Why the Left is left nowhere in India ?
You will ideally see in the media that the leftists or communists are mainly defined as the two political parties i.e CPI (Communist party of India) and CPM (Communist party of India- Marxist). Before we go into why the leftists are no longer relevant and being time and again rejected in India, let us know who the real leftists or communists are. In reality, the real leftists are filled in the media, academia, intellectuals, activists, lawyers, bollywood, comedians and many other sectors. You can easily identify them since they all end up having the same approach towards politics. First they will disguise themselves as someone being independent in their views and then press their agenda. Second the only person whose opinion that matters is their own. You can clearly see their behaviour since the Gujarat 2002 riots till today. Even if the then Chief Minister got a clean chit from the Supreme Court, it is still that their opinion is supreme and that he is a culprit. Third, they support terrorists like Ishrat Jahan, Afzal Guru, Yakub Menon (remember how they went at 2 am to the Supreme Court to stop him from being hanged) and Burhan Wani. Fourth, they all speak for only one community whether its the Gujarat Riots, Muzaffarnagar Riots, Mob Lynching and even as we saw in CAA it was only about one community. For example in the case of lynching, as an Indian I would want justice for every victim whether it be Akhlaq, Ramesh or Peter regardless of the community one belongs to but for the commies that is not the case. Ofcourse there are some exceptions in the leftists as well and I have friends and family who support the left ideology and oppose Modi, who still talk sense but others are just too full of themselves and think it is only their opinion that matters. Even the Congress which was at one time more Nationalistic who took decisions like the nuclear deal which was in the nation's interest have now become leftist e.g we saw in the JNU incident in 2016 where after Anti National speeches were made in the campus, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi went there to give his support and called it "Free Speech". Right from there to opposing Surgical and Balakot strikes to removing the Sedition Law as a promise in their manifesto.
Now that we know who they are, let's come to the question why the left is left nowhere in India ? Well this is not just the case in India but the entire World. You look at countries especially the big economies like the US, UK, Germany, France and Japan, the left have and are been wiped out by the people of those countries. There are many other countries like Israel, Australia, Turkey, Russia, Brazil and Greece (the last two being left bastions at one time) where the left had to beat the dust. Amidst the Coronavirus some might not be aware that Bernie Sanders (hero of the leftists across the World) from the Democrats has failed to even become the Democrats representative for taking on Donald Trump in the next US elections. There are lots of reasons behind the leftists debacle but the main reason is that their ideas and opinions have no relevance amongst the common public and that is why they are getting rejected. You look at their stand on various issues whether it be gender, religion and human rights. In the name of gender equality rather than fighting for women's rights their "feminism" is used for male bashing (even many women do not agree with their fake feminism) and in the name of equality in religion, Hindu bashing has been their way of getting it (even many Muslims disagree with this approach). Supporting terrorists and as we recently saw rapists in the Nirbhaya case in the name of human rights has been their policy. There is a big difference between equality and appeasement and when you have ideas like these, getting rejected is the inevitable result.
Personal attacks is another reason for the failure of the left. It has been close to 2 decades that the leftists have been calling Modi Hitler, Fascist, Anti Muslim and the list goes on but the results have been in front of everyone to see. Attacking a leader can be part of a strategy like the BJP does for Rahul Gandhi but to just use that as your only strategy will not help one garner enough support. It is the same mistake that the leftists made in the US and UK where they were too busy attacking Trump and Johnson respectively and telling the people how horrible they are but we saw what the results were. People are looking for solutions to their problems especially the youth and that is what these leaders are giving them. If the leftists have something better to offer, they should come up with it rather than critizing for the sake of criticizing and indulging just in personal attacks.
Freedom is another reason behind the leftists situation in India. Now freedom is everyone's right and having a contrarian view is also one's right but when you say Anti National Speech is free speech, not standing for the National Anthem is a right and not respecting institutions like the Parliament, the Government, the Supreme Court, the Army and the Police is one's right, there is only one end to this kind of freedom. Again criticising and allegations on institutions are two different things but unfortunately for the left freedom to put allegations has been their right. Also hypocrisy in freedom of speech has recently been seen where a journalist was physically attacked for asking question from a political family but the so called champions of freedom of speech and press went missing because the journalist has a different view as theirs and the family had never been questioned by them for reasons well known to them.
