Incoming sad rant about the spn ending. Don't read if you're not interested in reading something like that, but I literally don't know anyone in real life I can talk about this with, and I really need an outlet:
Sometimes I can put the way SPN ended out of my head and think "it's just a stupid show. I don't have to accept the finale, and the writers/network are wrong." But other times I just get gripped with really intense sadness at the disrespect that was done to my favorite characters. To the point where I'll sit still for hours a day, just wallowing in it. It ruins my whole day and mood. And then I think to myself "I'll just find some other stories that end better!" but then I get sad again, cuz I don't think I will ever love other characters as much as I love Dean and Cas, and then I spiral again thinking about all the potential this unique beautiful love story had, and how we're never going to get the closure we deserve.
I really hate that after all this time, I'm a grown ass adult getting sad over fictional characters. I know it's not that trivial, but I sometimes wish it was so I could get over it 😞
Hi hi, and first of all *socially distanced internet hugs* I’m sorry you don’t have an outlet, but you’re always welcome to chat with me (if you come off anon we can talk privately if you want. My DM’s are always open, even when it takes me a bit to reply. no one should have to feel alone in this.)
I’m actually gonna start at the bottom of your message and work my way up, because I also, as a grown-ass adult, get sad over fictional characters. And I need to emphasize that this is the *point* of fiction. A well-written and developed fictional character is *indistinguishable in our minds from an actual real human being.* The way we react to them *feels exactly the same to our brains and bodies* as how we react to real people, and that’s a testament to just how well developed Dean and Cas were in canon.
I am not a young person. I have engaged with a lot of media over my life, and have *never* felt this strongly about fictional characters before, so I understand what you mean when you struggle to think about finding another story that ended better, or struggle to think about finding other characters you might become this attached to or experience this sort of emotional investment in. And I think there is another factor you didn’t consider there: The vast majority of other media I have engaged with, I was able to relate to on a level of “oh that’s nice for them” or “wow that sucks for them.” I have never, and possibly never will again, feel so utterly invested in fictional characters, to the point where it affects my real life as much as Supernatural has. Period.
I will likely never experience *literal physical lovesickness* over two fictional characters ever again. I hadn’t ever experienced it *in my own real life* before, and yet 15.18 triggered all those symptoms in me. As an aromantic person, this was pretty shocking to me. It also says a lot about just how real these characters feel to us, and how important they have become to us. They make us feel this! This is not an accident. It’s *incredibly difficult* to create fictional characters with this range and depth of emotional connection, and yet here we are.
I think that’s the biggest evidence possibly to present in defense of the statement that THIS IS NOT JUST SOME STUPID SHOW.
Other evidence: this fandom, still going strong after 15 years. Look at every SPN convention for proof. Look at AO3, where there are more posted stories about Dean and Cas than literally any other pairing on the planet (by a not-small margin, too). If that isn’t enough evidence, we have fanart to look at as well. Look through @theroadsofararchive where at the time of this posting there are over 40,000 artworks catalogued, and more being added all the time. Same with @canonspngifs where you can search through through nearly 75,000 gifsets organized by an excellent tagging system and made by dedicated fans out of love for the thing. This is all proof that you are not alone, that so many of us care just as deeply about them as you do. Not even mentioning the people who have written hundreds of millions of words of meta, articles, and even masters theses and doctoral dissertations on Supernatural and the fandom. This is a unique thing, even within the larger fandom culture. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that your feelings for it are stupid or irrelevant or wrong.
But also don’t let anyone try to convince you that you must accept the finale as part of the story if you don’t want to. Don’t even let *yourself* believe that if you don’t want to. This show has done more to play with the themes of “what is reality” and “who gives a story meaning” and alternate universes and curses and djinn dreams to easily account for whatever the heck the finale was.
my current go-to theory: everything after Chuck’s defeat takes place in the Mockumentary Alternate Universe... it fits way too uncomfortably well... and then I just apply the fic I received in a cosmic transmission from the actual supernatural universe wrote detailing the events of what *I* hoped would transpire afterward. I know this doesn’t work for everyone, but it works for me, mostly because it *has* to. It means far too much to me not to.
