#FFXV theory
Text
Final Fantasy XV is like, the Dark Souls of FF lore. And it's not even intentional, which is bullshit. I have to piece together scrap bits here and there from different periods of production, figure out if that official manga contradicts what was laid out in the game, consult the scriptures of the canceled DLC-Turned-Novel, backtrack through game patches to see what item descriptions changed, consult different localizations, consult the goddamn pocket version...
Did you know that the Starscourge, the main driving force of the plot of XV, being a disease that can turn humans into daemons, the thing that Noctis has to sacrifice his life to get rid of because even the gods can't do it, is only revealed to have come from the meteor that Titan caught (and thus be from beyond the stars) in the German localization?
i hate it here

i'm just CONVINCED ffxv was supposed to have a "who's the traitor??" storyline.
gladio goes on a mysterious "hiking trip"? iggy also disappears for a bit? prom turns out to be a niff? conincidence? i think not!!
i assume the idea was scrapped at some point during development.
now, i don't think ANY of the chocobros were actually supposed to be traitors. those were just misdirections. there was DRAMA in store, with noctis being forced to suspect even his closest allies.
who was supposed to be the traitor then, you may ask? COR.
i mean, all the dialogue surrounding his 1st appearance?? people marvelling how mysterious he is? how he was the only one who survived the citadel? and gladio brushing it off as cor just being that good?
and cor's gruff attitude also played a part. is it tough love? OR is it actually a disguised resentment?
1st time i played ffxv i was SO SURE cor was a traitor and i remain convinced that was planned... at some point.
normally i'd wonder why they'd remove a story beat and leave the setup for it. but i see that a lot as i play ffxv - little story elements that seem to be leading into something, but never do.
anyways until i'm somehow proven wrong this is my,,, ummm, would-be-headcanon? 😅
i'm curious if i'm the only one who thinks this lol

Btw there are two possibilities for what happens in the XV collab event regarding Ava.
For context, Ava was originally intended to be an expy of my FFXV self insert, who is Noct's love interest (along with Luna, though it's not necessarily a rival situation) with bits of this integrated into her previous lore. While they're two wholly separate characters now, they still share similarities such as hair/eye color, first name, and main weapon of choice.
Noctis sees Ava Drangahr and does a double take. This woman is similar enough to his girlfriend that it's uncanny, but at the same time she's very different and does not recognize him at all. He does not bring this up to her and spends the whole event confused and wonders if this a Shrek Forever After situation. Every new piece of information makes him more confused.
Ava Drangahr is mysteriously absent for the entire duration of the XV event. FFXV Ava appears alongside Noctis, and many note the similarity in appearance. Once Noctis leaves, so does FFXV Ava, and Ava Drangahr returns, completely oblivious to the amount of time that has passed. Many tabloids report on this mysterious occurrence.
Neither of these are more canon than the other because they're both very funny to me. I love making weird but ultimately inconsequential pieces of lore.

I see people are theorizing that Clive is alive, and rewatching the ending, it does seem like he could have simply passed out from exhaustion. But Jill running out and crying feels like it leans towards him being dead, mainly because Eikons can sense whether they're alive or not. Like when Clive knew that Jill was still alive after fighting Odin. So wouldn't Jill have known for a fact in that moment that he was dead, and if not then why cry?
Unpopular opinion but I do actually want Clive to be dead. I like tragic endings without "happy" endings.

So I just learned that not only do I share a birthday with Ardyn Izunia, one of my favorite video game villains of all time and is one of my favorite characters in any media ever, but also possible with V, who is another of my dearly beloved favorite characters. (As long as we fudge the exact timing of his and Urizen's creation a bit.)
(Yes I am aware that the wiki says his B-day is May 1st. The first thing I did when I saw someone post about V's birthday was to check the Wiki to confirm. But you know what? Fuck the wiki this is canon now.)

Cloti's growth in touch and why their famous kiss may foreshadow their canon status in Part 3
In Remake, in Tifa's Resolution, Tifa approaches Cloud for comfort, and after a while, he reciprocates and hugs her.
Let it be known that, throughout the entirety of Remake, Tifa is literally the only one with whom Cloud shares a hug. Yes, Tifa had to initiate the physical contact, but it doesn't change the fact that Cloud never shares a hug with anyone else in the game.