In India for a very long time there was a lobby in the media, intellectuals, academia etc who used to enjoy this monopoly where only their opinion used to matter. But since the Modi Government came into power in 2014 things have changed. Today there are media channels that give a contrarian view to theirs and are getting support from the public. Social Media has played a big role in countering the leftists in the media, where only my opinion matters days are over and any false propaganda is busted.
Another reason for the lefts debacle has been their policy to oppose the country in an attempt to oppose Modi. Now as I mentioned before it was completely fine for them to oppose Modi since we are in a Democracy but when you oppose the country is where people will not tolerate the nonsense. Be it supporting terrorists, naxalites, taking the same stand as Pakistan on issues like Kashmir, Army and Air Strikes, CAA and saying Indian Muslims are not safe in India is only going to lead to one result and that is rejection from the people of India. As we have seen in the Coronavirus situation as well, they are too busy with their propaganda against India along with their leftist foreign media and embarrassing themselves by saying why India is not doing well whereas the entire World including WHO is lauding India for their work in containing the virus.
There is nothing wrong in thinking you are smart but if you think you are the only ones who are smart, then you are living in an illusion and unfortunately that is the case with the leftists. I am not saying that the rightists are filled with saints but the issue is the left have lost so much credibility and are so far from ground realities not just in India but in the World, that even if the right is not that strong they end up getting elected by the people (Angela Merkel in Germany being the classic example).
I still believe that there is space for the leftist in Indian politics and there should be a strong opposition in a Democracy which role the left can play especially the Congress. For that to happen there are some do's and don'ts. The Do's are raising issues that effect the common man like education, jobs, healthcare and the overall Economic issues. They need to go back to the old left which was of the masses like the farmers and labourers rather than being identified as the liberal elitists who sit in their ac rooms giving opinions and having no clue about the ground realities. Don'ts are to stop Hindu and India bashing which are currently only hampering their credibility. They can learn a thing or two from one of their favourite leftist leader Arvind Kejriwal who has been taking Nationalistic stands right from supporting abrogation of Article 370 to keeping Nationalistic subjects in education. He has also become a Hanuman Bhakt but I am not saying the leftists need to do that, just stopping Hindu bashing can help get some credibility back. As I mentioned before personally attacking Modi is only going spiral back like it has done since Gujarat 2002 but attacking on issues can gain some traction.
So rather than taking stands like not wanting to stand for the National Anthem because it is one's freedom, I want the real leftists to please stand up, openly support and oppose an ideology but we should always stand together and keep our Nation above Politics.
Jai Hind !!!

‘Urban Naxals, Cong lying on detention centres for Muslims’: PM Modi on CAA - india news
Tumblr media
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused Congress and “urban Naxals” of spreading rumours and misleading and inciting people over the citizenship act during a massive rally in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan amid countrywide protests over the new legislation. The Prime Minister also backed the police force, which has been charged with brutality and firing at agitators during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests have spread across the country and dozens of protesters have died in police action. The highest number of deaths have been reported from Uttar Pradesh in protests that have taken place in the aftermath of this month’s passage of CAA, which seeks to fast-track the grant of Indian citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsi in the Muslim-majority countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The death toll has risen to 17 in the state with the fatalities in Saturday’s unrest and the overnight deaths of six people hurt in clashes on Friday. Many of them died of bullet injuries. “I want to ask them when we authorised the unauthorised colonies, did we ask anyone about their religion? Did we ask which political party do they support? Did we ask for documents from 1970,1980?” Modi questioned while speaking at the ‘Aabhar Rally’.“Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians all befitted. Everyone who lives here was benefitted. Why did we do this? Because we live for the love of the country. We are dedicated to the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’,” he said.“Today those people who are misleading Muslims in the name of papers and certificates, they should remember that we did not put restrictions in terms of paper while choosing beneficiaries of schemes for the betterment of the poor,” he continued. As he questioned the opposition on its stance on the citizenship act, he asked the youth to educate themselves about the legislation.“Congress, its friends and some urban Naxals are spreading rumours that all Muslims will be sent to detention centres... Respect your education, read what is the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. You are educated,” he said. The citizenship act will only apply to those people who have been living in India for several years and no new refugee will benefit from it, the Prime Minister said.