interview with a vampire fic writer

name: rob! but i go by doctors-star or TheGoodDoctor
fandoms: yes. this year, it’s been: far from the madding crowd; historical farm; hornblower; ghosts; father brown; the old guard; the terror. i’ve previously also written for good omens, poirot, yonderland, the hobbit, north and south, and a whole load of other stuff. i have a low attention span.
where you post: ao3
most popular one-shot: l’albatros by cumulative kudos, comments and bookmarks, although by kudos alone it’s mountain which is. a surprise? i hadn’t noticed. probably because l’alb has more than ten times as many comments.
most popular multichap: technically, my father wasn’t around. perils of writing one’s magnum opus for an intended audience of about four.
favourite story you’ve written so far: either stretch out your hand, my captain or the aforementioned magnum opus.
fic you were nervous to post: stretch out your hand, my captain. diary entry for date of publication reads: i respect people in the terror fandom and i fear their reception. what joy.
how you choose your titles: impulsively. they’re often song lyrics or poems for i am tremendously basic.
do you outline: laughably poorly. that’s not entirely fair; i have been known to scribble vague plot points or lines of dialogue, but a lot of the time it looks like “gentlemen i hate to intrude but it is raining seals” and then i have to work out what i had meant by that, and what story i was supposed to hang around it.
complete/in progress: i mostly write one-shots, so i really only post complete.
in the works: well, tis the season; i shall have to write something vaguely nostalgic about going home for christmas, as i have for going on four years now. no concrete plans, however.
prompts: yes please! i may not take them, and they may be entirely unrecognisable by the time i’ve finished, but any and all may send me ideas should they so please.
upcoming work you’re most excited about: i don’t really plan things. rip. excited to find out what it’s going to be!
@silvermagpies tell me about your writing, m’dear
