2023 is here and conference season is upon us. As more businesses continue to use content marketing, social media marketing, and digital marketing to grow their businesses, it’s time to choose which business growth conferences you’ll be attending in 2023.
But first, are business growth conferences the right fit for you and your business? Not necessarily…
Tumblr media
Why should I attend Growth Marketing Conferences?
As I often share, there are three main levers you have to grow your business. Growth marketing conferences are about increasing the Quantity (Q) of qualified leads coming into your business.
If you’re looking to fix other parts of your business – for example with funnel conversion optimization – a business growth conference with a marketing focus may not be the best fit.
Who should attend a Business Growth Conference?
Depending on the size of your business, you may be attending yourself, or you may be sending your Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), your Social Media Marketer, or the team in charge of your brand development, user growth, customer acquisition, or overall business growth.
It all depends on the size of your business – and the focus of the conference.
More on that below.
What happens at a typical growth marketing conference?
Like many industry conferences, you can expect a lineup of guest speakers covering all aspects of growing your business.
Speakers include experts on a range of topics including social media marketing, content marketing, digital marketing, performance marketing, growth hacking, data driven marketing, and email marketing.
You’ll often find vendors on a trade show floor who can help business, for example as expert marketing bloggers, or as a topic specific marketing expert.
Top speakers may be paid keynotes, or even just experts who’ve seen success in their business that are sharing what they’ve learned with attendees like you.
Fortunately for us business owners, the growth marketing stage is full of expert speakers from some of the fastest growing companies sharing their content marketing strategies and growth insights.
2023 Digital Marketing Conferences
With more conferences moving back to in person at long last, attending growth marketing conferences is easier than ever and less virtual than during the pandemic.

Location-Based Businesses: The Importance of Local SEO
One of the most important things that any business owner wants is to make sure that the locals know about their company. To make that possible, location-based SEO, also known as local SEO, is very crucial. Simply put, it’s the process of optimizing your business’s online presence so more people know about you and you can therefore get the attention of customers from local searches.
These searches typically include terms like “near me” or specific city names. For example, if you run a bakery in Mumbai, local SEO helps you appear in search results when someone types “best bakery in Mumbai” or “bakery near me.”
Local SEO is all about making sure your company is visible to people searching for services or products you offer in your specific area. Professionals use various strategies and techniques to ensure their business shows up effectively in local search results, on Google Maps, and in other location-specific online platforms.
By focusing on the best local SEO strategies, you’re essentially putting your company on the map – quite literally – making it easier for potential customers to find you when they need you.
Why Local SEO Matters
Here are a few statistics that will make sure you implement a local SEO strategy for your business –
High Conversion Rates- About 80% of local searches convert, meaning they lead to actions like a phone call, visit, or purchase. This is because people searching locally are often ready to decide or need immediate assistance. By using local SEO services, you make sure your business is front and center when these high-intent searches occur. This increases your chances of converting these searchers into customers.
Consumer Behavior
According to a study done in 2022, a total of 98% of consumers used the Internet to find information about local businesses. The statistics basically highlight how people rely heavily on online searches to guide their choices. If your business isn’t optimized for local search, you’re missing out on a massive audience that’s actively looking for your services.
Direct Contact
60% of users contact businesses directly from local search results, without even visiting the website. Features like Google My Business allow users to call, get directions, or even message a business directly from the search results page. This convenience means that having a well-optimized local search presence can directly drive more leads.
Customer Engagement
Replying to local reviews can increase your submission rates by 12% Engaging with customers by responding to reviews shows that you value their feedback and are committed to improving their experience. Positive interactions in the review section can also build trust and attract new customers who see that your business is responsive and customer-focused.
Building Trust and Credibility
When your business appears in local search results, it can significantly boost your credibility within the community. People tend to trust businesses that show up in the top results because it indicates reliability and relevance. So, when your users see that you constantly appear in local searches, you establish your business as a trustworthy and go-to option for them.