“The Citizenship Amendment Act is not to take away anyone’s citizenship but it is to give citizenship to people,” PM Modi said.He had earlier launched a blistering attack on the present dispensation and “dishonest” opposition, saying the Bharatiya Janata Party does not ignore people’s problems like the previous governments did in Delhi.“Even after several decades of Independence, a large section of the population in Delhi had to face fear, uncertainty, deceit and false electoral promises. Illegal, sealing, bulldozer and a cut-off date—the life of a large population in Delhi was confined around these words,” Modi said.“Millions of people in Delhi have had to bear frauds, cheats, and fake political promises over several decades in the post-Independence era,” he said. As the Prime Minister talked about regularising unauthorised colonies to expanding the Metro connections, he also attacked the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government over issues faced by Delhi’s residents.“Had the Delhi govt not politicised the Phase 4 project of Delhi Metro, its work would have started much earlier. That is why I say that those who do politics in your name, never understood your pain, they never intended to do that,” he said as the crowd cheered on.Several BJP leaders including Union ministers Harsh Vardhan and Hardeep Puri, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, Hansraj Hans, Vijay Goel, Meenakshi Lekhi, were also present. This is Modi’s first election rally in Delhi since he won a massive mandate for a second term in Lok Sabha elections earlier this year. The Prime Minister’s rally comes on the heels of widespread protests over the amended citizenship law that grants citizenship to non-Muslims who escaped to India fearing religious persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. In a statement, senior BJP leader Vijay Goel said the rally is being organised to thank the Prime Minister for giving ownership rights to 40 lakh residents of 1731 unauthorised colonies. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the ruling party in the national capital, had already launched its campaign with ‘Acchhe beete paanch saal, lage raho Kejriwal’ slogan on Friday. The Delhi polls will be held early next year. Kapil Mishra approaches CBI, submits 'irrefutable proof' against Delhi CM Kejriwal
New Delhi: A day after withdrawing his fast, axed Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday approached the CBI against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his alleged involvement in money laundering.
Mishra claimed that he has submitted “irrefutable proof” against the Delhi chief minister and two AAP MLAs, whom he did not name, to the central investigation agency over their alleged links with several fake companies.
“A person who came riding on the promise to fight the country’s corrupt political system, to fight elections using donations from small sources, stands exposed today. He has attempted to run the AAP using black money,” he told reporters.
On May 14, Mishra, a former close confidante of the AAP chief, had accused Kejriwal and the AAP of “massive” financial irregularities, including funneling money through shell companies, while taking donations.
Shell companies are basically fronts that do not indulge in any substantial trade, for carrying out illegal
transactions.
Soon after being removed as a minister, Mishra had trained his guns at the AAP chief, accusing him of bribery. However, he is yet to support his allegations with any proof.
He had been on a six-day fast in protest against the AAP’s “refusal” to disclose the details of the foreign trips of his five party leaders.

Cellular blackout, Metro stations shut as protests against CAA grips Delhi - india news
Tumblr media
Police enforced an unprecedented crackdown in large parts of the Capital on Thursday — ordering a prohibition on assembly, switching off mobile connectivity, shutting down Metro stations, and detaining people who defied the ban on demonstrations — to quell protests against a new citizenship law that has roiled India. The restrictions led to people going without mobile phone services for four hours in the city, a first, being forced to disembark three Metro stations before their destination and walking to offices in central Delhi, and stuck for nine hours in the worst traffic snarl in Gurugram since 2016. Thousands of people still swamped the streets on a grey misty morning and demanded the government roll back the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, or CAA, which opens an easy route to naturalisation for “persecuted minorities” from three Muslim-majority countries. Within an hour of people gathering at 9am, columns of police personnel started bundling protesters into buses outside Red Fort and Mandi House, transporting scenes of crowd control measures familiar in the country’s restive frontier states to the heart of India’s Capital. Television visuals showed protesters being dragged into buses and dropped off in the outer fringes of the city. Section 144, which prevents the assembly of four or more people, was clamped from Red Fort in north Delhi to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in the south; Seelampur in north-east Delhi to Mayur Vihar in the east; and the New Delhi area. Many officers admitted that this was the first time in at least three decades — going back to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots — that prohibitory orders were issued for such a large area