Tumblr media
However, in Rebirth, if Tifa is Cloud's date during the second Gold Saucer visit:
During the Loveless play, Cloud pulls Tifa towards him and touches her waist as he spins her.
During the Skywheel date, Cloud initiates a hug with Tifa, in both the low affinity and high affinity versions.
And, if it's the high affinity version of the date, after the hug, Cloud initiates a kiss with Tifa.
Tumblr media
Let it be known that, during the Loveless play, between the 3 female party members, Tifa is literally the only one whom Cloud pulls towards him, and Tifa is literally the only whom Cloud touches as he spins her. (Video source)
Let it be known that, out of all the possible date options in the Skywheel, in all of the low affinity and high affinity versions of each and every single date, Tifa is literally the only one with whom Cloud initiates a hug, and, most significantly, Tifa is literally the only one with whom Cloud initiates a kiss. (Video source)
Tumblr media
Now, remember that the entire Final Fantasy franchise is a JRPG. This is a franchise made in Japan, a country in the Eastern hemisphere. Back in 1997 (when the OG FFVII was released) and even today, in Eastern countries like Japan, public displays of affection are still taboo. So, if a kiss ever does occur in an anime or video game, especially if it's aimed for teenaged males, the kiss will only happen once (this is not always the case, but it is still the norm, even today), it will only happen between a canon couple, and it will be treated with the utmost significance.
Most notably, throughout the entire Final Fantasy franchise, the only pairings that have ever shared an on-screen kiss have been canon couples. (Video source)
As you can see in the provided video, all of those Final Fantasy pairings that have kissed on-screen before Cloti are canon couples:
Cecil/Rosa ─ FFIV (1991)
Squall/Rinoa ─ FFVIII (1999)
Tidus/Yuna ─ FFX (2001)
Rasler/Ashe ─ FFXII (2006)
Snow/Serah ─ FFXIII (2009)
Noctis/Lunafreya ─ FFXV (2016)
Terence/Dion & Clive/Jill ─ FFXVI (2023)
Now, by the end of Rebirth, Cloti is still not a canon couple. The Gold Saucer date in Rebirth is mandatory; it's just that who becomes Cloud's date depends on how well the player has treated the other party members. However, no matter who ends up being Cloud's date, there are still no canon couples at the end of the game.
But, remember, the Lifestream event (where Tifa pieces the Real Cloud's mind back together, and the Real Cloud's POV of the Nibelheim incident is shown) and the Highwind scene (where Cloti makes love under the Highwind) from the OG game have not been covered yet.
Most likely ─ particularly due to the importance of the Lifestream event (not just within the game, but based on what the game's creators have said in the FF7 10th Anniversary Ultimania and 25th Memorial Ultimania) ─ both scenes are being saved for Part 3.
For the time being, as of now, only theories can be made about what will happen to Cloti in Part 3 ─ such as how different the Lifestream event will be, now that a somewhat similar event has already happened with Tifa at the Gongaga reactor in Rebirth; if the high affinity version of the Highwind scene will be the only one used; if more nods to Trace of Two Pasts and the new 2000 Gil to Become a Hero will be referenced, etc.
But...
Tumblr media
Because out of all the possible Skywheel dates, Tifa is literally the only one with whom Cloud shares a kiss. And in a video game franchise that's geared towards teenaged males like Final Fantasy, only canon couples have ever shared an on-screen kiss ─ as early as FFIV (1991) to as late as FFXVI (2023), the latter of which was released just 1 year before Rebirth. The fact that Cloti has already shared an on-screen kiss, after all those canon couples, may foreshadow them becoming a canon couple in Part 3.
This is emphasized by the fact that Kazushige Nojima, the head writer of the Remake trilogy, also wrote Trace of Two Pasts and 2000 Gil to Become a Hero (which, as of now, can only be found in the FF7 Rebirth World Preview, which hasn't had any official translations yet).
