you forget about me, I wonder?"
"Nothing!" Sabine said quickly. "I would never forget, I just - "
Something in her face must have given away her feelings because Ezra held up his hands in a placating gesture. "Whoa, easy there. I was just joking, Sabine."
Flushed with embarrassment, Sabine looked away. "I would never forget anything about you, Ezra Bridger."
He didn't say anything for a long moment. Then, quietly: "I noticed the time it was frozen on."
"Yeah," said Sabine. She turned to look at him but didn't elaborate further.
He reached out and held her hand. "Hera told me once that life only moves forward."
Ezra slipped the chronometer onto her wrist gently. Sabine saw that it was repaired, the time no longer stuck.
She blinked rapidly at a sudden onset of tears. Ezra just smiled at her, still holding her hand affectionately.
"Easier said than done, huh," he said. His smile turned sad; his piercing blue eyes were watery with their own unshed tears.
Sabine squeezed his hand. "Yeah, it is."
For a long few seconds, they just sat there, gazing at each other. Seeing each other.
The moment was interrupted by a Noti, speaking to Ezra in its native tongue. He replied back in the affirmative.
"Time to go?" she asked.
He nodded. "Time to go. They're ready." He stood up and brushed at his legs. Sabine did the same, discreetly wiping at her face.
She glanced down at her newly repaired chronometer; the time was moving stubbornly forward now.
Not stuck anymore, she thought.
"Hey, looks like I fixed it pretty good," said Ezra.
Sabine looked up at her friend. "Yeah," she said softly. "Looks like you did."

So... I was scrolling down on Instagram and I stumbled across a post about the "who did this to you?" trope. My mind went straight to wolfwren so I came up with this short fic. Below the cut.
"Who did this to you?" asked Shin as her thumb slid over an old wound in the middle of Sabine's back.
Sabine took a few seconds before answering, "I don't think I even remember," she replied, "it's been so long."
Shin's eyebrows furrowed as she inspected Sabine's back, the blue light of the moon casting through the blinds of her room's window. "You've got many wounds," she stated, "what's the point of having armour?"
"Its purpose is to prevent worse injuries than a superficial wound," Sabine retorted. "At least, my vital organs are mostly safe," she added, tapping on her chest where her chestplate should've been. She only was wearing a bra band and a loose pair of trousers which Shin had lent to her. She was sitting on the edge of Shin's bed while this one was kneeling on the mattress behind her. Her fingers had been tracing the curves of her back, making sure to remember which spots made the Mandalorian woman shiver.
"I don't like it," Shin finally said.
"What don't you like?" Sabine asked.
"That people have hurt you in the past."
Sabine couldn't help but chuckle, "so are we really gonna pretend as if my most serious wound wasn't of your doing?"
She turned her head around and met Shin's gaze. The humour drained off Sabine's features as Shin looked back at her seriously. Shin's blue eyes pierced right through her brown ones. Her intense gaze always managed to make her heart skip a bit before it began beating at a rapid pace; as if it was trying to overcompensate for the missed beat.
"What?" asked Sabine. No words were leaving Shin's mouth, her gaze remaining on her. "That's what happens when you don't wear armour," she reminded her. "Also, I was definitely out of practice."
Shin was still staring at her, wearing her nerves raw.
"Can you say something?!" she asked again.
Instead of answering, Shin swiftly locked her lips with hers, swallowing Sabine's surprised sound. Sabine barely had the time to register what was happening that Shin had already leaned away from her, leaving Sabine with the phantom feeling of the recent kiss on her lips.
Shin was avoiding her gaze now, focusing her attention back onto the purple-haired woman's back. Sabine turned her head back around, focusing her own attention on the wall facing her. Quietness settled once more between them.
A few minutes of silence passed by. The shadows on the walls moved slowly as the moon rose in the sky. Shin was sitting on the balls of her feet, engrossed in her task of inspecting Sabine's back. Her touch was featherlight, Sabine couldn't help but wonder if she was even touching her and was not just using the Force. She could feel her touch through the sore muscles of her back, easing the tension out and turning them into cotton.
It was a nice feeling. She could definitely get used to Shin's tenderness. Yet, she knew that once they were out of her room, the mask would come back on, spite coming back at full strength as if it had never left.
"You're…" began Sabine, breaking the silence, "it's difficult to understand you sometimes."
Sabine was left with no response again, she sighed. She chose to take it easy on herself and appreciate the moment for what it was: vulnerability. For the both of them. She was barely dressed with the woman who had tried to kill her and the said woman was showing… remorse?
"Is that what that was?" thought Sabine.
Sabine let out another sigh, wasn't she supposed to take it easy on herself?
She was getting sleepy, too. She nodded her head, shaking her thoughts away. Questions and difficult emotions could definitely be left unattended for a few more hours… She won't get the answers she so adamantly craved tonight. There was no point in ruminating over it. Shin was doing a great job at taking her mind away from things, too. So she just let her.
What harm could it cause?

This is a very quick little fic (not really edited at all lol). But the idea came to me forever ago and I never got it out on a doc but my brain finally spit it out. Hope you enjoy it (mistakes and all).
Also this is incredibly fluffy and you might cry happy tears.
*ka boom*
A loud crack of thunder rolled across the Lothal sky. Ezra jolted awake at the sound of the thunder but also the sound of the bedroom door opening. As he was gathering his bearings he felt the bed move as his wife Sabine sat up.
“Mama, papa?” a small voice said from the doorway. Ezra couldn’t tell which of the twins it was.
“Come here ad'ika, is your sister with you?” Sabine asked, voice a little deep from sleep.
