#Most people are on holiday bc sukkot or sick bc corona#So there a grand total of 5 people currently in the office#and normally we're an international office#So English is the main language#But now I'm the only non-native hebrew speaker#So everything naturally transitioned back to hebrew#and after my (Hebrew language) client meeting I left the conference room#to talk to my colleagues who were chatting in hebrew#and it's just like... sometimes I feel like I stepped into someone else's life#I love this job and I'm adapting well!#but when I was in Germany before yom kippur it struck me how much I miss my native language sometimes#Not just speaking it but like being at home in it#And sometimes im in a meeting with a client and they will drag out rusty prewar German and it's like...#I can't even describe it and I always answer in hebrew
