Homework (Donnie X Reader)
You sigh, leaning back in your chair. You look over at your clock, the time reading 11:46. You started on your homework around 9, and you've only gotten 10 questions done out of the 30 that needed to be completed. Those answers were just guesses though. Math wasn't your best subject, you'd rather be doing english or science. Something that had more words and less numbers.
You sat there for what felt like hours, trying to wrap your head around the problems placed in front of you. You thought you were doing it right, but something just seemed off. The answers didn't look right. You sighed once again, placing your face into your hands. You were stressed beyond belief, why did math have to be so hard?
You couldn't ask your parents for help, they didn't understand it any better than you did. You knew you had to get it done though, you couldn't just walk into school tomorrow with an incomplete assignment. Even so, you were so close to balling it up, tossing it in the trash and heading to bed.
Before you could decide what you were going to do next, you heard a faint tapping on your window. You looked over, seeing Donatello, or Donnie. He was one of the ninja turtles that roamed the city, protecting it from evil. He was the smart one out of the group, brilliant when it came to technology, science, and in this case, math.
Forgetting all about your homework, you walked over and opened up the window for Donnie. A smile was plastered on your face, your stress was suddenly relieved when you got a look at the turtle. "Hey Don," you softly spoke. "Its good to see you, but may I ask what you're doing here?" You ask.
"Well I uh-" Donnie tripped on his words a bit. I don't think he even knew why he decided to stop by. "I just wanted to say check on you, yknow, kraang and foot soldiers are around and all..." He trailed off, looking at your desk and noticed a bunch of papers all in a pile. Some had scribbles on them, others had doodles, and the rest where numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division signs where you trying to work out problems from your homework.
"Having trouble?" He asked, referring to your work. You had completely forgotten about it, so hearing Donnie mentioning it made you groan. "Yeah, I just don't understand it." You admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed. Donnie understood though, work at school only got harder as you progressed.
"Would you like me to help you?" He kindly offered. You looked over at him with desperation in your eyes. "Please." You whispered. Donnie then climbed into your room and walked over to your desk, stepping over items you had scattered all over the room and ducking the ceiling fan. He was quite tall, his head almost touched the roof. He kneeled down beside your desk and gestured for you to come over.
You did, sitting back down in your chair, showing him the parts you didn't quite understand. He nodded, listening to every word you said. "I see, although it may seem confusing, it's actually quite simple, here." He grabbed one of your pencils, that was so tiny compared to his large hands, and worked out one of the problems on your worksheet. You watched and listened as he explained the work to you. Something about Donnie explaining it seemed so much more easier to understand than your own teacher explaining it.
After he finished explaining, you quickly got the gist of it and finished the rest of the problems in no time. You were actually happy, a wave of euphoria washed over you. Knowing that you finally understood the work and being able to finish it put you at ease. You looked over at the turtle, giving him a warm smile. "Thank you so much Don, you really helped me so much. You explained much better than my teacher did."
A light blush spread across Donnie's face. He was happy that he was able to help you and make smile. "It was nothing, if you ever need me, just call me up, I'll be here in no tim-" He was cut off, making a small 'oof' when he felt you lunge towards him, pulling him into a tight embrace. He was taken off guard for a bit and tensed up, but soon relaxed when he realized how much he enjoyed hugging you.
He stroked your hair, enjoying the nice scent that came from it. Neither of you knew how long you stood there in each others arms, but you assumed it was too long. You pulled away, clearing your throat. "Um.. thanks, again. I couldn't have done this without you." Donnie smiled. "It was no problem. Im always here if you need me..." Realizing that had he head to head back to the sewers upset him.
"...I need to head back home now, sorry I couldn't stay longer." He said, crawling back out your window. "Get some sleep, its late." He told you, about to head off until you leaned in, placing a small kiss on his cheek. "You get some sleep too." You replied. Donnie's face reddened, he wanted to say something, but he couldn't find the words. He only smiled sheepishly and headed off back to the sewers, still in trance from the kiss you gave him. He definitely had to come back and help you out with homework more, if that was going to be his reward.