“Of course” replied the voice, Ezra could now tell it was Ursa, the older of the twins. He heard their little feet pad across the room and then the bed move as two little toddlers climbed in between their parents.
“Papa are you awake?” asked Mira as she settled in next to him.
“I am little love, the storm woke me up too” he replied as he adjusted his position to now accommodate two more bodies in the bed.
“Do you think the baby is awake too?” she asked, referring to the baby that was due any day now.
“Oh he is very much awake ad'ika” Sabine replied, “he is having a dance party on my bladder.” The twins laughed at their mother's response.
Before long the bed moved again as Murley their loth-cat joined the party. Fren, their howler, was fast asleep in the corner with her legs in the air, slightly looking dead. Ezra just chuckled at his little family.
The four of them all got cuddled together and Ezra & Sabine draped their arms across the girls and interlocked their hands. Ezra sent some calming Force energy to his girls so they would be able to get back to sleep with the storm.
As he was drifting off himself, he remembered being alone in the same tower all those years ago when there were these thunderstorms. He was incredibly grateful for whatever force allowed him to now be there with his beautiful wife and children.

Note
Ezra entered the tent and found Sabine lying on her side in one of his oversized shirts, a hand on her belly and the other gripping the sheets.
He kneeled beside her and touched her shoulder to alert her to his presence. She opened her eyes and smiled, but the smile quickly turned to a frown as she had a contraction.
She reached for Ezra, squeezing his hand and moaning softly as the contraction reached its peak and then ended.
This dance went on well into the afternoon with Sabine changing positions to accommodate the labor and Ezra doing everything he could to support her.
Sabine, being the Mandalorian that she was, had opted for a natural birth and though Ezra had read all the files on labor and delivery, nothing could have prepared him for seeing the woman he loved in pain.
As stars littered the night sky, Sabine sat in a squat in Ezra’s lap and he massaged her taut belly with his hands as she pushed.
“Ow, it burns” she said, squirming uncomfortably and digging her fingernails into Ezra’s thighs.
“It’s the baby’s head, you’re almost crowning” the midwife said.
Sabine nodded and took a deep breath, bearing down and letting out a yelp as more of the baby’s head emerged.
As she waited for the next contraction, the top of the baby’s head retreated and then appeared again.
Sabine instinctively stuck her hand between her legs and guided Ezra’s hand as well to feel their daughter.
“I’m so proud of you” Ezra whispered, kissing her cheek.
The next few pushes produced some inhuman noises and lots of cussing, but brought the head all the way out.
“Thank god!” Sabine cried out, her body drenched in sweat and her heart threatening to beat out of her chest.
“With the next contraction, you should have her out” the midwife said, encouragingly.
Sabine composed herself and pushed with no result. She pushed again, harder than the last, but the baby didn’t budge.
“What’s happening? W-why isn’t she coming?” Sabine asked, attempting to push again.
“Her shoulders are stuck. Ezra, help me get her on her back.”
The next few minutes were a blur and Sabine’s screams were only drowned out by the sound of their daughter crying.
The midwife placed the baby on Sabine’s chest and Sabine looked to Ezra, who was crying.
“I love you so much” he said.
He kissed Sabine’s forehead and then kissed their daughter’s as well.
“She’s so beautiful” he said, admiring her black hair and delicate features.
“Do you have a name picked out?”
“Mira Wren-Bridger” Ezra said, not taking his eyes off Sabine and the baby.
The baby was cleaned off and dressed and Sabine fell asleep, overly exhausted from the events of the day, leaving Ezra alone with Mira.
He picked her up in her blanket and held her close, promising her that he was going to protect her and her mom, and that her life was going to be nothing like his.

Ahsoka- Notes on Episode 5 “Shadow Warrior” and Kiner’s score
Episode 5 begins with mystical sounds of Seatos, including the sound of the ocean waves and mysterious music as the setting is established. When Hera appears at the henge, the music subtly suggests the selections from the Rebels soundtrack associated with Kanan’s death (see “Nobody More than Kanan” and “Kanan’s End Credits”). A sweet, innocent sounding theme is associated with Jacen when he exits the Ghost with Chopper. Hera sees that Huyang has recovered Sabine’s helmet, but she and Ahsoka are nowhere in sight.
youtube
youtube
The Ahsoka main and episode titles appear, followed by a continuation of Ahsoka and Anakin in the World Between Worlds scene from the previous episode. Quiet music accompanies their conversation until the duel begins.
Back at the henge Jacen says there is something about the water. Music becomes a little more intense when Jacen and Hera listen. When Jacen says he hears lightsabers, both a segment of Kanan’s Theme by Kevin Kiner (flute) and the Force Theme by John Williams (French horn) can be heard. The music is used to enhance the idea that young Jacen is Force sensitive like his father, Kanan. Hera orders her pilots to continue the search for Ahsoka. Kanan’s theme is heard once more when Huyang explains to Carson Teva that Jacen’s father was a Jedi.
Ahsoka’s duel with Anakin continues. Ahsoka’s Theme is heard after she kicks Anakin in the head and says “Looks like you don’t have much left to offer.”
A scene of young Ahsoka with Anakin during the Clone Wars follows, accompanied by incidental music that doesn’t refer to major themes.
Ahsoka’s Theme is heard when she comforts the wounded soldier on Ryloth.
Jacen remains at the henge with Chopper as Hera, Huyang, and the surviving pilots continue the search.
During the scene of young Ahsoka at the Siege of Mandalore, an augmented presentation of the heroic Clones’ theme can be heard during and after Rex’s dialogue. (The note values are elongated. Listen to the trumpet part.) Ahsoka’s theme is heard during her conversation with Anakin. The music becomes more sinister and intense when Anakin/Vader draws his lightsaber and another duel begins.
