What is the difference between rutile titanium dioxide and anatase?
The chemical name of titanium dioxide powder is titanium dioxide (TiO2), and it is one of the best white pigments. Compared with anatase titanium dioxide, rutile titanium dioxide has the following advantages:
  (1) High refractive index: the refractive index of rutile type is 2.71, and the refractive index of anatase type is 2.52. Therefore, the covering power and gloss of the former are better than those of the latter.
(2) Different crystal structures The rutile crystal structure is dense, the ratio is stable, and the photochemical activity is small, so it has good weather resistance.
Whether it is rutile or anatase titanium dioxide, in the visible light wavelength range (400-700nm), their reflectivity to light is very high, so they all have good whiteness.
