Haven't stopped thinking abt Will tearing out his own heart. btw. Doing the thing that at one time mastered his anxiety into becoming the Seeker of sword and spell, just for it to be the visceral real equivalent that should kill him immediately, and to do so IN that "I would rather die than be this monster" way is... A Lot.

Who put his heart back. Was it us, the Seeker beyond the Seeker granting the fantastic, impossible miracle? Was is Will himself? Far too stubborn made of willpower and magic dust weaving him back together as soon as he decided to return? Did I miss something and it was the posthumous custody battle combatants--I mean, Kingly More and/or Eldan Queen that granted him another shot? ...did the party find him, chest gored out and bloodstained and Gallica in tears and just. Pump all the healing magic they could in his torn parts? A mix of these? GOD am I still thinking abt it.

I have nuanced or even conflicted thoughts on how Will may feel to be the Prince, to effectively have the Prince's body and perhaps his memories, and where the line between joy of living to disassociation from self lay for the lad, but I DO like to believe he does on the whole feel better about himself and hope for the world by the end, leading to those last hopeful epilogue scenes. But that won't stop the Horrors of nightmares for him either, where he's heartless and bleeding and a monster nonetheless-- things like that. So like. Hey. He ripped his own heart out. Twice, technically.

Thinking abt the Prince and the Protagonist both of Metaphor make me crazy. I suspected it would even early on in the game, but not. Not like this, now that I know things.

Because at the start of the game, I did have the half-joke of, "what are you so devoted to one guy you wanna break the curse of for, huh Will? Did you have your first lil gay crush and never get over his tragedy to the point of obsession~? It's you and Hulkenburg ready to die for this one lil guy?"

But like. It was half-joke because obviously, it'd never be admitted even if that were the case. But now knowing that Will was literally a part of the Prince, his will made manifest? It hits different. Not love like platonic or romantic but a third thing: the self only wanting the best for itself, made separate.

Will's unshaken devotion and assurance in the Prince's values are from a subconscious place, even when Will himself doesn't know why that is with the short time they "knew" each other in Will's memories; he knows himself, they know each other, even with Will being separate from the Prince and becoming his own person in a way, being made of another's soul gives him an insight indescribable to anyone else.

He knows these truths because he is the proof. Purpose, given shape.

Then I also can't stop thinking about the Royal Archetype ordeal. Because it lays bare the concept that Will is not the Prince, but he embodies the Archetype of the Prince. Whatever the real boy was, only a part of him becomes literally self-actualized. Whatever the eldan traveler could've been, he was always just an incomplete part of a whole. They are not the same, but forever in conversation with each other's existences to such a degree there's no external point of separation anymore.

The Prince always dreamed of Will and his journeys, and Will always wanted the Prince happy and healthy. Together then, shall their wishes be granted. Together then, and never apart again.

The point is that as long as there's fantasy, there's hope. Nothing will ever be perfect, never the perfect moment or life or world, but to dream is to wonder, to wonder to hope, to hope is to keep stepping ever onwards. If you can do that, then you can see change done. May it give you the strength to change, to evoke it yourself.

Nothing the sun touches or indeed lives among the world will ever be perfect. But if you can dream of it, fantasize on what things could be, you may yet find hope to change it.

Fantasy lives on, so as long as you have need of it. And what else is so human as to build fantasy in discussion with the things our world teaches us, what it lacks, what we should strive for?

Hope must stay a spark in you, to live.

Finished that dungeon, said fuck off to Louis twice, then as I watched him just float up into the fucking floating rocks that often make up an Atlus final battle zone, yelled at him, "NO! GET BACK HERE AND FIGHT ME, BITCH! STROHL WAS BEING NICIES TO OFFER NOT FIGHTING, BUT DOESN'T MEAN IT WASN'T ON THE TABLE. GET BACK HERE, YOU FUCK!!!"

And now there's a week before fighting him and I have nothinggggg left to do. Just wandering around talking to everyone and unsure how to spend the time. Kicking rocks down the road.