Adult Ahsoka duels Vader in the World Between Worlds. Music ceases when she deactivates her saber and says “I choose to live.” The score resumes when Anakin says “There’s hope for you yet.” Mysterious music with a choral vocalization accompanies her descent into the water. She is rescued by the X-Wing pilots.
Ahsoka’s theme plays as the ships return to the henge. Peaceful music featuring the piano is heard as Ahsoka awakens aboard her Jedi starship. Sabine’s theme is heard when Huyang hands Ahsoka the broken star map. Ahsoka uses psychometric powers to examine the map. She discovers that Sabine went with Baylan and the others aboard the Eye of Sion.
When Ahsoka sees the Purrgil flying across the sky, the hopeful-sounding ostinato that I associate with Sabine’s search for Ezra is heard. This is the same ostinato that plays during the “Path to Peridea” portion of the end credits music. Ahsoka’s priorities have changed. She is now concerned with finding Sabine and Ezra rather than stopping the war.
An augmented version of the “Path to Peridea” becomes a theme with a definite conclusion as the scene ends.
Hera talks with Mon Mothma’s hologram. Hera’s command is in jeapordy of permanent suspension.
Beautiful, majestic music accompanies the starships’ flight through the purrgil pod.
Incidental music that is a little tense but non-threatening accompanies Carson Tera’s conversation with the New Republic ship captain.
Majestic music accompanies Ahsoka’s communication with the Purrgil through the Force. The “Path to Peridea” ostinato resumes when Ahsoka returns to the interior of her ship, this time presented in counterpoint with Ahsoka’s theme. The ostinato is heard (sometimes with doubled pitches) throughout the scene with the New Republic starships until the purrgil pod jumps into hyperspace with Ahsoka’s ship.
As I stated in my episode 4 breakdown, the closing credits music begins with the now-familiar presentation of Kiner’s “ronin” theme, the duet for viola and cello with a pavane-like rhythmic accompaniment. This accompaniment continues during Sabine’s theme. The hopeful-sounding ostinato that I associate with the search for Ezra Bridger plays along the “Path to Peridea” portion of the journey across the star-map. The ostinato continues, accompanying an augmented version of Ahsoka’s theme. A triumphant presentation of Ahsoka’s Theme plays as all of the golden lines meet at Peridea. Hera’s Theme, featuring the French horns, strings, and trumpets plays as the credits continue against the black background, followed by the final reprise of Ahsoka’s theme.
This is the second episode of Ahsoka in which Ezra’s Theme is not heard even though he is mentioned. This might be the first episode that featured Kanan’s theme in association with Jacen’s Force sensitivity.
Edit: I realized there were hints of Kanan’s theme in the previous episodes when I listened to the Ahsoka Soundtrack album for episodes 1-4. I didn’t notice it when I watched the episode on Disney Plus though.

wouldn't it be funny if shin somehow was given a jetpack from one of the mandalorians while her and sabine were visiting mandalore
sabine, ahsoka, and bo-katan would be conversing together over tea and uj'alayi, as they do; while shin was at the great forge with the armorer, as she does
there was this young apprentice of the armorer's who is crafting the jetpacks, right, and they need someone to test it out because their test-person is currently out testing another jetpack; they saw shin just sitting around reading, so they called her
"you want me to what?" shin repeated, not quite understanding what the apprentice told her to do
"try out the jetpack," the apprentice persists, like it's the most obvious thing ever, "my friend is out testing, and i need this jetpack finished today. i can't concur if it's ready or not without testing."
"i do not even know how to use this thing."
"it's easier than you'd think. the controls are in the vambraces." the apprentice quickly shoves shin a pair of vambraces, and began instructing a guide. "this tells it to go up, this is to land. it's intuitive, so it will follow your movement."
shin tuts, despite understanding the jetpack's controls. "this does not feel correct. i am not the armorer's apprentice."
the apprentice groans, desperate. "wolf, please. i don't want to work overtime today! it's my sister's birthday and i want to celebrate."
shin stares at the young apprentice in front of her, yellow helmet seems to echo the pleading eyes underneath it. she sighed, snatching the vambraces. "fine. but if the armorer, or worse ahsoka, finds out, you are responsible for this."
the apprentice cheered, victorious. "yes, yes, okay. try it on, wolf!"
shin rolled her eyes as she strips off her vambraces to put on the pair the apprentice gave her. she puts on the back piece of beskar that connects the jetpack, and the apprentice returns with a breastplate and a helmet to complete the look, which further confuses shin
"why are you handing me a helmet?"
"if you fly around without one, you'll lose your head."
shin grumbles, but the apprentice does have a point. after she puts on the breastplate and the helmet, it took her a while to adjust to feeling of beskar and the helmet. looking through the visor, she realises it adds more depth to her vision and it's programmed to fly
"okay," shin spoke, mildly entertained by her filtered voice through the helmet, "where do i fly to?"
