Some of you people fail to consider that once you discover something is a social construct (like gender or sexism) that it doesn't make it go away even for other people who are rejecting the same social constructs as yourself. The way we are socialized will still influence our views on those things. It also doesn't make it disappear for other people who haven't realized they are just social constructs that shouldn't have as much weight as they do. No matter what, in order to attempt the destruction of the gender binary system you have to recognize the ways you still play into it and that includes your unconscious biases towards certain groups of people, especially trans and nonbinary people. Recognition of the way that the binary gender system influences how nonbinary and trans people are perceived, even by other nonbinary and trans people does not mean that you are accepting or enforcing a new binary system. It's important to recognize the ways that the gender binary still influences trans and nonbinary people in their daily lives and pointing it out isn't trying to continue the cycle... it's literally begging yall to pay attention to your behaviors and biases, especially if they're unconscious biases.