Key Characteristics of Location-Based SEO
Google My Business (GMB)
As already mentioned above, Google My Business is a free tool that allows businesses to manage their online presence across Google, including Search and Maps. A complete and optimized GMB profile is super important for local SEO.
Here are a few strategies to make the best use of your GMB platform –
High-Quality Photos: Upload images that show your products, services, and the ambiance of your business. This makes your profile more appealing to potential customers.
Operating Hours: Keep your business hours up-to-date, including holiday hours, to avoid any customer inconvenience.
Detailed Business Descriptions: Clarity and concision should be your priority. Write a clear and detailed description of your business, including your services, history, and unique selling points.
Customer Reviews: As much as possible, you have to encourage your satisfied customers to leave positive reviews. To do your part in the same, make sure to always respond to reviews as soon as possible.
Local Citations
Local citations are online mentions of your business’s name, address, and phone number (NAP). These can appear in local business directories, websites, and social media platforms.
Here’s how you can optimize your local citations.
Reputable Directories: To maximize the attention to your brand, it’s important that you list your business in reputable local directories such as Yelp, Yellow Pages, and TripAdvisor.
Consistency: This is very important but in order to establish brand recognition, it’s a must that your NAP information is consistent across all listings. Inconsistent information can confuse top search engines as well as your customers and negatively impact the local SEO of your company.
Industry-Specific Listings: As a brownie point, you can get listed in industry-specific directories and local business associations to give a further push to your credibility.
Local Keywords
Using local keywords in your content is another very important task you don’t want to miss out on. These are search terms that include local phrases like your target city or neighborhood. For example, instead of just “plumber,” you might use “plumber in Ahmedabad” or “emergency plumber near Hyde Park.”
Here are some expert keyword strategies that can help you improve your local SEO ranking-
Keyword Research: Use tools like Google Keyword Planner to find local keywords relevant to your business and location. Look for terms that your potential customers are likely to use.
Content Integration: Add these keywords naturally into your website content, blog posts, and social media updates. Avoid too much keyword stuffing, as it can very well even harm the local SEO of your company.
Location Pages: You can create location-specific pages on your website if you serve multiple areas. This helps in targeting customers in different locations with relevant content.
On-Page SEO
On-page SEO is basically the practice of optimizing individual web pages to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic. For local SEO, this includes:
Title Tags and Meta Descriptions: Include local keywords to make it clear to search engines and users where your business is located.
Header Tags (H1, H2, H3): Use these tags to structure your content and highlight important local keywords.
Content: Create high-quality, locally relevant content that provides value to your audience.
Local Backlinks
Backlinks from local websites, blogs, and online publications can significantly boost your local SEO strategy. These links signal to search engines that your business is a trusted authority in your area.
Here are a few steps that will help you earn local backlinks:
Collaborate Locally: You can partner with local businesses, bloggers, and influencers to earn backlinks. This could involve guest blogging, co-hosting events, or local sponsorships.
Local Events: Participate in or sponsor local events and get featured in local news articles or blogs. These mentions often come with valuable backlinks.
Local Media: You can also reach out to local newspapers, magazines, and online publications to get featured in articles or press releases. Positive media coverage can provide high-quality backlinks and increase your visibility.
Get Professional Assistance for Local SEO
Optimizing your brand based on local SEO services can be super overwhelming due to the extensive amount of work involved in each step of the way. Plus, most of these tasks require a lot of time and dedication, which is not possible for one person alone to carry through.
As a best practice, it’s always a great idea to seek the help of a professional marketing agency such as Gyaata Solutions for your brand’s local SEO. Their team of experts can help you shift the entire dynamic of your business ranking and SEO.

The Importance of Search Engines | Liveblack
Tumblr media
SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimisation, is a digital marketing strategy that aims to improve your website’s ranking on Search Engine Result Pages. SEO is an umbrella term that includes SEM (Search Engine Marketing), which gets traffic via paid ads. SEO is Google’s way of deciding which site should be in a higher position based on any keyword or phrase entered.
