Saga of Starlink Continues
First day using Starlink for a work group and even though Bill worked hard yesterday to get it set up there was still a bit of finegling to get connected. BUT once we did WOO HOO! - it was such a pleasure to have flawless internet instead of video freezing, audio glitches and always on the edge of your seat knowing it could drop at any time.
Bill figured out a couple things drawing down the stored battery power from the solar panels (refrigerator on Auto power thought it should switch from gas to electric every time the invertor was turned on, and the generator fan ran - both huge power hogs). With these solutions Starlink can now run without the generator (well, except early in the morning before the sun has given us enough charge).  We used alot of power this afternoon getting the tv hooked up to the Starlink and did a bit of computer work so we'd used up a lot of power and we wanted to watch a movie. What we're making for dinner required using the microwave and toaster - both require the umph of the generator. This was perfect - we could use the generator to charge up the batteries at the same time. But just as the toasted garlic bread was half done the generator have 2 coughs and stopped.  Oh boy, we aren't sure the stored solar power will make it for a 3 hr video session and of course there's one tomorrow afternoon. Bill has ideas though so already has the plan - stay tuned.
