The odds that a retail worker has carefully clambered over the wall of boxed soda cases located three inches out from the wall with no other entrance to retrieve a fallen glazed donut from waste is low, but never zero.

#'hot damn' says scout biting into a raspberry bismark in the back 'I have *earned* this 15-minute break'#cool and fun suggestion to my boss! let's NOT double donut production for pumpkin spice season!#for that matter--let's also not drastically increase my shift's tasks and delegate managerial tasks onto the lowest-paid #but no. i just threw out full pans each of cinnamon rolls apple fritters and fluff bars and every cell in my body cried out in pain #(fun fact now I mention! at one point I worked in a bakery specializing in donuts! a friend even gave me a donut pusheen.)#in a better universe I was homer simpson/j #I love this job in an odd sort of way. it keeps me sane