In TOTP, Cloti is established as having been childhood friends up until they were 7 and 8 (it's heavily implied that Tifa's father didn't approve of their relationship and, off-screen, he threatened Cloud to stay away from her, even before the Mt. Nibel bridge incident). Tifa didn't know how she felt about Cloud initially because he was "a beautiful, untouchable presence," but she realized she is in love with him after their promise; read the quote below. (Sadly, because Nojima used "suki", SENA translated "suki" to "like", since, admittedly, "suki" can be both "like" and "love". If only Nojima had used "daisuki"...) (Source)
"But once the promise was sealed, it seemed to her a thing of singular importance. She'd discovered that Cloud ─ the quiet neighbor who had always seemed as unreachable as the stars ─ was just a normal boy like any other. She'd come to understand that she did like him. And it was that special kind of "like" ─ the one that ties up your heart, making you yearn to be with that person for the rest of your days." (Source: Official English translation, "Traces of Tifa", page 25 ─ Amazon Kindle Edition)
In 2000 Gil, during Cloud's journey to Midgar to become a SOLDIER when he was 14, it's reaffirmed, from the OG game, that the only reason why Cloud wanted to be a SOLDIER in the first place is because of Tifa. (Source)
"This was something he wanted to do of his own free will. He would do whatever it took to become a SOLDIER. If there was a path, he would try to walk down it. If there was a door, he would try to open it. Because didn't he promise Tifa? Of his own free will, he had decided to become an exceptional man. To become a SOLDIER, a hero, and a special existence to Tifa."
Again, Nojima is the head writer of the Remake trilogy, and he also wrote TOTP and 2000 Gil. Therefore, what Nojima writes is 100% canon.
Why would Nojima go through all the trouble of writing that: (1) Cloti has a hug in Remake; (2) Cloti were childhood friends after all and Tifa fell in love with him in TOTP; (3) Cloud's desire to become a SOLDIER solely for Tifa is reiterated from the OG game in 2000 Gil; (4) the entirely new Gongaga reactor scene was added in Rebirth, where (a) Cloud becomes catatonic after Sephiroth gaslit him into attacking Tifa, stays in her room alone as she sleeps, and doesn't fully recover until she wakes up the next day, and (b) Tifa discovers the truth about what happened during the Mt. Nibel bridge incident; (5) Cloti nearly kiss after the events of #4 in Rebirth; and (6) Cloti has a kiss in Rebirth? (For #6, remember that only canon couples in Final Fantasy have ever shared an on-screen kiss up until Cloti in Rebirth.) Why?
It's actually really damn obvious why. Because, as I said earlier, it may foreshadow that Cloti will become a canon couple in Part 3.
Tumblr media
NOTE 1: I keep saying "may foreshadow", because, officially, as of now, we don't know what's going to happen in Part 3. We have to wait until 2027 ─ 3 more years ─ for Part 3 to be released and find out what will happen.
NOTE 2: I know that some people may wonder why I'm not referring to Cloti as being already canon.
Let me explain.
I first played the OG FFVII when I was 11. I'll be honest, I had just hit puberty, so I didn't care about shipping at the time. However, even as an 11-year-old girl, as soon as I got to Sector 7 and Tifa was introduced as Cloud's childhood friend, I knew that Cloti was going to be canon by the end of the game. Even before Aerith was killed and the so-called "love triangle" was officially killed along with her, as soon as it was established in Sector 7 that Cloti had known each other since they were children, I knew that Cloti was going to be canon.
If anything, I think that FFVII made me start shipping in general. And I think Cloti was my very first ship. (I say "I think" because I genuinely don't remember how my 11-year-old brain worked.)
Also, I know that the various Ultimanias have (1) stated that Cloti realized they were in love with each other after the Lifestream event, and (2) shown screenshots of the high affinity version of the Highwind scene and not the low affinity version.
However, here's the problem, which I know has been complained about here on Tumblr and other sites: the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII screwed everything up, especially Advent Children.
AC establishes that Cloti lives together with Marlene and Denzel, but they're never actually stated to be a couple in the film, and their interactions, for most of it, are depressing AF. I remember how heartwrenching it was when Tifa lamented that they were "not a real family." This frustrated me as a teenager in the mid-2000s.
Now, remember that, in the mid-2000s, the Internet was nowhere near as ubiquitous as it is today. Any Final Fantasy-related Ultimanias were not available outside of Japan, not even fan translations. Therefore, I had no idea that the AC Reunion Files ─ where Tetsuya Nomura describes Tifa as being "a sweetheart", which is translated from the word "koibito" ─ existed at the time.
