ML Rewrite Update~

Making a couple of changes/additions. You can find them under the cut. These pertain to S1 mostly.

Yeah, haven't exactly shared publicly yet, but I will be scrapping Marinette's initial Adrien crush storyline entirely. Why? Because I find it stupid that the umbrella scene was what started it all. It's inorganic, and I doubt Marinette, in the right mind, would actually let all her initial reservations about Adrien go after ONE nice act. This is a major fix that I felt was needed. So for S1 Adrien & Marinette: It'll mostly follow Adrien trying to befriend Marinette, and show her that he isn't as bad as she thinks he is. So slowburn friendship? ((//And so Adrien's attempts at friendship are kind of taken out-of-context by the girls (minus Juleka), as they think his interest in her is something more than it is. Marinette, obviously has no interest, but Alya still insists on the idea, and the rest of the girls kinda follow her mindset.)) And so naturally, I have decided that instead I will have Marinette initially crush on Luka... Still thinking about how to introduce him in on an S1 rewrite organically, but who knows? I might use his debut episode as inspiration, if only because it was already perfect to begin with. ((And worry not because Mari will be able to form complete sentences around him... she might just stumble on her words every now and then? Because who wouldn't? Luka's an absolute sweetheart, and he'll be sure to put her at ease. I will also add that S1 Mari will be completely unaware that this a crush. She just knows that she feels butterflies when she's around him, and that she feels safe, and heard.)) **Tikki, the Lukanette Shipper will make plenty of appearances. Rest assured, you'll see a supportive kwami for all the right reasons. ________________ I know the crush change from the very, very start is a pretty major change considering the LS are fated/told to be soulmates from the very beginning of the series, but it's just icky. It doesn't work, and trying to force myself to rewrite certain things that I can't make sense out of just doesn't help with motivation, so this is my solution.

Now I don't know if this deviates interest, but this is what I'm going with from here on out.

Miraculous Ladybug Rewrite, anyone?

I feel like I may as well go through with it. Canon is absolute trash nowadays and there are certainly lots of things that need to be reworked/fixed.

I will be reworking the plot, but here are some things you should expect to get out of it:

First: It is no surprise that my heart belongs to Lukanette, so they will be the main ship here. Meaning, obviously, it should go without saying that if you hate ship, this won't be the rewrite for you. So block the tag.

Second: Chloe will get better treatment here! Whatever development she undergoes will be consistent. We will dive a little deeper into Chloe & Sabrina’s friendship & her past with Adrien & Felix. I will also share headcanons on how she deals with her parents and why she acts the way she does. (I don’t like Zoe, so she will NOT exist in this rewrite.)

Third: Expect salt and consequences for characters that get none. Adrien & Lila will primarily get the worst salt treatment. They're horrible human beings. Alya & the rest of the girl group (minus Juleka) are likely to get some salt too, for trying to force Mari to get with Adrien, but they will give up on that goal inevitably.

Fourth: No Lila & Kagami BFF storyline. Kagami is Mari's best friend, from the start, so she will always take Mari's side.

Fifth: In case you're wondering why there won't be Juleka salt, it's because she does set sail for Lukanette before any of the other girls come around to it. She wants her brother and close friend to be happy, and realizes earlier on that Mari feels more at ease with Luka. She will be supportive of that.

Sixth: The Ladybug & Chat Noir holders will change in time. With Mari having taken over the Guardian position, and her responsibilities becoming too much to bear alone, she takes both miraculouses and hand them over to the two people she trusts the most: Luka (LB) and Kagami (CN).

Ships?: Like stated before, Lukanette is the main/primary ship.

For side ships that will be involved: JuleRose, Chlogami, Feloe, Adrigami, Lilya, Ivan/Mylene, Kim/Ondine, Nathaniel/Marc.

Anti-ships: LS (salt, just salt), LilAdrien, FeLila.

This is all I will be disclosing right now. I will go more in depth later on, but these are some of the things you should expect. I am laying stuff on this post so you get to decide whether or not you want to follow along.

I make no promises for when you can expect a proper layout, so don't ask me.

Is Adrien gonna be improved in your rewrite in anyway?

It will be a work in progress, but yes. I do plan to improve him eventually. I just think he needs to face consequences for his actions and learn certain things the hard way first. What I can share for him are: he will eventually give up on that unhealthy/toxic crush on Ladybug (it will take multiple rejections & consequences, but it will happen. Adrien will learn, and accept that some things just aren't meant to be as much as he wants them to), his friendship with Chloe will be more in depth (there will be reasons why he's still by her side, and doesn't exactly let people be too mean to her, being one of the only people who knows she's just putting on a "mean girl" front. There will be more on this later.), and Adrien will get a relatively happy ending. I've actually decided on an Adrigami endgame for him. (Canon may have ruined them, but I enjoyed their romance, and honestly think that Kagami brought a more tolerable side to him whenever they were on-screen together. That being said, Adrigami will be a side-ship slow-burn on my rewrite. There will be hints of romance, but while his unhealthy crush on Ladybug remains, he will not pursue Kagami. Adrien will be far too conflicted going back and forth between his feelings for each of the girls. Kagami is his friend, and he respects her too much to try and get into something when he's unsure of what he really wants and how he really feels.)

Adrien will still undergo salt treatment, but he's not irredeemable. While one of my least favorite characters to work with, I don't think it'd be fair to give him an awful ending even on a rewrite where I get the liberty to do so if I so choose. Things get worse for him before they get better, but he will have his moments.
