Our cosplay at Sandrock-

I showed this surprise on the OTAS discord already but forgot to post it here;

I was tidying up my cosplay's closet and when I saw some wig, I thought "hey, I can try to do cosplay of some builder"

So I did it ; I search for each Pinterest board people created for their OC to find some outfit inspiration, but actually that's hard because every clothes style are different-

The cosplay are made with things I already have at home, so it's not very accurate for some OC, I apologize 🥲

Unsuur x "Builder" Just a quiet lil baby girl, her name is Opal and she talks to Wilson all the time and Captain (Who I imagine retired at some point) who became her lil support Captain cause she a shy gorl. I think she holds the sleeves of Unsuur and "Builder" anytime they walk around. Captain, Unsuur, and Opal all share a birthday. Arvio x "Builder" Oh my sweet bb Marigold who probably has a million siblings. She loves her Papa and Mama, but the fact she has her Mama's eyes scares her a lil. THEY GLOW IN THE DARK?? It's scary like the monsters under her bed! But Mama hums her songs all the time so its okay. She is real close with Aunty Amirah. Ernest x "Builder" A GRUMPY GOOSE!!! Ernest is so over the top and in love with Quillian's Mom and it drives him NUTS?? STOP Kissing mom in the kitchen every MORNING EUGH GROSS. Also stop stealing her attention blarg. Anyway he does love his Dad but GOSH annoying. He wants more siblings please, he cannot stand to be the soul witness to his Dad's affection towards Mom.

In keeping with my theme of redrawing all of my Sandrock oc refs, next is my main builder who underwent arguably the biggest redesign - Hestia! Hestia is a character I hold near and dear to my heart for many reasons, so I wanted her redesign to showcase a bit more personality and bubbliness :3 I looove how they turned out!

Hestia is a 24 year old builder who was born in Portia, but knows the Free Cities like the back of his hand. Living in a family who moved at least once a year, it’s no exaggeration to say Hestia has lived in every single part of the free cities. She’s very passionate about building as it was the hobby of their late father, and a way that they bonded in their formative years. Hestia is friendly, bubbly, and a natural chatterbox, who always seems to have *something* to say, even if it isn’t necessarily the right thing. They’re my Fang romancer, though they’re also incredibly close with Owen, Heidi and Rocky!

I like them a lot :3

Decided to go ahead and try to make bios for these two since @wardenswateringhole has gotten me addicted to this game lol. Pecha is my “plug in to any fandom” oc now and Cal always goes along since he’s her dad.

I ship Pecha with both Owen and Logan but Owen is becoming more of the canonical love interest. They’re separate aus.

I ship Cal with Howlett and Zeke. (But Howlett is spoilers territory so I won’t dive into that)

Cal’s function in the game would be bugs, of course. There’s no bugs to help with planting other than worms and that’s always bugged me in games with gardening/farming. Bugs are a big benefit! So I imagine Cal collects bug materials like chitin shell and such and then offers things like a butterfly hutch that would make your crops give more seeds and other bugs that give buffs like that.

Pecha is kinda a jack of all trades in the town. She’s the one hurrying around trying to help everyone before the builder comes in. Her plot is trying to learn what she wants to do with her life rather than putting others first all the time. I do think if she was in the game, she would be a romancable. (I also have a plot twist idea for her that I’ll show when I’m done refining it but it’s also spoilers so uhhh play the game.)

My Time at Sandrock FINALLY had its full release, so guess what I've been playing! I made a character that I've grown really fond of and have developed into a full OC, so meet Zoey the Builder!

I decided to draw her in her early game outfit cuz she looked cute in it. I'm still pretty early on in the game so her outfits will change with time. :D

Backstory and character info under the cut!

Backstory

Before becoming a Builder, Zoey previously worked as a freelance bounty hunter, travelling across the Free Cities and beyond. She got into the work through her parents, who were also bounty hunters and trained her as they raised her.

When a job went wrong and she was forced to kill a target who fiercely fought back, she had an epiphany as she looked at her blood-soaked hands. She didn’t want this. She’s not sure if she ever did want this.

Following this, she decided to abandon her life as a bounty hunter and try to make something of her life. Only issue is, this is the only life and skill she’s ever known, and she’d like to avoid another career that’ more fighting. Thankfully, her aunt and uncle living in Highwind were happy to take her in and help her figure things out.

It took some time to figure out what she COULD do. Due to her upbringing, she didn’t have a traditional education, which meant a lot of special education was locked away from her. Eventually, they settled on something that’s accessible to everyone: a Builder.

After going through her training, she was granted her Builder’s licence. At the same time, an interesting opportunity caught her eye. Sandrock were putting out a call for a new Builder to replace the one that was retiring. She’s never been to Sandrock other than passing through, never really need to. She had no ties to an existing workshop, and there was practically no chance of anyone from her old life recognising her there. It was perfect. It was the true start to her new life.

About Her

Late 20’s when the game starts (Mid 20’s when she stopped being a bounty hunter)

Around 5ft 3in

Due to her past, Zoey struggles to property express herself emotionally. She shut the emotional side of herself for years for her bounty hunting work, and she is trying to cope and recover from that. She usually has a straight face or a resting glare, and she is very quiet, usually only giving short answers and speaking when spoken to. This changes the longer she lives in Sandrock.

As she struggles with her words, she expresses her feelings through her actions. She will give people gifts, varying from things she knows they like to things they’ve said they need in passing, and will help people even if they don’t ask her to. She’s self-conscious about coming across as rude or cold to people (at least the ones she likes) so she hopes that her actions make up for it.

She stopped training and fighting when she retired from bounty hunting, so she’s very out of practice when she arrives to Sandrock. She’s slowly building her skills back up again, this time to help the town and keep people safe. And because Pen kicking her butt and nicknaming her “Skinny Arms” will never not tick her off.

She’s close with her Aunt and Uncle, who both live and work in Highwind. They’re the ones who send her letters during the game, she hasn’t seen or spoken to her parents in years. She met Nia while Zoey living with them in Highwind and Nia took to her very quickly, she could talk more than enough for the two of them.

Zoey wasn’t sure if a Builders like would suit her when she first started but she soon discovered that she loves making things with her own hands. She likes to experiment with different mediums of arts and crafts when she’s not working.