Then, in Dirge of Cerberus, in which Cloti briefly appears with Barret, they're only actually shown together once.
After AC and DOC felt like huge letdowns for me regarding Cloti, along with me entering high school around that same time, I lost interest in shipping in general for over a decade. In terms of Final Fantasy shipping, it was because, even though I saw that Cloti was a couple by the end of FFVII, Square jerked us around because they prevaricated over Cloti's canon status in the Compilation. Nowadays, I can't remember how my teenaged mind worked, so, at best, I think I can say that I never stopped shipping Cloti; I just didn't partake in exploring it or any of my other ships in general for over a decade.
TL;DR ─ If the Compilation didn't exist, I wouldn't have had any reason to doubt Cloti's canon status in the mid-2000s. I never doubted the beauty of Cloti itself; it's just that the Compilation made me feel disheartened over their canon status.
Now, I'm aware that Crisis Core ─ which reiterates Cloti's feelings for each other ─ was released 1 year after DOC. However, I'll admit, because I put FFVII out of my mind for over a decade, I didn't even know that CC existed until literally last year (yes, 2023). When I finally discovered it by stumbling upon its fan-translated cutscenes, I liked it. It's one of the only things I like in the Compilation.
But…
What truly revitalized my interest in Cloti again, after I got back into Final Fantasy recently, was hearing about a leak, pre-release, that Cloti shares a kiss in Rebirth. And then, post-release, I saw that Cloud initiating a kiss with Tifa in Rebirth blew up on social media and YouTube.
Then, my interest in the Remake trilogy (yes, 4 years after Remake came out) and its supplemental material like TOTP was piqued. I have the official English translation of TOTP through Amazon Kindle. I now own a PS4 and have played Remake, using the Japanese voices and English version subtitles. But, for the time being, I can't play Rebirth because I don't own a PS5. Everything regarding Rebirth, I've had to learn about either through spoilers on social media or YouTube.
Then, I saw that Crisis Core had an updated re-release in 2022 called Reunion, with the UI and character models resembling the Remake designs.
Now, remember that Crisis Core Reunion ─ with its usage of Remake's UI and character models ─ still shows what really happened at the Nibelheim incident (or, rather, how Zack thinks it happened). Also, while some of the dialogue changed, the Cloti scenes did not: Tifa still subtly asks Zack if Cloud is also a 1st Class SOLDIER; Tifa still sends emails to Zack about a blond SOLDIER/blond knight in shining armor; Cloud still tries to protect Tifa, even though he's just a grunt; Cloud is still ashamed that he didn't become a SOLDIER, and thinks that he didn't keep his promise to Tifa by failing to protect her; Zack still senses that something's going on between Cloti; Cloud still caresses the unconscious Tifa's cheek; and Cloud still lays Tifa down on the floor before he fights Sephiroth.
Now, also remember that the Lifestream event ─ which, again, among other things, shows the Real Cloud's POV of the Nibelheim incident ─ has not been covered yet.
Yep, all of the above got me excited for Cloti again, for the first time in a long time.
Also, as I said earlier, given that Nojima is consistent in his writing thus far in Remake, TOTP, 2000 Gil, and Rebirth ─ particularly for Cloti ─ I have hopes for Part 3, and that, afterwards, Square will finally state that Cloti is canon and then never ever touch them again.
(End my extremely long explanation for NOTE 2.)
(Also, end my long post.)

Maps of Tenebrae by Pockymun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tenebrae was such a beast. I thought Galahd was difficult; Tenebrae is so much bigger and has continental climates to deal with. Like last time, I nearly lost my mind trying to make sense of the climates, so I kind of gave up.
Most of the writing I've done for FFXV has skirted around Tenebrae, focusing moreso on its politics than the landmass itself. It's been in the background for the most part, largely because I didn't have a proper map to explore with! I copied it the best I could from reference images.
Tenebrae is not as cold as I initially assumed it was. It has a warm ocean current on its western side that brings much rain and warm winds that keep the northern reaches largely temperate. The eastern side of Tenebrae is hit with a cold ocean current, getting far less rain and winds. The fishing is better on the east coast. The southern half of Ulwaat was given a temperate rainforest climate based on what we saw of Tenebrae in Kingsglaive; it had that dark green flora of a rainforest.