"make a round trip from here to the center square. that should be enough to test it out."
shin nodded. she breathes in, trying out the controls in her vambrace, and slowly began to lift off the ground higher. the apprentice cheered, encouraging her to take off, so shin did
she immediately takes off from the great forge, and fly out some great height that made her blood rush in ways she's never did before, maneuvering through buildings and up to the sky above her
shin began to make her way to the center square; flying this freely feels so unfamiliar to her, yet it's also so natural. like she was born fly this freely. it's so different than flying a starfighter, shin thinks
just as shin sees the center square ahead of her, she hears someone else flying on her right, and another one shows not far behind her left. shin's helmet notifies an incoming transmission, and when she looks to the right, there sabine was with her identifiable brightly coloured beskar
"alright, apprentice. you're not cleared for a testing schedule today, so we're gonna have to escort your landing," comes in bo-katan's voice through the transmission in her helmet
sabine's voice chimes in, "i really hope for your sake, the armorer is in a good mood today, kid."
shin sighs, nodding as she began to descend, followed closely by bo-katan and sabine on her sides. but, just as she was closing in for a landing, the jetpack stutters, engines hacking away and making her unstable, before completely shutting off and threw her in a freefall
luckily, both sabine and bo-katan came to her aid and grabs her arms as they slowed down her eventful landing at the center square. when they're all on steady ground, shin watch as the mand'alor and sabine takes off their helmets, and she takes it as her cue to remove hers
sabine's eyes are wide in disbelief as she exclaims, "shin?! what the hell were you doing with a jetpack?"
shin had to contain her amusement, shrugging instead. "one of the armorer's apprentice needed someone to test this out. i was free, so i did it."
"well, that explains the unscheduled flying," bo-katan points out with a laugh, shaking her head. "alright, let's go back to the forge and return the jetpack. clearly, the apprentice still needs to do some fixing with the engine."
"ah, about that," shin hesitantly began, earning a curious look from the two mandalorian women, "the apprentice told me they wanted to go home quickly. their sister is celebrating a birthday. i do not wish to keep them at their workshop for too long."
bo-katan shared looks with sabine, conversing in silence as shin remains waiting for their decisions. the mand'alor sighs, nodding her head at shin to follow her as they make their way to a workshop
shin eventually returns to the great forge on flight, landing clumsily beside the apprentice's workshop. the apprentice waits expectantly, watching closely as shin takes off her helmet and unclasps the beskar
"well? how was it?" the apprentice asks as they help shin takes off the jetpack
"bo-katan and sabine escorted me to land on the center square. they told me i was flying on an unscheduled testing," shin replies, putting heavy emphasis on the last part
the apprentice shifts, guilty. "i'm sorry. i'll clear that with the mand'alor."
shin's lips quirk to a small smile, patting the apprentice's helmet. "worry not. i explained to bo-katan, and the mand'alor understands your situation. sabine also already fixed the engine, it had a little issue earlier."
"what?!" the apprentice squealed, panic in their voice. "what happened?"
"it ran fine, had some trouble with the landing sequence, i suppose," shin explains factually, and when the apprentice frets, she knocks on their helmet, "worry not, i told you. sabine already fixed it. she left an instruction guide for you to learn from the mistake in the helmet, so you do not need to be staying here for your sister's birthday."
the apprentice looks up at shin, and the blonde padawan can only guess their eyes are glimmering underneath the helmet. "thank you so much, wolf. i'll be sure to pass my thanks to the mand'alor and commander wren as well."
shin then contemplates on something for a little, before replying in mando'a, "ba'gedet'ye, ad'ika." the language was still foreign on her tongue, but she feels that it's appropriate
when the apprentice left, shin made her way back to the armorer's station, picking up her book. the armorer was there, in the middle of writing something on her desk
"did one of my apprentice trouble you?" the armorer asks, but her tone indicated that she knew the answer already
shin shook her head. "no. they only required some help. i happen to be free to help them."
the armorer made a humming noise. "who was it?"
"i did not ask their name," shin asnwers, "they had a yellow helmet, with blue line on their visor."
"ah," the armorer recognises, "yes, i know them. a little feisty troublemaker that one, atin ferro. very exceptionally skilled in assembling sen'tra."
"they are," shin agrees
"you tried flying it?"
"yes."
"how was it?" the armorer asks, curious of shin's opinion on the device
shin contemplates for a little. "it was... like i've never imagined before. i felt so free. it is different from flying a ship or a starfighter."
the armorer nodded. "it is. we take pride in it."
shin smiles, soft snd small. "i know."
the armorer stands, walking towards shin as she places a gentle gloved hand on her back. "come along now. i believe the mand'alor is looking for us. and your jedi master, too."
shin nodded as the two made their way to the grand palace, arriving to the grand throne welcomed by bo-katan sitting at the head of the table, followed by an empty seat to her right, din and grogu by her left, ahsoka across of din, and sabine next to din. the armorer made a beeline to the empty seat next to bo-katan as shin made her way to sit across sabine
sabine grins at shin the moment she sat down. "you're growing more mandalorian the more time we spend here, flying around in a sen'tra."
to that ahsoka turns to sabine, looks at shin, and shoots a questioningly amused look at sabine. "what did you mean shin is flying around in a jetpack?"
"i told you, i was helping an apprentice of the armorer's," shin sighed at sabine as she repeats the reason why she was in a jetpack, "you are acting as if i stole their device and took a joyride."
"hey, i wouldn't blame you. it'd be fun."
"yes, of course you'd find stealing the armorer's devices fun, ad'ika. you, are a little menace." bo-katan laughs from across the table, as if the idea of sabine sneaking around the armorer's inventory isn't surprising to her at all, as the rest of the table echoes the mand'alor's laugh
bo-katan had thrown a small gathering to celebrate; she didn't exactly specify the occasion or the reason for said gathering, but no one is surprised. if anyone asks, the mand'alor is either celebrating sabine becoming the first mandalorian jedi in their current lifetime after tarre vizsla, or celebrating mandalore's new liberation day
shin initially felt a little out of place; everyone in this table had known each other prior, and she doesn't. the only two people she knows are sabine and ahsoka, so she mostly listens to them exchanging war stories to fill both ahsoka and sabine in, or any news that they might have missed during their time stranded on the other galaxy
sabine had included shin into the conversations as best, whenever she could. the mandalorian padawan would excitedly tell the table how incredibly skilled shin is as a warrior, even went so far to claim she would make a fine mandalorian apprentice, something that made shin's ears flush red under her curtains of bone-white blonde
(it doesn't help that ahsoka and bo-katan had knowing smiles on their face as sabine says so)
the armorer, in response to sabine's claims, voices out, "i agree with commander wren. i'd be highly honoured to have her as mine own apprentice."
