halloween doesn't exist in 2099 bc it faded out of popularity in the late 2040s but xina's obsession w the past led her to keep it alive in her house so every october she puts out the decorations, leaves candy in every crevice of her apartment, and forces someone to coordinate a costume with her so they can watch old scary movies. miguel doesn't really get it but he likes seeing her have fun and he thinks of her every time he sees a skeleton