I base a lot of my headcanons for Tenebrae off of Western Europe primarily, with a little bit from Northern Europe. The way I figured the latitude lines of Eos, Tenebrae is still well below the subartic circle (assuming Eos has one). It's climate is based upon Ireland, the UK, and Scotland, but those three have only two climates: oceanic and subpolar oceanic. I chose climate terms that best described the forests found in Tenebrae. Because Tenebrae is nothing but forests, mountains, and hills.
Tenebrae is the land of high altitudes and trees. What reference images we have of Tenebrae seemed to have a lot of peaks on it. In the glimpse of Tenebrae that we saw in the movie, there are large rock islands that just float above the rest of the land. While Galahdians have a knack for using magic, Tenebrae itself is a land of magic. These floating islands are unique to its mountains mostly, although a few clusters can exist separately.
Water also seems to be a theme for Tenebrae, with its northern cape, the southern sounds, and a few small bays all around. Where there are mountains, there are rivers running down to the ocean. I imagine there are natural springs all around the country, used as a natural remedy for several ailments.
I will dump my headcanons about Tenebrae below:
I've been talking with @groovytimetravelflower, who has the theory that Niflheim's airships are powered by stones or ores mined from the floating islands. It just makes perfect sense. Niflheim had several reasons to invade Tenebrae: to dominate the whole continent, to establish complete control over trade, and to get their hands on whatever magic exists in the land.
Much of the magic is not well-known nor understood beyond the floating islands. The forests of Tenebrae are old, especially in the north.
The only other country close enough for Tenebrae to trade with is Niflheim. Though Tenebrae has a couple ports of its own, these are not large enough for massive shipyards and international trade. Trading with Niflheim allows Tenebraen trade goods to go farther in the world. The downside is that Niflheim can control all trade that Tenebrae does, taking things for the Empire and blocking imports.
The country is very difficult to navigate because of the terrain. Roads are often winding and go around obstacles; this was done moreso out of the belief that the land could not be damaged by man-made endeavors. Trains have only been established in Ulwaat. There may be a few antique cars, but the most common mode of transportation on main roads are chocobo-drawn carriages, or riding chocobos.
Tenebrae is behind on technology overall: this is a result of Niflheim conquering them so long ago. Niflheim doesn't often invest in the lands they conquer. You can see this in how mainland Lucis has such outdated technology, which was left to languish once the Imperials seized control. Most high-technology Tenebrae is exposed to comes from the Imperial Army and is only used in their operations. Ulwaat is the most developed province. The railroad in Ulwaat was developed by the Empire to more easily transport the stone and ore they mined in the mountains.
The further away one gets from Fenestala, the less modern technology there is. In Morrith, Krahage, and Bruiral, indoor plumbing is a recent technological advancement. Not all places have it; it requires electricity, which is difficult to establish in Northern Tenebrae. Because Tenebrae is such a mystical place and the population is probably very religious because of the Oracle, not a lot of people mind being behind in technology.
Cellphones are unheard of, and you wouldn't get reception in most of Tenebrae anyway. Fenestala Manor probably has a couple TVs, but similarly, reception is terrible. Radio signals come through a little more clearer, mostly because the Imperial Army needs them to.
The architecture of the capital and towns of Tenebrae is Victorian and Edwardian, with art noveau used in Fenestala Manor. Villages typically are full of cottages of wood or stone and roofed with thatch. The typical fashion is also Victorian and Edwardian, although more of the youth have recently begun to wear the modern Western clothing imported from Niflheim. People further north of the Breksos Mountains dress in traditional Celtic and Norse garb.
The Breksos Mountain Range naturally divides Tenebrae into a North and a South. These regions do not strictly adhere to the cardinal directions; it is just what people have referred to it as. Travel through these mountains is especially difficult. There is one passage near Woudoord, but it becomes blocked by snow in the winter, completely isolating the north.
Queen Sylva frequently sent aid in the form of doctors, vaccines, and schoolteachers to Northern Tenebrae. She did a lot to improve the relations across the mountains, although the past few Oracles have never gone north of the mountains. All aid stopped with her death. The Northerners became even more apprehensive of Southerners as they appeared to submit to the Empire.
