“Having evolved over thousands of years in a natural environment unlike Shin Godzilla, this one appears to have heavy plates of natural armour over it's vitals rather than extensive offensives. Which begs the question… what manner of creatures was it protecting itself from?”

Several months after the reawakening of Shin Godzilla a second Godzilla appeared and made landfall South of the ruins Tokyo. Unlike Shin however this one seemed born of natural evolution and not a monstrous walking cancer. It wandered through the city wards towards the site where the original Gojira had been frozen, as if it was searching for something. It curiously avoided denser settlements where it could. When attacked by military forces it fled back to the ocean to avoid conflict. Extensive research was promptly done by the UN Taskforce codenamed: MONARCH and concluded that although it evolved from the same prehistoric life form as Shin Gojira, this Godzilla's evolution occurred naturally over several hundred years instead of the unnaturally short time Shin's did. Yoroi Gojira seeks to destroy every trace of Shin Gojira, seeing the creature as both a threat to its title as King and an affront to nature itself.

Operation Kiryu runs the first tests of its prototype MG00 as strange purple auroras occur at the poles and reports start appearing of strange giant insects sighted in the South Pacific Islands. Dr Ishiro Serizawa and his team encounter some strange beings while investigating these reports.
