hey, have u seen the Sweeney Todd tonys performance? i had no idea gaten was in it! & as you have made me associate many sondheim things with them, i am now thinking of Dustin getting further into drama in high school and Steve & Eddie losing their minds when he gets cast as Toby (in a probably illegal production… that’d probably raise eyebrows because of the subject matter & Hawkins’s general everything but eh maybe the drama department is like, this is how we cope???! lol)

Hi! I did know Gaten was in the revival! I'm so excited for him :') (When I started answering this ask I hadn't seen the Tony performance yet but now I have GATEENNNNNNNN love to see a New Jersey King winning love u Gavroche.) And YES God I love this so much, we already know Dustin did some type of drama club in middle school and I think after meeting Eddie he'd just get even more into theater. When my husband was a kid he did sports and many extracurriculars but he still had So Much Energy so his parents shunted him into theater too. I have this idea that Claudia, single mom who loves her son So Much but also can't keep up with him and maybe needs a break, casually introduced theater to Dustin and was so relieved when it took. Also love the idea that Steve and Eddie go to every single one of Dustin's performances, even the Thursday dress rehearsal. Steve has to be asked several times to not cheer like he's at a sporting event every time Dustin is on stage.