You are not alone in having invested yourself into this story, and these characters. Your feelings about them are not wrong or stupid or frivolous. And the proof is everyone else who feels the same exact way, who connected to this story (and to each other through this story), and whose lives have been forever altered through this journey together. The fact that Dabb turned out to have been Chuck Junior and couldn’t see (or was prevented from showing us) what Team Free Will would’ve chosen to do with that after defeating their original creator just stands to prove to me that the finale can’t possibly be The Truth, you know?
I don’t know if any of this will help you, or provide you some small comfort right now, but maybe it will eventually. We’re all processing the loss of the show and the abject failure of story that was the finale in different ways, and I’m sure our emotional reactions will shift over time. It was just A Lot to process all in the span of a few incredibly emotional weeks-- not even mentioning how all of that emotional response was compounded by the american elections and surrounding nonsense, the general stress of enduring a global pandemic and all that entails, and *waves hands around broadly at everything else contributing to the trauma occurring in the collective of humankind right now.* We’ve all been emotionally compromised, so be kind to yourself in how you feel you’re coping with it all.
And know that no matter what, you are not alone in how you’re feeling. The grief is real, and our brains don’t care if it’s felt for fictional characters or real people. This was honestly a once in a lifetime experience for a lot of us, and not even the wtf of the finale can kill it for us if we don’t let it. I reject that particular piece of rusty rebar and choose to believe in a just and narratively coherent resolution. To do anything less feels like dishonoring the story and characters who have drawn me in and made me feel so much for them over the years. If the story itself couldn’t honor them properly, then I can choose to do so myself.

gotta love how the tickle community worships and praises the popular/attractive blogs and ignores the harm they actively commit against others
THIS. While not all popular blogs are problematic, some of them rub me the wrong way. It's like they develop a superiority complex and it's so ugh. Like chill out, your follower count is just a number. Sometimes the tumblr community reminds me of highschool. I was "popular" in the sense that people knew of me but I wasn't a jerk to anyone (except to myself of course ahaha). But other people who were actually popular were so mean to everyone else and for what? Honestly gotta be disappointed in society cause we seem to forget we have the power to take away their status. However, sometimes people get carried away with the "cancel culture" and it makes me sick. Like let's talk about whenever drama happens, it eventually reaches the popular blogs and boom f*cking chaos. While I acknowledge that it may be just because it's spread to more people, I also want to point out that they're doing it to prove to people they're "better" in some way (in addition to there own personal beliefs of course). Like the tone when discussing discourse is always we're smart, they're the spawn of Satan. Like chill. Again, not talking about the obvious cases of p*dophilia. It's just like use your popularity for good and I'm glad there are some that do. OH. I remember, their popularity is often just used to shame people. Let me make something very clear. When you shame someone, they don't learn shit. When your math teacher shamed you for not knowing how to solve a problem, did you magically become a math wiz? That's what I thought. My beliefs are be kind regardless. Even to the people who hate me. When we shame people, they put up their walls, and rightfully so. You just show them that you're not willing to teach them the right way. "Well they should know better". Sure I guess, but looking back at the math example (yes I hate math could you tell?), these teachers spend years learning all this knowledge and then have the audacity to get mad at people when they don't understand like wtf? Did you forget you were in the exact same position before you became a teacher???? You lose all my respect when you do stupid sh*t like that. Personally, if you are patient and kind enough to work with a person whose views may be extremely conflicting of your own to better them, not in a "I'm a white person here to clean the blacks of their savagery" (🤢) but a genuine want to help people get out of a bad habit, and you're humble about it, you're just *chef's kiss*. There are certain blogs who strike me like this and I don't wanna tag but know you are appreciated. Before I ramble anymore, it makes me angry how certain popular blogs can just return to their regular posts and stuff right after they left a wake of destruction in their path. AND IRONICALLY, everyone is like ahaha like this post so I can spread love, there's tOo mUcH hAtE iN tHiS cOmMuNiTy. Like no f*cking duh, YOU are the hate in this community. Chile anyway...
