I'm a nurse aide, not a punching bag
#at least tonight i don't have any combative residents#but last night i got hit multiple times by 2 different residents and one poked me in the eye#i get paid to give care not to get beat up#and the facilities don't give a fuck not like there's much that can be done anyways though unfortunately#'oh yeah he does that' no shit sherlock doesn't take much detective work to figure that shit out#and it's not like we can do anything back its even illegal to restrain them#so i guess they just expect us to take it and deal with it#its fine i know what i signed up for its just as a traumatized person its not something that i wanna be dealing with#then people wanna act like they know when they don't even work in the field like no you don't#i get they have dementia i get they don't know what's going on#i do and say everything I'm suppose to in those situations and it never deesculates them#im tired of being beat up on and flirted with and assaulted by old people#this is why i need to finish my schooling because i can't be doing this shit for the rest of my life
