A vice-chancellors delegation comprising of Prof. Dr Niaz Akhtar Punjab University, Prof. Dr Muhammad Saleem Azhar University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr Abdul Sattar Shakir PTUT Lahore, Dr Mahmood Saleem Mir Chakar Khan Rind University and Dr Naveed A Chaudhary Emerson University Multan called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar. Higher Education Minister Raja Yasir Humayun, SACM Hasaan Khawar, secretaries of higher education and finance departments, registrars of Punjab University and UET Taxila were also present.
The CM announced to give, in principle, approval to disparity allowance for teachers and employees of universities and assured to resolve universities' problems. The finance department has been given instructions about allowance while other matters will also be streamlined; he assured and added that work was being done on the smart university project. The founding of a university in every district was a mission of the government, he said. Meanwhile, Seerat Chairs have also been established in six universities and its scope would be further expanded, he announced. The government would extend full support to you to promote higher education in the province, the CM concluded.

CM ATTENDS MEHFIL-E-MILAD ON 12 RABIUL AWAL
LAHORE, October 20:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar attended the Mehfil-e-Milad held at CMO's mosque on 12 Rabiul Awal to celebrate the blessed arrival of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to this world.
Qari Muhammad Rafique Naqshbandi recited the Holy Quran while DG Auqaf Tahir Raza Bukhari delivered his speech about Seeratun Nabi (PBUH). Alhaj Muhammad Faisal Naqshbandi, Abdul Samad Saraqa and Asrar Azam Chishti recited Na'at. Auqaf Minister Saeed ul Hassan Shah delivered a speech to illustrate the glory of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and prayed for peace, stability and solidarity of the country. Provincial Minister Asad Khokhar, Nazir Ahmed Chohan MPA, auqaf secretary and CMO officials attended the ceremony.
The blessed arrival of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to this world has transformed the whole world as He laid the foundation of an Islamic welfare state by introducing far-reaching reforms in every sphere of life, the CM added.

SPECIAL MEALS FOR PRISONERS ON 12 RABIUL AWAL
LAHORE, October 20:
On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, special meals were arranged for prisoners in all the jails on 12 Rabiul Awal. Paratha, tea and halwa were given in breakfast while chicken biryani, yogurt and traditional zarda were given in lunch. The prisoners were given dinner comprising of chicken boti, vermicelli and Kashmiri tea.
This was done in connection with the auspicious occasion of the advent of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who has practised taking care of the captives and set examples of well treating them because detainees are humans like anybody else, the CM added.

CM VISITS KASHANA WELFARE HOME
LAHORE, October 20:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Kashana Welfare Home along with his family members on 12 Rabiul Awal and extended congratulations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) to the inmates. He distributed gifts among the destitute girls residing there. The girls thanked the CM for taking care of them like his daughters. Upon their demand, the CM announced to arrange a visit of inmates to hill station Murree as official guests along with a study tour of the city of Lahore.
I am duty-bound to take care of you and the government would continue to provide resources for looking after you, he continued. I was disheartened to observe the inadequate facilities during the first visit but it is sanguine that enough facilities have been provided to you, the CM concluded.

CM VISITS FM 95 PUNJAB RUNG RADIO AT PILAC
LAHORE, October 20:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the FM95 Punjab Rung radio at PILAC and received live calls from the listeners who were pleasantly surprised to hear the chief minister live. They asked the CM to share his favourite couplet and appreciated a direct dialogue with the CM. They pointed out that Usman Buzdar was the first chief minister to adopt a public approach to liaise with the people. The CM divulged that the non-commercial TV would also start transmissions soon.

CM EXTOLS PAK NAVY
LAHORE, October 20:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has paid tributes to Pakistan Navy for thwarting the nefarious designs of the Indian Navy and termed the Pak Navy officials as the pride of the nation.
In a statement, the CM said India has again exposed its wicked face to the world by making a futile attempt to intrude into Pakistan's territorial waters. The nation is proud of the professional abilities of the Pak Navy and the coward enemy should remember that the whole nation is fully united to give a befitting reply to any aggression. Meanwhile, the 220 million people are standing like a solid rock with the armed forces of Pakistan, the CM concluded.

CM INSPECTS CLEANLINESS SITUATION IN THE CITY
LAHORE, October 20:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited various sections of the provincial metropolis without protocol to review the situation of cleanliness. He drew his vehicle sans staff officer, security officer and official photographer and cameraman.
The CM expressed displeasure over the poor cleanliness situation in some areas and directed the LWMC to improve the sanitation arrangements adding that the cleanliness plan should be daily monitored. No compromise would be made in this regard as I have been receiving complaints about the situation of cleanliness; he said and reiterated that the provision of a clean environment to the citizens is the responsibility of the government.

CM INAUGURATES CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT PILAC
LAHORE, October 20:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated a calligraphic exhibition held in connection with Ashra Shan-e-Rahmatul-Lil-Alameen at PILAC to showcase the calligraphic talent of Pakistani and Iranian artists till 30-Rabiul Awal. He also inaugurated the mural painting of famous artist Aslam Kamal. An artist presented a picture of a Pakistan map in which Kalma-e-Tayyaba was written 1443 times. Another artist presented the uniquely-made picture to Usman Buzdar.
The CM said the government was promoting young artists to support the art of calligraphy in society. Culture Minister Khayal Ahmed Kastro, information secretary, DG PILAC and DGPR were also present.

LAHORE, October 20:
On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Punjab province showed excellent performance and took the lead regarding the celebration of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen as hundreds of thousands of ceremonies held in private and government institutions across the province. Special editions were published and programmes were broadcasted in print and electronic media highlighting the activities of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen. Husan-e-Qirat, Na’at, Speech, Competitions and Muhafil-e-Milad were also held in all the schools, colleges and universities across the province while in Lahore a Natia Mushahra was also held in Lahore. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar also participated in a religious conference along with scholars belonging to a different school of thought. Chief Minister had announced the celebration of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen on 1st Rabi ul Awal and also announced to give Rehmatul-lil-Alameen medals to police and other law enforcing agencies officials. CM office and all other government buildings were also illuminated during Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen. CM announced to increase scholarships for deserving students up to one billion. Seerat chairs were established in the universities of Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Chakwal and Okara.  Chief Minister had attended the main ceremony presided over by PM Imran Khan. CM also visited central jail Kot Lakhpat and announced the prison’s package worth rupees 5.5 billion beside 60 days remission in inmates punishment. CM announced a security allowance equivalent to one basic pay not only for jail employees but also upgraded their posts and announced jail shuhada package. On the direction of CM, air coolers, exhaust fans, LED lights, additional fans, TV cable networks would also be installed. Similarly, sports and medical camps would be set up for inmates while a parole committee has been constituted for working on modalities release of ailing and senior handicapped inmates. Prison van and ambulance would also be provided on the directions of CM Punjab. CM also inaugurated a gym and fitness centre for prisoners. In connection with the celebration of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar attended a Mehfil-e-Sama held at Lahore Arts Council; renowned Qawwal Abu Muhammad along with fellows presented Sufi Kalam, Hamd and Natia Qawali in different languages. Chief Minister also attended an “ISM-E-MUHAMMAD” calligraphic exhibition held under the auspices of Punjab Arts Council at Alhamra Arts Gallery and distributed medals among the position holder calligraphers. CM also attended Eid Milad-un-Nabi Mehfil at Jamia Masjid in CM Office and also visited Kashana along with his family and presented gifts to the children residing at Kashana and announced a tour of Murree and Lahore for them.
