Connor Murphy Theory

I’ve been thinking.... from what I’ve gathered Connor overdosed.

This poses some questions though. With his past of doing drugs and getting high, did he mean to OD or was he trying to get high and accidentally overdosed while home alone?

I keep thinking about this and i‎t makes me sad that obviously he was hurting and his parents weren’t being supportive so he lashed out and alienated himself from Zoe. There is a chance that he didn’t mean to kill himself, that he came home like every other day slightly angry from the Evan incident. He went to his room and everything happened. Maybe he had hope that he could reconcile with Zoe and get better with help from his family. He had his whole life ahead of him that was taken away.

We don’t know what Connor wanted or what drove him to do what he did. That’s what saddens me most, we never got to know what his dreams were or what went through his head. We never get to find out what he wanted to do after he graduated or what he wanted to do with his life. I wish we could learn more about him.

QOTD: What is the last book that made you cry?! 😭🙈 . . Dear Evan Hansen holds a very special place in my heart, especially right now. As a society, we tend to overlook the growing trend of depression and suicide in teenagers and young adults. This book brings that all out into the open, in a heartbreaking, yet tasteful way. I was able to connect with every single character— from the mom that has to work; knowing her child is struggling and having no idea what to do— to Evan himself, just wanting to be found. I fell in love with the story, but most of all, the themes that create the situation the characters find themselves in. Suicide and depression are serious issues, ones we tend to push under the rug, and I really enjoyed how the creators are able to show the aftermath of such a terrible tragedy. I cannot recommend this book, musical, and soundtrack enough! If you have ever dealt with depression, are raising someone with depression, or just need to be found, this is the book for you! . . Henry B. #connorproject             Fall 2018   In this artwork I represented the apple orchard that was planted for Connor Murphy after he died. I choose to represent this because it really represents the whole idea of the Connor Project as it's a powerful and important part of the play. I painted the sign blue to represent the Dear Evan Hansen color which is blue. In general, I thought that since the orchard was referred to so much in the play and was such a big part of The Connor Project, that it would be a nice thing for me to do.
