when jiyong boarded the ship, henry’s common sense stayed behind on the planet they picked her up from.

there’s no better explanation for it than that.

her presence always renders him speechless, and he’s never figured out why. just something about the way she presents herself, so confident, beautiful and lethal kind of sets his mind scurrying for any word to say. near her he seems to be in a continued state of panic.

but not really near her, just whenever her attention is directed on him. because he tends to be perfectly able to function even with jiyong in the room, as long as her attention is on someone else. or at least as long as his attention is on someone else.

he doesn’t know what it is, the way his limbs decide to become graceless and his brains decide to stop working. he doesn’t know why his entire body decides to take a time out whenever she comes close enough for him to almost smell her.

heck, if he knew he’d probably do his best to engineer himself a piece of machinery that would protect him from such influences. it’s not like he wants to look like a complete and utter fool in front of her.

still, he’s pretty sure that’s exactly what she sees him as.