Love getting asks from you guys thank you so much.
Remember you are loved, you're important and YOU MATTER! Hope you have a day as amazing as you. Such a cutie pie, I'm in LOVE.

I've got a writing question! I'm still kinda new to the fe3h fanfic world, and I was wondering how you go about writing a rarepair ship, especially if they don't have supports. I get requests from time to time of rarepairs and always struggle with them 😅
First you need a friend like @moeblob who messages you throughout the day with fascinating match ups that you both then talk about for hours XD Kidding aside, this might get lengthy so I hope even part of my answer is useful.
It depends on the type of fic you’re writing (both length and genre), but generally speaking, one good starting point is to find something the characters have in common. Some topic they can find common ground on even if they have opposite views.
Take Felix and Ferdinand for example. They never interact or even talk about the other in passing in the game. But they have stuff in common that, depending on the story you’re writing, you could work with. Both are nobles and heirs to their House. Obviously Ferdinand is hype about the idea; but Felix never once seems happy about one day being Duke Fraldarius.
Digging deeper, we know they both like weapons/weapon collecting. Felix displays a passion for swords and sword craft (like in his supports with Dimitri), and Ferdinand loves learning about foreign weapons and fighting techniques. Moeblob and I talk about that aspect of the two of them a fair amount-- and they’ve used it in their art a few times as well. This gives Felix and Ferdinand something unique to bond over whether they’re in the same class at the time or not.
Another way to get a feel for how characters would interact is to put them in a situation where they have to talk about Something That’s Happening. This doesn’t require you to find something they share, but it is easier if you have a feel for the characters’ personalities already. Usually that’s how Moeblob and I find new rarepairs-- we’ll come up with a scenario and then one of us will throw in a character who is watching it happen. Then they talk to someone else and the two bond over “wtf are our friends doing”.
We once came up with a ship while talking about an idea where Felix and Ferdinand were being Hopeless and Sylvain, Ingrid, and Caspar were left to Watch and Suffer. Thus those three had something to bond over lol. Once again Moeblob has art of it here (read tags for context). This is obviously a silly method but it gets the creative juices going!
Both of these examples are good for coming up with a plot or just exercises for getting used to a relationship dynamic. This answer is long enough but let me also say there’s no shame in staring blankly at a character’s wiki page and willing something to come to mind XD You can also check ao3 to see how others have handled the ship you’re trying to write, though of course there’s not as much material for rarepairs. Try and remember to have fun! Good luck out there!

Destiel Chronicles
Vol. LII
It was a love story from the very beginning.
Love Will Save You
(10x03)
Hello my friends! How are you? This is the new release from my Destiel Chronicles.
I will talk entirely about episode 10x03, is a beautiful episode in which we see how Dean is saved by romantic love and family love.
More Humanity
Sam will try to cure Dean, to brin his humanity back. This is reflected by Castiel, who keeps talking about humans, like a recall and a parallel with Dean, who will reach his humanity through love...
But let's check what Cas is saying...
HANNAH:How are you holding up?
CASTIEL:Fine.
HANNAH: You say you’re fine, but you don’t … look fine.
CASTIEL: It’s what the humans do. They say they’re fine. And even if I—I don’t look it, you say I look well, and that way, we avoid talking about something we can do nothing about.
This speech is like that he gave in episode 10x02 and we already talked about it. Castiel is naming human's things, and in the other side of the coin, I Dean and Sam. Sam trying to get back his brother, and Demon!Dean trying to manipulate him, twisting things to make him believe Sam was a monster too.
DEAN: Don’t be so full of yourself, Sammy. ‘Cause, see, from where I’m sitting … There ain’t much difference from what I turned into to what you already are.
SAM: And what exactly is that supposed to mean?
DEAN: I know what you did when you went looking for me. I know how far you went. Crowley told me all about it. So let me ask you … which one of us is really a monster? Hmm? Starting to come back to you now?
