The Malaysian system can be quite ableist.

For example the exams involve a listening and speaking test. Now this wouldn't be a problem but auditory and verbal disorders exist. Stutters, apd, adhd, partial deafness, sore throats all exist but the exam doesn't really care about that.

Also you can't retake the test if you get sick which is bullshit because everybody knows that if God wills it Covid or anything else can be upon ye.

When it comes to classrooms sometimes it's based on your names, sometimes on your grades, sometimes on your height, etc. Under no circu.stance would any disorder be considered for example partial deafness or blurry vision. At the most you'll be told to get a check-up but that fucking sucks because we're in a hostel school and sometimes our parents are also bullshit and ableist.

You'd also get a few seats forward but that'll probbably piss off some other people and for people with social anxiety it's crap.

And when it comes to the forced socializing and shit it's very antagonistic. I get that we're trying to build a healthy community but if you can't even fix a bathroom tap then God forbid you try to fix us.

And don't get me started on the homework. It's agonizing especially when you're in pain and it's due tomorrow.

And that's not to mention dormitory situations, terrifying and demotivating teachers, state of the (terrible) medical care, and all other things the average hostel school is terrible at.

At least we get many awesome books at the library. But then again we don't even have the time or opportunity to borrow any of them so fuck that too.
