the first ever sketch of Liberty that i did

he's the main vocalist for his nu metal band Denoument (other two members Mel and Thatch made by my good friends @sprudge-monster and @theundiagnosable respectively) which has a small cult-following in Kwikfish Coast's underground culture liberty parties so hard, too hard even, so most of the spines on the left side of his head of just broken down and splintered

similarly fans of Denoument ALSO party hard. its hard to call what they do "moshing" and not "beating the fuck out each other on purpose or not" which leaves extra spines from urchins on the floor of whatever venue they're at. Liberty uses them to decorate his mask with when the old ones inevitably break off (fans like to paint them so they know which spines are theirs)

Yes, pulling a really great shot feels like magic. When Haileigh — our oldest daughter — was a barista at a very snobby coffee shop she’d spend the morning adjusting the grinder. That would result in a half to one pound of coffee being ground just to get it properly set up. Was the espresso great? It certainly was. 🪄

Activision Blizzard’s mandatory return-to-office policy is causing an unnecessary loss of talent, to the point where it could affect development of major titles like World of Warcraft and Diablo 4, according to some Blizzard developers.

Return to office has been a real hot button topic all over the country. Many jobs, like mine, don’t really require me to drive to the office.

Now, having said that, a lot of folks NEED and LOVE the interaction they have in person in an office. Our CEO is a prime example. He believes in person work is the best way to work. That’s all fine and good. Just remember others of us find it distracting, especially in open space offices.

I work in an all remote team at WillowTree but I think about going into the office once in a while for a little human interaction. 😁

One other note. I’d probably find it more tolerable since becoming an Engineering Director because I spend most of my day interacting with other folks. But developer Rob loves quiet and an open floor plan office was horrible for that. I can control my home workspace. At the office I’d have to find a place to hide to do meaningful work as a developer.

I like to tease my JavaScript friends when I get the chance. Most of them own up to the fact it’s a terrible language.😁

It’s the language of the web. No way around it at the moment. Some other thing will come along to replace it. I suppose WebAssembly could eventually be ubiquitous enough to allow us to code in other languages daily but it seems JavaScript is here to stay.

But the coffee has to be exceptional also, and anaerobic geshas seem to be the easy ticket.What caught my eye is that the champion used a pink bourbon. Looking back at the past few years, at least for my tastebuds and skill limitations, I think the best pink bourbons handily beat the best geshas I've made. And while not cheaper, pink bourbons are a third or even much less than the cost of geshas. Recently there was a pink bourbon thread where various members discussed that they felt that pink bourbon's flavors fell of very quickly after the first week or two, and I'd reluctantly agree. these are the first concepts for Harbor the lead singer of a boy band called 4Shore, the main idol band for Kwikfish Coast

i really wanted to try to nail a style the rest of the 4Shore members could follow (other members by good friends @sprudge-monster and @theundiagnosable once again) and the button up/coat/sneakers thing isn't what i ended up landing on in the reference im working on

some things i DID land on was that Kwikfish Coast's native pupils are gradiented, the idol pose resembles what we've seen before but posed differently, and Harbor's hair follows conflicting arcs

4Shore has a LOT of lore that i really want to try to express through visuals but im not entirely sure what i want to do for it yet...

Use a spoon or a chopstick to stir up the bed of coffee, being careful not to tear the paper filter.Īfter 00:30 (30 seconds) has passed, pour another 150-200g of hot water onto the bed, distributing the coffee evenly with the stream of water. Pour about 80g of hot water on the grounds and start the timer. Place your coffee on the scale and tare it. We like making a depression in the bed of the coffee with a spoon to focus the stream of water to saturate all of the coffee. Grind the coffee and place it into the filter. Pour the hot water out of the backside of the Chemex. Pour a good amount of hot water through the filter to both rinse the paper filter and preheat the vessel. Once your water is up to temperature, place the paper filter in the Chemex, with the three-layer side against the spout. Measure out 40g of coffee and get your hot water going. As the water begins to fall, slowly add the rest of the brew water until you reach 640ml at ~3 minutes.Īllow the water to draw down for another minute or so.