sabine grins widely as shin had a disbelieving look on her face as if she couldn't believe her ears. her eyes dances around the table, meeting ahsoka's agreeing expression on her face, echoed by bo-katan's approving smile
"though," ahsoka began with her usual cheeky smile, raising her cup for a sip, "i believe you would have to battle general syndulla to the death for shin."
shin had a questioning look on her face, while sabine laughs across of her. "i love hera, but my bets are on the armorer. i think shin looks dashing in beskar."
the armorer laughs, a rare expression from her, evidently amused by the prospect. "as much as i agree with commander wren," she nods at shin's direction, "i believe any choices that are to be made comes back to her own decision."
shin feels a lot of proud and welcoming eyes on her, her insides suddenly feels so warm. she recalls the last time someone held her so highly in pride and she had felt so wanted; her previous master, baylan. and now, she was deemed worthy enough to be considered to become the armorer's apprentice
"i..." shin began, but truly unsure on what to say. her eyes dart towards ahsoka, and the jedi master nods understandingly, calming her through the force. shin breathes, before continuing, "i am beyond honoured to be considered with such offer. i am still unsure if that is the path for me currently, and if it is acceptable by you, mand'alor, and the armorer, perhaps i could think on it for the moment before i come to any decisions."
bo-katan shares a glance with the armorer, silently conversing with each other, before they both nod. the armorer spoke, "that is acceptable. you are welcomed anytime you feel ready."
shin's face lights up, beaming, almost matching sabine's grin and ahsoka's proud smile. the mand'alor raises her cup for a toast as the whole table cheers
later on that night, in the shared quarters with sabine within the palace, shin is polishing her new pauldrons made from an alloy of her old pauldrons mixed with beskar, marvelling at the silver-ish beauty of the raw and unpainted pieces. her lightsaber is sat perfectly next to sabine's and her pile of beskar pieces
sabine exits the refresher with a pair of loose sleep pants and her black fitting tanktop, a trail of steam followed her close behind. shin can sense sabine leaning against the wall and watching her from her periphery, trying to ignore sabine's thoughts
"cyar'ika," sabine calls softly, and shin had to pretend as if the mando'a petname isn't sending shivers down her spine. the mandalorian walks towards the bed, sitting on the edge, eyes never leaving shin
shin simply hummed in response. sabine tuts. the blonde padawan sighs, putting down her pauldrons. "what is it?"
sabine smiles when their eyes met. there's something swimming behind those honeyed brown eyes, shin can sense it. "nothing. you're just..."
shin watches as sabine gets up from the bed to strut towards her, looping her arms around shin's neck as she sat herself on her lap. sabine tucks her curtains behind one ear, a ghost of a smirk on her lips as shin's reddish earlobe is visible. sabine's eyes are wild as they dart from shin's eyes to her lips
sabine leans down to kiss shin, instinctively making the blonde padawan wrap her arms around sabine's torso to pull her closer towards herself. the mandalorian grabs the side of shin's face to tilt her up so sabine can deepen the kiss, hungry for more
"gar mesh'la," sabine rasped out in between gasps over shin's lips
shin groans softly against sabine. "bed?"
sabine nods, eyes hazy and lidded. "gedet'ye."
shin smirks, kissing sabine as she picks her mandalorian up and pins her down to the bed, kissing down sabine's neck
shin thinks she'll be learning something else tonight

No, The world between worlds is not in Rise of Skywalker
People will just come up with anything won't they?
Apparently it's a not too uncommon belief that the wbw is in ROS
Why?
Well, there seems to be 2 reasons given for why
1. Because during the final battle with Palpatine Rey looks up to the starry sky and hears voices...
Ok, this one is deeply rooted in "it looks/sounds the same therefore it is the same"
Additionally, this is not how the world between worlds works
The world between worlds is explicitly another dimension (and we'll cover how you even get there later) that has windows into different points in time, past and future, the people in said windows cannot interact with you because they exist in their own points in time
In ROS, Rey hears the voice of multiple deceased Jedi, people who she has never met, addressing her directly, that alone is proof that it is not the wbw (I mean there's a lot of easy definitive proof that this isn't the wbw because the basis for it being such is flimsy but I digress), because the wbw offers windows into the past/present/future, and more importantly, the people in those windows cannot interact with a person seeing them through the wbw
Furthermore, Rey communing with the deceased Jedi is a case of narrative payoff
In her first scene the film establishes that Rey has been trying to commune with the spirits of past Jedi, this scene is her finally accomplishing that goal, this isn't anything deeper, it's basic story structure, you set your protagonist up with a goal, and you have the achieve it at the climax/near the end
Reason 2.
Books
Frikken books
See, apparently because the one of the sacred Jedi texts talks about the wbw, that equals it being in the film
Now I actually own and have read the ROS visual dictionary, and here's what it has to say about the wbw:
Tumblr media
"Unattributed visualization of the chain wotlrlds theorem, also known as the world between worlds, or vergence scatter"
That's it, that's the full extent of the wbw being "in" ROS, it's never is brought up in the movie, we never read the book it's in, all we have is a visual dictionary saying "this page of this book has doodles of the wbw"
Also, something people really need to understand is that these books don't really mean anything
They're not hard immutable canon that the films must adhere to, they're written by different people from the movies often with little input between the two
Visual dictionaries don't really matter, they're just "books of neat facts"
By the way, this whole page is not something that should be taken at face value, it is noted here that these books are rich in metaphor a blend myth and history
So yeah, wbw ain't in ROS
So why do people want it to be in ROS?