Dean is tryin to redirect the situation towards Sam. Trying to make Sam to desist his plans. But just like Hannah is trying too redirect Castiel's mission into her, he will fail.
Bot of them, Sam and Cas, are aiming to bring Dean back, wherever it takes. No one will get in their way.
There's a scene in which Hannah is trying to persuade him, and grabbed his arm, but in that precise moment, Sam is calling. The mission (Dean) comes first.
Castiel's priority
There's another speech Cas gave to Hannah, because he understood she was trying to seduce him, to be involved with him romantically. But Cas was focused on Dean. Dean was his priority.
CASTIEL: Um… We can’t afford to lose our way.
HANNAH: I know that. I’m sorry about the map.
CASTIEL: No detours of any kind.
Castiel is trying to mark the boundaries right there. He needs to save Dean, and nothing else matters to him.
HANNAH: Castiel, if these are metaphors and you’re attempting another human communication … It isn’t working.
Hannah can see how being human or being among humans change the point of view. She will see more in the on coming episodes.
CASTIEL: I’m just trying to say this mission is everything.
Castiel is talking about Dean. Is obvious the other mission, Heaven's mission, is in a second page now. Cas is focused in save Dean.
HANNAH: I know that.
CASTIEL: Getting to Dean and hunting these rogues … I—I’m not at full capacity, so I … we n-need total focus.
He put Dean first in his sentence.
HANNAH: Like a laser. Got it.
CASTIEL: Just … I’ve been around humans for long enough to see how easily distractions occur.
This is very interesting, because he talks from his experience... What distracts Cas from his mission? And... It has to do with the same kind of distractions Hannah is having? (The romantic one?)
HANNAH: “Distractions.”
CASTIEL: Emotions, feelings … They’re dangerous temptations.
Oh Cas... Keep talking... Dean is a temptation to you? I can't imagine other thing than Cas talking for himself, if that is so, he had experienced feelings and dangerous temptations, and we know with who...
HANNAH: How very Biblical, Castiel.
CASTIEL: I don’t mean to be unkind.
HANNAH: You don’t need to be kind.
CASTIEL: I just … I’m trying to keep our priorities clear.
HANNAH: Not to worry, then. I’m very clear on my priorities. And yours.
I like the pause between MY AND YOURS. Because Hannah knows Castiel's priority is Dean, and hers are Heaven's mission. Hannah is aware about what Cas feels for Dean.
Love will save you
Demon!Dean is searching for Sam, to full fill Cain's prophecy. The bunker is in color red, just like Dean's devilish shirt.

Even injecting his own blood on Dean (family love) wasn't enough... Dean needed another kind of love to complete the cure...

Castiel arrives just in time to save them (both).
Is when he arrives and suppressing Demon!Dean's powers into a symbolic embrace, Dean heals.
There's a female outside in the car.
So, when Cas enters Dean's room, he checks Dean out... And as always, he was very honest...
CASTIEL: You look terrible.
[Dean laughs.]
And I'm sure he missed his honest needy angel...
DEAN: You know, it wouldn’t kill you to lie every now and again.
CASTIEL: No, it wouldn’t kill me. I just … You …
Tumblr media

DEAN: Forget it. Well, you, on the other hand, you… Looking good. So… Are you back?
And I love how Dean is always complimenting him. Even when he feels bad, the angel is the sunlight that comes all over his dark room, so he needs to say it.
CASTIEL: At least temporarily. It’s a long story. Crowley, stolen grace. There’s a female outside in the car.
[Dean stares at him, and Cas shakes his head.]
CASTIEL: Another time.
Okay, let's stop just right here... Why is Castiel mentioning *a female* and not her name *Hannah* knowing Sam and Dean know her? Why he chooses to say it in this way... And mostly, why to mention it?
I recall this dialogue always caught my attention, and the only explanation was he was trying to make Dean jealous, why? Remember 9x06 when he tried to make Dean jealous with Nora? Because Dean had kicked him out of the bunker and he was mad at him? Well... Now... Who scaped with Crowley to have their summer of love? Yes... Dean. So... Cas is saying this in this way because he deliberately wants Dean to be jealous.