Is SEO important to businesses? Yes, because without SEO, the search results can be easily manipulated. SEO maintains the fairness of search results so that when internet users find your website at the top of the search engine results, they tend to trust your site, and that’s why SEO is important to businesses.
Understanding the importance of search engines, being in a position where internet users can trust it, and resulting in your site landing at the top spot is what SEO is all about. The higher your position on the results pages, the more traffic and more clicks are the privileges your website will enjoy.
Besides the above facts citing the importance of SEO, there are more reasons your business needs SEO in 2022 and beyond. Here are 9 of those reasons:
1. SEO brings more organic traffic to your website, and organic traffic stays long.
2. SEO builds trust and credibility. Once your website ranks at the top of the search results, people start to trust your brand and may become loyal customers.
3. SEO is the best way to understand what customers want.
4. Good SEO also equates to better user experience (UX), which is a critical element to the success of your website.
5. When you do local SEO, you’ll have increased engagement and traffic conversions. People searching for what they need can find you quickly, putting them closer to a transaction.
6. SEO can improve your ROI (return on investment).
7. SEO is cost-effective. Some large businesses can spend tons of money on paid website traffic. If you have a tight budget to work with, SEO can drive qualified traffic to your business without having to pay directly for it. SEO is not free, but compared to other strategies, it is much cheaper and more effective.
8. SEO can bring more business opportunities for you as you increase your reach.
9. SEO is quantifiable, which means you can measure its results and know whether it is doing well.
There they are — the main reasons why your business needs SEO. Once you start working with it and have a top ranking, remember that you should not be complacent with your position. It would be best if you continued working and doing your best. Why? Because SEO is always changing, your competitors always look for ways to outrank your site.

Digital Marketing, also called online marketing, refers to all marketing efforts on the internet. It has expanded its reach to almost every digital device, mainly computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc.
Every business is going digital, be it a tech giant or a small local business. That’s because everyone is online.
Every advertisement we see today on our phones and PCs when we log on to our favorite sites or surf elsewhere is part of digital marketing. So are the various other forms like content blogs, videos, surveys, etc.

What Changed in Advertising in 2023: Trends for 2024
Tumblr media
2023 was a bumpy ride, for sure. The economy was shaky, customers were careful with their spending, AI was on the rise, and there were lots of rules about privacy and data tracking. It all messed with the marketing game. In this article, we will talk about digital and affiliate marketing trends and its prospects in 2024.
Tumblr media
The shift in ad spend
In 2023, many marketers had an increase in ad spending compared to 2022. Half of the people surveyed by Stacked Marketer were spending the same amount as before, yet many increased their ad budgets by 10–25%.
In particular, spending on physical products increased significantly. This is most likely due to media inflation: advertising prices (placement and production) are rising and competition is increasing.
Tumblr media
Also, keep in mind that this study went down in the last quarter of the year. You know how it is — sales always take off at the end of the year. Christmas and New Year’s roll around, and people are splurging on gifts, grub, and getaways. With a ton of products flooding the market at that time and brands fighting tooth and nail for attention, companies gotta step up their game. So it totally makes sense that advertising costs would spike during that period.
Which channels and sources emerged as favorites?
According to the same research, the advertising dominance of Meta and Google continues, with a significant majority of advertisers continuing to allocate their budgets to these platforms.
Notably, TikTok is losing ground to LinkedIn, which has recently introduced new ad features and algorithm updates.
Tumblr media
Influencer marketing is also worth highlighting — this is a really notable trend of the previous year and is likely to intensify in 2024. Our internal research shows that Influencer marketing is especially booming in the iGaming niche.
And since we started talking about niches, let’s point out the most popular traffic sources for different affiliate marketing niches in 2023:
E-commerce: Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, BIGO Ads
iGaming: Facebook, Google Ads, Google UAC, ASO, SEO
Mobile gaming: Facebook, Mintegral, BIGO Ads, SEO
Tips: • Test the local traffic sources of the GEOs you’re working with. Very often they give good results and are a valuable addition to traditional platforms, and sometimes even a good alternative.  • Don’t spread yourself across different sources, choose one and invest your efforts and resources there. • As for SEO, buy domains and links today, in a year or two the current prices will seem like pennies.