So they can have a way to undo the sequels
(Thanks to @tarisilmarwen for this)
Tumblr media
Yeah, the wbw can't do that
That's kinda what the whole episode of Rebels is about, Ezra can't use it to change time, and why can't he do so? Well, because:
A. He doesn't know what will happen, butterfly effect and whatnot, the results could spiral out of control and he could just make things worse
B. Paradox, the bigger issue, if Ezra saves Kanan, well that means Kanan is no longer holding back the explosion, thus Sabine, Hera, and most importantly, Ezra himself will die
C. Its wrong to change time, it's fundamentally un-Jedi like, its taking the universe and countless lives and bending them to what you want, its selfish, that's not what the Jedi are, a true Jedi would never do this, to change time like this is what a sith would do
Which gets into
Temptation, the wbw is temptation for Ezra
That is the narrative purpose of the wbw in Rebels, it comes at a point where Ezra is at his lowest, its a test for him, will he remain true to the way of the Jedi? Or will he give in to the dark side?
But why he could save ahsoka?
Well here’s the thing, did he?  Did he save ahsoka?
Or was that always meant to happen?
See, saving ahsoka doesn't cause a paradox because we already knew ahsoka survived, we saw her reenter the malachor temple at the end of Season 2 (there’s a serious bit of revisionist history going on here where people either forget this or outright ignore this fact) she was already alive, Ezra didn’t change the past, he caused it to happen the way it happened, its a closed loop
“But what about Palpatine?”  Surely him trying to gain control over the wbw proves that you can in fact use it to change time right?
no
Palpatine’s attempt to control the wbw doesn’t mean it can change time
Palpatine certainly thinks he can rule time, but more importantly he doesn’t care if messing with time causes paradoxes or catastrophic consequences
Whether the rules regarding changing the past are soft (you can't change the past because you have no idea what will happen) or hard (you can't change the past because you'll create reality destroying paradoxes), Palpatine would do so anyways
Palpatine is fundamentally a selfish sociopathic person, he'll destroy everything if he can rule the ruins
And even if he can't alter time, the knowledge the wbw grants is dangerous, its a window into the past and future, using it Palpatine could have learned of the existence of the Skywalker twins early, or where surviving Jedi have hidden, or seen how he dies, Palpatine knowing these things could lead to disastrous consequences
Lastly we get to how one enters the wbw, (and why it's obvious that the wbw isn't in ROS)
For starters, you can't just accidentally end up in the wbw, as the claim for it being in ROS relies on, to get to the wbw, you need to be in the right place, and actively trying to get there
In Rebels Ezra enters the wbw through a gateway in the Lothal Jedi Temple
So yeah, you can't just stumble through it randomly
But more importantly, it's a Jedi Temple that he enters through, aka a place of the light
So why in God's name would you be able to just accidentally enter the wbw on exegol, aka sith cult planet?
The answer: you can't
(Also if a way into the wbw is on exegol why isn't Palpatine focusing on that?)
The wbw, a place that is specifically out of reach of the sith/dark side, has only ever been accessed through gateways in areas of the light
That's why Palpatine needed Ezra to get it, that's why he had to use a dark side ritual to try and capture Ezra and Ahsoka while they were in the wbw, he could effect them but not it, and of course it is why the wbw is not in Rise of Skywalker
Goodbye, and use critical thinking skills

In Another Life
Synopsis:
When Ezra left and sacrificed himself, He didn't just leave behind his family and friends but the person who he promised to love. When Sabine finds him, he learned not to ask certain things
Genre: Angst.
Note: This is from Ezra's point of view. And AFAB reader and yes Katy Perry reference because ugh it hurts so bad.
_________________________________
How long has it been? How long has he been stuck here, wherever here really was. How long has it been since he lost it all for the sake of saving his home planet? He really didn't know, perhaps he also doesn't want to know. Sure he knows that somewhere deep inside that his friends-no his family is looking for him. Sabine would use that stubborn head if hers just to find him, he bets that Hera and Zeb would do the same although a bit subtle, and you, his lovely girl, he just knows that you're out there somewhere using all your connections. He smiles at that.
He closes his eyes remembering the night before his sacrifice. The sky was beautiful in Lothal, the Loth cats surround you both in the field he found. The sky was beautiful but they couldn't compare to you.
"Ezra, do you think when the Empire is destroyed, we can grow up like normal teenagers and adults?" You asked him so meekly.
He had to take a breath before he answered since he remembered the little message he recorded for you and Sabine.
"I sure hope so. I would like to not always be in a life and death situation and it would ease my mind to know that you aren't in one as well." Ezra said as he looked at you.
"Maybe we can live in your tower, have a pet Loth cat and maybe we can visit Sabine in Mandalore too." You said hopeful.
Ezra feels guilty for what he knows he's going to do and honestly he doesn't know what to say or how to tell you that with what he's planning to do, he might not even get that future with you. So he lies with a smile instead, adding onto your fantasy, one that he's had in a while as well.
"How many Loth cats do you want? We can have as much as you want. I can even move some of my prized helmets to make more space for us." Ezra said as he closed his eyes.
"The helmets, we should put them in a nice glass case so we can admire all the helmets you've collected. And we can put your lightsaber on display." You said happily.
That was the last happy memory he had with you. The day he chose to exile himself, you were knocked unconscious during a fight, this didn't get to hear Ezra's farewell. He asked Sabine to watch over you and tell you that he loves you and that he was sorry.