"So, you left and run away with Crowley? Look how I don't care at all, I have a female waiting for me in my car."
And Dean's face is priceless!!! Is like WTF DID YOU JUST SAID? YOU CHANGED ME FOR SOME RANDOM FEMALE?YOU DIDN'T WAIT DOR MW TO COME BACK?
Yes... All of that in one single expression. Even so, Dean adds some more sugar...
DEAN: I’m glad you’re here, man.
[Cas starts to leave, then turns back.]
There such a huge hearteyes coming from these two but mostly Dean. They're so in love people...
To Conclude:
Castiel melancholically recalling human's behavior, as a reflection of what Sam is trying to rescue from Dean.
Cas is focused in his priority, his mission: Dean Winchester comes first, avoiding Hannah romantic intentions.
When Cas is talking about how distractions (feelings and dangerous temptations) occurs, he is talking from his experience.
Dean was finally healed when Cas arrives, because family live wasn't enough to cure him, he needed Castiel too.
Castiel mentioned a female and not Hannah was waiting for him to make Dean jealous because he abandoned him for Crowley. Such a dummies in love... *Sighs*

I'm the anon who said you don't glorify obesity. Look I don't know anything about that ship y'all keep referring to and I don't know who "Hunk" is or whatever, I'm talking in general terms. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT SHIPPING OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT just to clarify. I think it's wrong that people glorify being skinny but I don't think glorifying obesity is any better (I'm talking about more than overweight - ACTUALLY OBESE)
I’m probably not explaining myself properly but I think people should be able to ship whatever they want, the shipping was never my point. I just think the way people on the internet have been going on like “Fat women are goddesses!!! Real women have curves!!! If you don’t agree you’re fatphobic!!!” is wrong. I have been hospitalized twice for anorexia, I know how being skinny is glorified but I don’t think switching it around so it becomes “being obese is totally awesome and if you say otherwise you’re a horrible fatphobe” is any better. I’m sorry for sending you so many messages, I’ll stop now.
okay so GIVEN THAT WE ALREADY CLARIFIED OURSELVES ON THE MISUNDERSTANDING: the problem is that we were actually talking about shipping XD and the other anon decided it had to be about health but like the problem in general is that as usual (on tumblr and I guess in the US because it’s mostly US beauty standards I’m seeing thrown around) is that there’s no middle way in anything. I mean, like:
body shaming is a thing. in general. the problem is that fatshaming is, like, a thing that is more culturally spread than the contrary even if in some countries (ie italy) there’s this concept that if you’re skinnier than a size 42 (I guess it’s like an S or small M) you’re omg so unhealthy please EAT SOME PUT MEAT ON YOUR BONES WHY DO U HATE GOOD FOOD, but it’s more of an older generation thing. like, I’ve had problems with weight bc when I was in freaking elementary school people would go like ‘omg you’re so fat’ at me and I thought I was and then I looked at some pictures years later and I was like ‘… wtf I was perfectly fine what the hell’ and there’s a general implication that fat/overweight = unhealthy when it’s not necessarily the case.
the problem is that when it comes to body positivity there is like literally zero distinction between curvy, overweight, fat and obese which are not the same thing, and there is zero distinction between body positivity and promote a healthy lifestyle. I mean, according to US standards someone who’s fat would be… like… normal here? a size M is seen as perfectly regular stuff but from what I see of US sizes, M is like OMG I’M FAT already, which… like. here it’s maybe curvy. also being some 3/4kgs overweight never killed anyone. but since I see ZERO DISTINCTION here, it’s all thrown in the same bag and it’s the exact same for people who have 3 kgs more than average, 10, 25, 50 or freaking 200. which is obviously not the same.
