Reminder that when you talk about Zionism with regard to the state of Israel, you are talking specifically about political Zionism. Although the two have more or less become synonymous in the modern age, there have historically been and still are other forms of Jewish Zionism that the numerous very valid critiques of political Zionism do not (necessarily) apply to, and many of them preceded political Zionism.

#when I say I am anti-Zionist #I mean I am actually anti-poltiical Zionism #that I disagree with the underlying philosophy behind the modern state of Israel #and the one that continues to drive it today #I don't think it is necessary to specify this every time we talk about Zionism #but i think it's important that people who use this term understand that it *can* refer to other things #zionism #jewish #jewish history