After that all he's known were these creatures native to this planet. He was in exile but Thrawn found this time to rebuild and make connections with the dark mothers and the other scavengers on this planet. While he lived on the run, once again protecting these creatures that he slowly began to care for.
When Sabine arrived on the planet that she told him was called Peridea, she mentioned how he's been gone for a decade. The resistance won, the empire, the emperor and Darth Vader were all gone. Luke Skywalker brought back the Jedi Order, Leia Organa is now a senator, Hera is now a general and a mother, Kallus and Zeb are married and that she was living in his tower. It was night time already and the rest of the alien friends that Ezra had made were fast asleep. Happy as he might be hearing those life stories he asked Sabine the most important one to him.
"Where's (Y/N) now? What's she up to nowadays? Is she with someone? I mean I wouldn't mind if she was, I mean I've been gone for a decade she can do that. I mean I also just left without a goodbye an-" Sabine cut off Ezra's ramblings.
Sabine looked sullen and wracked with guilt as she looked at Ezra. He knew, he had a feeling that whatever he would hear, this wasn't going to be any good.
"Ezra, after you left, (Y/N) decided that she was going to try and find you. She searched everywhere, until Cassian Andor and her met. He recruited her into a mission to steal the blueprints of the death star." Sabine said solemnly.
"And? You said we won. I guess they succeeded then." Ezra said.
"They did. They succeeded which in turn allowed us to win, but at the cost of everyone part of that mission's lives." Sabine concluded.
Ezra felt his heart shatter. You were dead? The one who kept him sane on this planet, one of his reasons to return. You were well and truly gone? He never got to apologize to you for abandoning you. He hasn't told you how being apart from you was like losing half of himself in the process, how the sun doesn't shine as brightly. How he loves you and longs for you. Now all these words will be left unsaid.
"I'm sorry Ezra. I failed to protect her and I couldn't keep my promise." Sabine apologized, teary eyed.
And Ezra snapped out of his downward spiral. He may have lost the love of his life but for Sabine, she lost her sister, she lost the person who she considered her best friend and he hugged her.
"I'm sorry I made you relive all that." Ezra apologized.
"Don't apologize Ezra. I knew you'd ask about her. When (Y/N) died, I felt it in the force, Ahsoka did too. We felt frozen when that happened. I felt so useless. I talked to her before they executed the mission. I told her that I thought I had a lead on you and I got mad when she said that it didn't matter if I told her or not." Sabine said softly.
She wiped her tears as she looked up at the sky.
"I guess she just didn't want to tell me that it was a suicide mission. That no matter what happens, she would end up. Dead. She didn't leave a message like you did. But apparently she left letters. So once you get back, ask chopper about it." Sabine said a sad smile on her face.
"You know, it's funny how life works. I sacrificed myself so that she can find a way to live peacefully and she does the same thing. Funny how I'm still alive and she isn't." Ezra said looking up at the night sky.
Sabine let Ezra rest his head on her shoulder as he let out a deep exhale. He was saddened by the news, that wasn't really surprising. Sabine used to tell you that you and Ezra were made to be together. It's why she was so utterly devastated by your loss. She knew that if she ever found Ezra telling him about your untimely death and sacrifice would break his heart.
"You know we both moved into your tower. She arranged your helmet collection when she got enough credit to buy a nice case. She said it was her way of fulfilling both of your dreams." Sabine said trying to lighten up the mood.
"She did? I thought she'd be mad at me and throw them out or sell them." Ezra said.
"Nah, (Y/N) cared for those helmets and told me that if anyone tried to take those away from her to put on display since they made a mural of us in Lothal, she said she would steal them." Sabine said chuckling to herself.
"Oh knowing (Y/N) she would even care if people saw her stealing it. She'd say something along the lines of 'its private property and you took it' or 'is it really theft if I own it?'. She's too snarky to get caught." Ezra said with a smile.
"Word of advice, when you return to your tower in Lothal, there's a box labelled with her name on it. Inside is this really thick journal she has. It's addressed to you." Sabine said as she moved to her designated resting spot, beside her howler.
"I thought you lived in the tower?" Ezra asked.
"I did but it was more like ensuring that you'd have a familiar place to return too. Plus there's a loth cat there, use your weird animal speech thing." Sabine joked.
"Thanks Sabine." Ezra said.
When the time came for their escape from Peridea, sure he was alone in Thrawn's ship once more, as Sabine decided to stay behind with Ahsoka. A decision he accepted as he watched as his friend and someone he sees as a sister fight side by side just to get him home.
Once back to the galaxy he once left behind, he had a feeling of both excitement and happiness but also longing. He was excited to see his family. He hasn't seen Hera, Zeb, Kallus and chopper in so long and now he has a new face to see, the last link he has of his late master, Jacen. Yet he can never fully feel at home, not when a piece of him was lost forever once he learned of your demise from Sabine.
When he arrived at the resistance base, it was bittersweet. Hugging Hera felt like he was grounded back in reality. He was home, but not really. Home would've been in your arms, in his tower in Lothal, living out your days in domestic bliss. So once he's caught up with everyone, he asks Hera if he can go back to Lothal, to his tower. Hera didn't object, just led him to the ghost with Jacen chattering away. He felt happy seeing Jacen, so young and full of life. He would make for a great Jedi one day.
"We're here Ezra." Hera spoke as she opened the ship's door and lowered its ramp on Ezra's tower.
"We'll visit you often uncle Ezra!" Jacen said happily.
"If you need anything, just message us on our commlink." Hera added.
"Yeah, thanks again Hera. Take care of yourself now, okay Jacen? Don't be reckless." Ezra said trying faux seriousness.