also, there is the complete lack of realizing what it means to be healthy and to not be thin. like, as has been said already it’s absolutely not a guarantee that being thin or skinny means that you’re healthy (I had a friend who used to be chubby, then got sick with a freaking chronic disease and came out of it with a body that ended up finding her a job as a fashion model but SHE STILL WAS HEALTHIER BEFORE THE FREAKING CHRONIC DISEASE), I’ve struggled with my extra kgs all my damned life and whenever I go on vacation with friends that are thinner than me but move around less or don’t go to the gym and the likes I am the one who can walk for longer or gets tired less and I have better blood tests than my father who’s at his ideal weight and takes five pills for a bunch of different stuff. some people are just heavier as a body type but if it’s their body and it’s not due to shitty eating or lack of exercise or whatever then they’re not unhealthy. obviously severely obese people who can’t walk for more than twenty minutes without feeling like fainting aren’t in that category but like never mind that for a moment, the problem is that your size doesn’t automatically mean unhealthy and having 20 extra kgs on you makes you fat maybe but not freaking obese.
THEN, on body positivity: there is a healthy difference between NOT BEING A JERK and spreading awareness re healthy habits. like, society/media and the likes shouldn’t promote being thin, they should promote being healthy ie eating well and exercising, not THIN = HEALTHY. as stated you can be healthy without being thin. (or, as the character we were talking about that you weren’t referencing, you can be mostly muscle and have some chub over it and THAT’S NOT BEING OBESE XD at the same time, if someone is overweight or obese or whatever for any reason whatsoever you can’t go at them and tell them omg go lose some weight you loser THAT’S HORRIBLE. I mean, there’s a difference between saying that one should try to be as healthy as possible and go like OMG YOU’RE FAT YOU’RE HORRIBLE. if body positivity means not shaming someone else for their body then go the fuck for it. the problem is that then according to people saying ‘okay but if you can’t walk to the supermarket and back without feeling short of breath and you might get heart diseases maybe you should consider dropping some extra weight for your own benefit’ is fatphobic which… lolno. not everyone is fat because of bad habits and they shouldn’t have people making them feel bad even if they are but assuming that the above sentence (especially when doctors recommend you to do more exercise) is inherently fatphobic imo is ridiculous. if my doctor tells me I should lose some weight then I’m gonna consider it and I’m not gonna feel like he’s *phobic*, if someone goes like ‘omg you’re so fat you’ll never find a guy who wants you’, that is fatphobic. like, THERE’S A DIFFERENCE. (at the same time people who are skinny/thinner than average shouldn’t get told all the time OMG PUT SOME MEAT ON THAT SKELETON REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES like fuck’s sake respect all body types. being a real woman has zero to do with how much meat you have on you.) what should be glorified is be healthy and be happy with whatever body type you have as long as it doesn’t cause you problems and at that point nicely try to make those problems right while you’re encouraged without shaming anyone in the process. (which also means: gdi don’t put other people down if they’re trying to gain weight or lose it, ffs.)
now, the problem with shipping: the thing is - and I swear to god I don’t wanna sound like a sjw now but I hope the previous essay has made clear how I feel in general on this issue - that, in my experience, fat/overweight characters especially if they’re male are seen as… either the laughing stock of the group or the harmless nerd or anyway never as sexual objects. every damned time I ship something where a guy is overweight/fat (notable exceptions jacob and queenie from fantastic beasts which tbh really was a nice surprise for the part where the fat guy who’s also a sweetheart hooks up with the bombshell and it’s THE BEST ROMANCE OF ALL good go you man) right as rain there’s rarely fic for it least of all porn, and even if there is someone will go around saying the fat character isn’t attractive or deserving of getting some. when I say ‘sam tarly syndrome’ I mean ‘fat/overweight guy is a sweetheart who has a lot of nice ships they could be in but they get thoroughly ignored or if it happens in canon fandom lols at it’. I mean, I basically had to start the jon/sam tag on my own (if you see the fics at the beginning it’s honestly sad to see TEN of mine all after the other), once on a kinkmeme I was like ‘okay doing it’ at a pwp prompt and I got as an answer OMG I WAS HOPING YOU’D SEE THIS NO ONE ELSE IN THIS FANDOM WRITES PORN FOR THESE TWO and whenever people discuss canon sex scenes…. the only one in the book that always gets lol-ed at is sam and gilly’s in spite of the fact that okay, it’s badly written, but ALL of the sex scenes in asoiaf except one are badly written. it’s not worse than the average. but sam getting some because a relatively hot girl wants him and the sex - omg! - actually being somewhat not vanilla is seen as… like… OMG HAHAHAHAHA I CAN’T BELIEVE HE’S GETTING SOME OMG HOW EMBARRASSING as if this guy being overweight means he can’t be seen as a palatable partner when it comes to having a sex life. same as the other anon being like ‘omg hunk (the person we were referring) is fat and unhealthy so he’s not good enough for the other person’ is… exactly the same. I mean, this hunk character is admittedly the one person in that bunch I’d actually date irl same as sam is the one character from asoiaf I’d date irl the others are completely out of the question, but since they’re *fat* naaaaah? and guess what sam/WHOEVER is a lot less popular than ships which make a lot less sense but are two hot characters stashed together bc they’re hot. (jaime/sansa has like 300+ fics and jon/sam is still under 100 but okay sure tell me it’s because it makes no sense. lol no. and being that the only porn around for those two was written by me and maybe two/three other people says all.)