Northern Tenebrae is even further behind in technological advancements than Southern Tenebrae (ie the indoor plumbing). Northern Tenebrae is very isolated from the rest of the world, especially in the winter. It's rare for a Northerner to travel south, and vice versa. The South views the North as barbarous, and the North view the South as weak. Southerners are prim and proper; Northerners... are not. Both greatly revere the Oracle.
As I said before, Tenebraens are religious, largely in part to the Oracle's presence. Tenebrae has become known as a land of healers, with many practicing natural remedies. The people are generally modest and proper. Victorian and Edwardian social customs still run strong.
Tenebraens are seen as mysterious and exotic to the rest of the world. Niflheim hasn't allow Tenebraens to leave their country since they attacked Fenestala Manor, so it's very rare to see one in Lucis. The rest of the world doesn't really understand the difference between North and South Tenebraens. The differences become clear when putting one of each side by side and listening to the bickering.
-
Feel free to use these maps when writing your own fics or headcanons! I would greatly appreciate being credited. These maps are just my interpretation, and don't stand in for canon material. They are flawed, but I worked with what I had. I made these using Inkarnate.

I’m too tired to go too deep into detail on this one but here’s my Kingdom Hearts 4 theory that I want to put out into the world.
The nameless star and the girl we see in the Verum Rex trailer aren’t actually the same person. It’s a red herring.
Yozora takes clear inspiration from Noctis from FFXV (e.g. the scene of Yozora in the car that’s shot-for-shot a scene from an early trailer with Yozora replacing Noctis).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And while many think that’s because Nomura is using ideas he never got to bring to life when he worked on Versus XIII, aka “Beta FFXV”, before the project moved on without him, I think it’s less that and more to do with Nomura’s feelings in letting go of his characters and letting someone else write their story.
I think Yozora is the answer to the question “What if Noctis knew that his story was so far removed from what was originally planned? What if he knew his fate was changed?” (Put a pin in that, because there’s more to this question.)
Anyway, we all saw the nameless star for the first time and... Okay, well, a lot of us thought it was Strelitzia at first and that Square Enix North America (henceforth SENA) had just put romantic dialogue somewhere that wasn’t supposed to be romantic and accidentally made Marluxia sound like Strelitzia’s love interest. (Wouldn’t be the first time that happened in KH3. Thank you SENA.) But once we saw more of her and Yozora in Melody of Memory and Re:Mind respectively, we all realized she was from the same place Yozora was from, and we all thought about the only girl we know who’s from Verum Rex and we all just...
...assumed.
But we haven’t seen the nameless star’s face. And we haven’t heard Verum Rex girl’s voice. So we don’t actually have any confirmation that they’re the same person.
So here’s my suggestion.
Verum Rex girl is Luna in this equation.
Tumblr media
And Nameless Star is Stella, the girl who was originally going to be Noct’s love interest back when FFXV was Versus XIII.
Tumblr media
We meet Nameless Star in what is essentially Kingdom Hearts Purgatory. But she’s from a fictional world. Fictional characters can’t die. Not in the way we know it. I can pop Into the Spider-Verse into my DVD player, hit play, and boom, there’s Uncle Aaron, alive. You can’t do that with real people.
But if a character is written out of a story, they’re gone forever. That, I propose to you, is true death for a fictional character, which is why Nameless Star is hanging out with dead people. And she’s lost everything. Her whole identity. Her name. And the person she loves doesn’t remember her. Because she’s not part of his story anymore.
Yozora also says that the way he looks isn’t what he really looks like. A lot of people have taken that to be the start of an explanation for why he looks like Riku, and it still might be in some roundabout way, but I propose to you that he’s been redesigned, and he’s aware of it.
So here’s the core of what this all means, why it’s relevant.
Kingdom Hearts loves its parallels, yeah?
So here’s what I propose to you.
Sora’s story is also, as we speak, being rewritten. At least in a sense.
Sora sees Riku’s light, and twenty minutes later, it’s apparently Kairi’s light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sora saves seven hearts, including Riku’s, and three hours later, he’s only saved six, and Kairi’s heart is the seventh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somehow or another, Yozora found out about what happened to him, and, due to some trial or another, also found out what is currently happening to Sora. And he wants to save Sora from suffering his fate.