in Delhi. At least 20 metro stations spanning the length and breadth of Delhi — from Vishwavidyalaya in the north to Central Secretariat in central Delhi and Munirka in the south — were shut down between 9am and 7pm. Even the arterial Rajiv Chowk station, which handles around 300,000 passengers daily, was closed for four hours. Police also ordered four major service providers — Airtel, Vodaphone-Idea, Reliance Jio and MTNL — to switch off internet, messaging and voice call services in parts of north, central, north-east and south-east Delhi at 9am. This is the first time that the measure – currently enforced across some parts in five states, especially in Assam – was implemented in the city. Services were restored after 1pm. According to an annual study of Freedom House, a US-based non-profit research organisation, India is the country with the worst record of government-mandated internet shutdowns in the world — including a four-month-long suspension of services in Kashmir since August. Police barricaded the Delhi-Gurugram highway early on Thursday morning, triggering a major traffic jam that cost many commuters up to nine hours on the road and forced airlines to cancel 19 flights because both passengers and flight crew were stuck on the road. Another 250 flights were affected. The ensuing jam was the worst since the so-called Guru Jam that lasted 20 hours in 2016 and forced authorities to implement major traffic and infrastructure changes. Police said the restrictions were needed to prevent violence seen at two previous demonstrations in Seelampur and Jamia Nagar. On Sunday, a mob torched buses in south Delhi and police using tear gas on protesters gathered near Jamia Millia Islamia. At least 21 people were injured and 20 vehicles damaged when a protest of around 2,000 people turned violent in Seelampur on Tuesday. Delhi Police spokesperson, MS Randhawa, said the telecommunication services were temporarily suspended to prevent fake messages. “We had inputs that some outsiders were spreading rumours to mobilise crowd. We are monitoring social media posts and will take action against rumour mongers,” he added. But protesters, many of whom walked back or hitched rides to Jantar Mantar from outer Delhi, contended that the orders were aimed at muzzling dissent. “It is shameful how the government wants to suppress any form of dissent. They want to turn the Capital into Kashmir,” said Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union president Aishe Ghosh, who was at Jantar Mantar. As evening fell, slogan-shouting at Jantar Mantar gave way to people drawing anti-government graffiti on the road, singing songs in support of the Constitution and fundamental rights, and even offering roses to the police. Despite the restrictions and detentions, the protests were peaceful — a sharp contrast to similar demonstrations in other parts of the country, especially in Uttar Pradesh and Mangaluru where rampaging mobs torched vehicles, clashed with police and pelted stones. At least three people died across the country. The government has shown no signs of backing down from the CAA, which represents a major campaign promise of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). At an event, home minister Amit Shah blamed the unrest across India on “infiltrators” and “outsiders”. “Some political parties are fuelling protests against CAA. They are inciting women, students and others in the name of religion,” the junior home minister, G Kishan Reddy, told reporters later in the day. The Opposition called the day a second Emergency. “This government has no right to shut down colleges, telephones & the Internet, to halt metro trains and to impose Section144 to suppress India’s voice & prevent peaceful protests. To do so is an insult to India’s soul,” said senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded the Centre withdraw the law. “Law & order situation is deteriorating across the country with each passing day, which is a cause of extreme worry…,” he said. Last week, the government pushed through Parliament the CAA, which fast-tracks the process of citizenship for refugees from Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, Christian and Jain faiths who fled Afghanistan, Pakistan or Bangladesh because of religious persecution and entered India on or before December 31, 2014. The Opposition and civil society say the law is unconstitutional because it links faith to citizenship and discriminatory because it omits Islam. “If this legislation is blatantly discriminatory to my fellow Muslims and is used to intimidate them and harass them, all of us have to stand up against it. The CAA is completely illogical,” said noted historian Ramachandra Guha, who was picked up by police at a protest in Bengaluru and released later. The protests first erupted across the North-east, where local people feel the law will trigger an influx of illegal Hindu migrants from Bangladesh, but soon spread to various parts of the country, including West Bengal. Clashes broke out in Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia on Sunday after police entered the university, allegedly lobbed tear gas shells into the library and thrashed students and other protesters. Over 50 students were detained as mobs burnt down buses and pelted stones. A second protest broke out in north-east Delhi’s Seelampur on Tuesday, where a mob assaulted policemen, pelted stones at them and shouted slogans. The violence continued for over one-and-a-half hours as the police contingent, including Rapid Action Force personnel, fired more than 200 tear gas shells and 46 gas grenades and resorted to lathi charge to disperse the protesters.