"Of course!" Jacen said happily.
As soon as the ghost was out of sight, he entered the doors, the lock was still the same. Once inside he noticed the subtle changes. Bunk beds, a chest under the lower bunk with Sabine's things, a small bed for a loth cat, and in the far corner, next to a glass case filled with his collection of helmets was a chest with your name on it. He immediately walks towards it, opening it delicately. There he sees four journals, all labelled, for Ezra.
He opens the very first one and a soft smile graces his lips.
Sabine and I moved into your tower. We wanted to stay close to Lothal, keep it safe and also to form some roots. We have been very busy though.
Dear Ezra,
We moved into your tower, we wanted to stay close to Lothal. Watch over your home planet as much as we can. Although we have been quite busy. Since we are now formally part of the resistance, we have been taking a lot of missions. Sometime together, sometimes apart. I miss you. I wish I wasn't knocked unconscious when you left. I would have loved to hear your voice one last time. I'm not giving up though. In between missions I ask around if people have any known locations of a star whale's path. I may come up empty handed but it won't stop me from trying. I know you're out there. We'll find you. I promise.
Yours always, (Y/N).
But Ezra wanted to look for one specific letter, the one Sabine said was written before your mission with Cassian Andor. Once he picked up the last journal, he realized it only had one entry in it.
Dear Ezra,
I'm so sorry my search has been quite fruitless. Sabine and I never gave up though. I write this last entry now a few days away from our intended mission. We still need to find a certain person but by then we'll be too busy fixing our plan and I won't be able to write anymore. Something about this mission tells me that it might be our last. The blueprints of the death star are highly guarded and the planet is crawling with empire scum. Cassian told me that, he believes we can all go home. I don't really believe that. I hope you won't be too mad or upset with me. I am doing this so that we can no longer live in fear for the next day. For what the empire might do to us. I know that wherever you may be, I know that my love will reach you. I hope Sabine can continue what we started and find a way to get you back. Perhaps in another life, we could have the life that we talked about in that field. Maybe more. I would have loved to see what our future would have been like. To grow old with you, build a life together and a home. In another life, I know we would have had a happy life but I would never ask you to change. My Starboy. My Ezra. My love. My heart is yours forever and always. May the force be with you.
Forever yours, (Y/N).
Ezra clutched that journal to his chest, letting his tears fall freely down his face. He has time to read the other journals next time but for now he wishes to close his eyes and dream of a life where he never left and you lived past twenty. But he knows that you'll always be with him. In the force and in his heart. In your words, He's forever yours.

The azure sky above was fitted with puffy white clouds- the sea calm in contrast to the blood that seeped onto Baratie's front dock. How Nami and Usopp raced behind their captain to Zoro's side. How Luffy's cries for their bloodied crew mate to live, were deafening. And how Sabine stood firm as if stuck in cement, fingers turning white from the grip on her rosary.
Her heart hammered in her chest. Blood rushed to her head blurring her vision with black spots. And an incessant ringing echoed in her ears.
Time felt frozen as she watched him glide to her, his heavy footsteps creaking on the dock. Closer. And closer. She couldn't move, not with the way tears pricked her waterline and bile rose in her throat. Eyes flickering between the two swordsman as a frigid breeze of alarm made her entire body shiver.
"My dear," Mihawk spoke calmly, as if he hadn't just struck down Zoro in a battle he needn't break a sweat. Only inches from her, Mihawk removed his hat, holding it over his heart as his mouth ran dry. His eyes ate her petit figure up and his stomach lurched from how her beauty struck him. Everything from last night came rushing back and if he'd known a simple conversation would be life changing, he'd have not let her walk away.
Sabine opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. She craned to look up at him. In daylight she was captivated by him. Last night, at the bar, hadn't done him justice. How the air was robbed from her lungs as all she could do was shake her head, "why.."
Mihawk had no answer as he re-situated his hat back upon his head, then running a hand to brush along her headpiece down to her veil. She flinched in return as his large fingers caressed her shoulder, "Sister Mary Sabine, last night you changed my trajectory for better and for worse. And I'm a man who knows what he wants, then gets it."
"I don't understand," she squeaked out, their surroundings blocking out. Yells of her friends as they carried Zoro to the boat, how she should have been with them tossed to the back of her mind. The panicked looks as they saw how close Mihawk was to Sabine, someone with no ability to fight an enemy off. But trust was left that Mihawk had no business with a nun as they carried the green haired swordsman out of sight. She was alone- with him.
Mihawk showed no change in emotion, only an unsettling and uncommon softness to his gaze, "however I am not cruel. I understand your situation, so I'll tell you this- after your sabbatical I will come find you. And I'll respect either decision you make, but I plan to make you mine if you choose to leave the sisterhood."
An inhuman gasp stifled in her throat, her eyes widened by his wild proclamation, "M-Mihawk."
In a slick motion, Mihawk removed the thick cross branded (Mihawk branded) ring he adorned. Suddenly grasping her dainty wrist he forced the piece of jewelry into her palm, "so a piece of me is with you always. Think of me until we meet again in many months time, little one."
"You can't- you can't just say that! You- Zoro might die because of you!" Anger finally bubbled over. Sabine snapped from her trance as her fist tightened around the ring, she took a step closer to him before he could turn away.
"You felt it last night, no?"
His question took her aback. Just as quick as she found a confidence to get mad, it subsided as her shoulders dropped. Because she felt it. She'd told herself last night as she laid in bed tipsy from the wine, that if that was how true love felt, she'd never want anyone else. She'd want him.

side note— there’d be a background and chapter 1 prior to this (this would be in ch 2) so if there’s some confusion that’s why lol this is like from the middle of the chapter