at that point then people go like ‘well but it’s because they’re unhealthy’ and that is when it becomes ridiculous. because going with the above problem re fatshaming being a thing that happens on a societal level, it becomes IF YOU’RE FAT YOU’RE NOT SEXUALLY DESIRABLE AND NO ONE SHOULD WANT YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR UNHEALTHY WEIGHT, which mixes stuff that doesn’t even go together with being sexually desirable which is something inherently personal. as in: if someone who’s unhealthily fat for whichever reason has a significant other who loves them and their body guess what THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO HAVE A SEXUAL LIFE AND TO BANG PEOPLE/GET BANGED TO THEIR PLEASURE. because when it comes to preferences in the bedroom or loving a person, size can be a thing - some people have certain body shapes preferences and so on - or it cannot be a thing at all and anyway it doesn’t matter when it comes to your right to be seen as desirable/being desirable. people of all sizes can be desirable or sexy or definitely sexually available regardless of the size - like everyone is freaking allowed to be sexually desirable even if they don’t conform to whichever is the beauty canon around.
and given that I personally got told more than once also by admittedly well-meaning people that they wouldn’t ever consider seeing me as desirable because I was overweight or not as thin as other hot person around our class or even better, the aforementioned friend who turned out to be a fashion model using that as some coping mechanism (as in, she didn’t like being sick obv. but since she had come out of it with a scorching hot physique while I had then undiagnosed pcos so I was struggling with weight all the damned time and I was healthy otherwise... er let’s say that she used to tell me stuff like ‘ah well look at you and look at me instead how much better looking I am’ which obviously was in order to make herself feel better about her illness but sure as hell didn’t help me feeling good about myself), I’m honestly fucking tired of this whole trend in shipping where overweight/fat people don’t get any from their hot best friends with whom they’re absolutely shippable but the hot friends get shipped instead with the most improbable hot people that happens in 90% of fandoms I run into. because it’s just a reflection of how irl if you’re overweight a lot of the time people will say that your weight puts you out of the goddamned dating field and everyone deserves to be in there, damn it, regardless of their size. it has nothing to do with being healthy or unhealthy. and saying shit like ‘omg X is fat they’re not good enough for Y’ is really fucking old already.
tldr: I hope I made clear why I got pissed at the other anon and what I think of the whole matter. obviously no one has to glorify being *unhealthy* (extreme obesity and anorexia are both unhealthy) and no one needs to put other groups down while doing it (looking at you n*icki m*inaj - like sorry but according to my standards she’s thin, having a nice ass doesn’t make you *fat* or curvy, and going like FUCK ALL THOSE SKINNY BITCHES is the exact contrary of body positivity tbh). but at the same time everyone deserves to be seen as sexually desirable and it’s bullshit that the current narrative depicts being overweight as something undesirable. both in society and in fandom.
