I venture into Tumblr's fyp. I see posts I've blacklisted because they were tagged christmas or xmas. I click view post. They are all about cnovel characters. I remember why I blacklisted the tag and why I should not click view post. The cycle continues

#i am such a killjoy i'm sorry #but also i am a bit fed up with white usamericans on this site #'how mdzs characters celebrate christmas' they don't. they're chinese. hope this helps #maybe they give a gift or two or go out for dinner in modern day china :)#but they are not having family over and decorating trees or whatever #and yeah. there are diaspora who celebrate #but it's especially the diaspora aus that grate on me when written by white people #something something you don't respect different cultures you just want them to assimilate into your own #i don't see even a quarter of the hype or headcanons or fics going around for any of chinas major holidays except lunar new year #or even dongzhi festival. you know. winter solstice
