Fate of the Furious was great. Easily my favorite big Hollywood movie so far, sorry John Wick Chapter 2. It was basically like B or Z movie plot with A level money and it was worth it. The cars falling out of buildings trying to detail the crew is in the trailer but it's so much cooler seeing it in the movie. Basically in that scene Charlize Theron's hacker has the ability to control every car in NYC even cars without drivers. All of this is so they can get the nuclear codes from some guy in a well protect limo. It's beyond ridiculous but not too ridiculous where some real life government employee had to say this sort of thing couldn't really happen. I'm like yeah right! Uber, Apple and Amazon are working on self driven cars. I already didn't like them but it never occurred to me that they could get hacked into. Gov says that can't happen though, okay... Anyways so that happens cars falling out of buildings, real cars. Getting in the way of the family, the crew trying to do good and it was just a sight to see. There's a super cool prison riot where the Rock and Jason Statham beat the crap out of like 40 to 50 guys for five minutes. At first, they toss goofy disses to each other, later on when they have act as a team they attempt to diss each other but then they realize how silly it all is and they start laughing!!!! Do you hear that comic book movies?! Macho muscular dudes yucking it and sharing a laugh together. That happened like three separate times during the movie, almost to remind people hey it's a big movie where tanks and cars take on a submarine over frozen land, let's have fun! Charlize Theron was really good in the movie. At first after watching the trailer I was like is she gonna just have a headset on for the whole movie and not do cool stuff? I was half right. She does spend a nice chunk of the movie with Bluetooth on but she spouts out pseudo philosophical bad guy nonsense about family in a robotic, hypnotic way that I totally bought into. Everyone in the movie was good: Vin, the Rock, Stath, Ludacris, Tyrese, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michelle Rodriquez, Scott Eastwood as the butt of everyone's jokes, and Mr Nobody aka Mr Exposition Kurt Russell. Dame Helen Mirren was just okay in the movie but she's barely in it which was fine. I guess she can't drive stick. This movie def made up for the lackluster previous two movies. Fun movie! One more last ride! Trailer watch: Alien prequel 2 looked better since the latest trailer ditched people running in and out of doors. I might give it a try though but I hated the David character in Prometheus. David was like a child who should've been destroyed, "David don't touch that." (He does) I was amused when Noomi Rapace was carrying his character's body parts at the end around like he was C3PO. But that was a purely in a this is so stupid kind of amusement. Super cautious about that movie. Guardians 2 looks like fun, although I don't know why Groot is still on the team if he's a baby. Maybe he's an effective baby? I don't know. I wasn't wild about the first but maybe that was cos of the hype going into the movie. Again with endings but I thought the group hand holding ending was silly in a bad way. I do appreciate the bright colors in the new movie though. Makes up for Wonder Woman looking like dreck. Spider-Man Homecoming is another idk. I think it's dumb shoe horning Iron Man in the movie. Plus Tony talking about Spider-Man fighting off criminals in the neighborhood is the movie I want to see. It sounds like another Marvel movie that screams Avengers Assemble because of the foe but they probably cant assemble for a stupid reason. Also I'm still not over Spidey taking off his costume in front of his BFF. Yuck. The new King Arthur looked like a CGI mess. Keep getting those checks Jude Law! I really like that theater though. The regency bruin. It has a nice screen, 7.1 Dolby Amos sound, and after a week it's eligible for MoviePass. Even without MoviePass, it's a decent $12 ticket price after I think the $9 matinee price. That said that was ridiculous that the same movie was in two single film movie theaters across the street from one another.