I don’t think there’s any hope for Yozora himself. He is, after all, the night sky, what could have happened if Sora’s story got the “bad end”, so to speak.
But I do think he can “save Sora.”
So here’s the rest of that question.
What if Noctis knew that his story was so far removed from what was originally planned? What if he knew his fate was changed?
And what if he saw the same thing happening to Sora, a kid destined to have a queer love story but forced into a romance with a girl by a greater power instead, and refused to let that slide?

FFXV: Kingsglaive Head Canon!
I thought about this the other day and it’s been in my head since so I thought I needed to talk about it!
Captain Drautos CAN’T warp
As we know, the Glaive get their magic/warping capabilities from the King and therefore, the Crystal, right? But of all the Glaive, you never see Titus warp, use magic, essentially do anything that makes up a Glaive, so why is that? 🤔
My personal theory is this… he can’t access the magic of the Crystal! Maybe he could when he first joined the Glaive but since then he - SPOILER ALERT! - became General Glauca and started being corrupted by the Starscourge (because that’s what I think most of Glauca’s armour is comprised of) and we all know how the Crystal feels about that sorry Ardyn

REPOSTOBER day 5
ok this is actually a slightly different version from the one i originally posted, but that's only w/ the background.
lunafreya's hair and face came out absolutely stunning in this, but i'm not a fan anymore of the original outfit i gave her for my au. especially considering my theory regarding the symbolism of her outfits' necklines in ffxv

(some titles you may recognize, some you may not! this is an eclectic assortment of various wips i have in various states of disrepair from the last couple years that i'm either actively working on or would like to return to with some degree of expediency. regardless, have at-)

Maybe it's my inner Tanta Cinta talking but Cipal has way too many fecking stairs. Where's the ramps? How are merchants supposed to wheel carts and wagons of goods throughout the city? Are they expected to just carry everything on their backs? Or construction materials! How did they haul around all that stone to build the place? And what about their elderly or disabled citizens? It's an accessibility nightmare.
Honestly. I'm going to go with my usual theory when it comes to game worlds: what we see is only a symbolic representation of what the actual world would be like if it was real. I mean otherwise there's no way Cipal can fit thousands of people, let alone the thousands of refugees on top of its usual population that it took in when the Corruption hit. And also if we stick with only exactly what's in the game, Athia is an island, not a continent. It's only about six or seven miles from end to end. My commute to work is roughly half that, which would mean that round trip I bus the length of Athia every day.
This is one of the reasons I wish we had a day/night cycle. If I knew how long 24 hours in-game took in real time, I could use average walking speed to get a rough estimation of how big Athia is supposed to be in-universe based on how long it takes to walk to any given location. I did this with Eos in FFXV using the time it takes to drive from the Insomnia Blockade to the Rock of Ravatogh at 60mph, I can do it again for walking speed!
...wait a minute
I know what day Frey came to Athia. And I can find out what day she fought the dragon. I can calculate from there based on average walking speed and an assumption that she didn't walk for 24 hours straight how far it is between Junoon Castle and Junoon Castle Town. The existence of Flow might throw off my math a little, though. Hmm...
Where there's a will there's a way. I'ma find out.

Guys Who Are Multiple Guys Tournament, Round 1
Tumblr media
Prompto
“He’s a clone who was taken from a laboratory as an infant and raised as a normal person, however he has a barcode imprinted on his right wrist from the cloning process. He doesn’t know he’a a clone until partway through the game where he ends up in the lab he was created in (shown in his DLC Episode), and confronts his original in a confrontation. Afterwards he has to reveal himself to his closest friends as a clone and that if he wasn’t rescued as a baby, he would have been turned into a soulless soldier the party has been fighting the entire game. So, not only does he meet his original, we also see other clones!” - User submission
Amaterasu
“She's been at least two guys--Amaterasu and Shiranui. They interact in both Okami and Okamiden, due to time travel shenanigans. I would also argue that Chibiterasu might count as another guy that Amaterasu is, but that's more of a fan theory than anything canon.” - User submission
Technically aren’t the brush technique gods also other guys who are Amaterasu? It’s been a while since I played this game.