Tumblr media
The current landscape of AI in marketing
It looks like the year ended just like it started — all about artificial intelligence. And now it seems like most marketers are onboard with AI, with 36% saying they use it in their daily marketing. Digital product advertisers are really into AI, with 42.3% using it every day, while physical product marketers are the least interested, with 12.3% saying they never use it. That’s astounding because there seem to be so many ways of using AI in e-commerce. Probably, the situation will change in 2024.
Tumblr media
Tip: Master AI writing tools — it will save you a lot of budget.
What to expect in 2024?
The advertising scene in early 2024 can be said to be shaped by the challenges and trends of the previous year.
Meta and Google continue to dominate as the preferred advertising platforms.
Influencer marketing has become a notable trend.
The use of artificial intelligence in marketing is gaining momentum and a significant portion of marketers are incorporating it into their daily strategies.
Regulation and compliance will continue to be a top priority for brands and affiliates alike. Brands will be looking to work with affiliates who are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to data privacy, gambling, and financial services. Affiliates will need to be aware of the latest regulations in their target markets and make sure they are in compliance.
The growing importance of mobile traffic will continue to drive affiliate marketing trends. More and more people are using their mobile devices to shop, play games, and engage with content. Affiliates who focus on mobile will be well-positioned for success.
Nutra and e-commerce
Growth in emerging markets will continue to drive affiliate marketing in these niches. Brands and affiliates will be looking to tap into the growing markets in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
The rise of influencer marketing will continue to be a major trend in these niches. Brands and affiliates will be looking to work with influencers who can reach and engage with their target audiences.
iGaming
The legalization of iGaming in more countries will create new opportunities for affiliates. Brands and affiliates will be looking to expand into new markets.
The growing use of AI will be a major trend in this niche. AI can be used to automate tasks, personalize campaigns, and improve targeting.
Payment systems
The growing popularity of cryptocurrency will create new opportunities for affiliates. Brands and affiliates will be looking to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method.
The rise of mobile payments will continue to be a major trend in this niche. More and more people are using their mobile devices to make payments.
Mobile apps
The growing popularity of iOS will continue to be a major trend in this niche. More and more people are using iOS devices.
The rise of PWA will continue to be a major trend in this niche. PWA apps offer a better user experience than traditional mobile apps.
Going forward, marketers need to constantly update their technical knowledge and carefully select traffic sources by looking at local options and investing efforts in a targeted manner.
Best of luck with your marketing endeavors.

Recent Ecommerce News (Including Etsy), October 2023
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome to my new format for ecommerce business news updates! Instead of jamming everything in one long report, I am now going to divide them up into 1) ecommerce site news, including:
Etsy news
all other marketplaces and website builders
payment processing
shipping
and 2) a SEO & online business news update, including:
social media
general SEO
content marketing
ads & stats
consumer trends & psychology,
graphic design tools (images, video etc.)
The new plan is to release the ecommerce one more frequently, and to do less frequent updates on SEO etc.
Remember, if you want to get more regular updates on these topics - especially Etsy - please follow me on Twitter, on LinkedIn, or on Bluesky. I also post major updates on Reddit.
Please let me know what you think of these changes!
TOP NEWS & ARTICLES
Etsy has removed “Other” as a shipping carrier option for US and UK shops. I covered the basics in a short post, but the bottom line is, if you use a service Etsy doesn’t offer in the shipping option menu, you need to choose the one closest to it in delivery times. Buyers do not see the service used; you can still name it whatever you want for selections in the cart if it is an upgrade. The workaround is useless, of course, in the many cases where Etsy doesn’t offer any options that are close to true shipping times.
This change, coupled with Etsy’s recent policy clarification that items that arrive after the latest estimated delivery date are eligible for purchase protection refunds, means that anyone shipping without tracking/Etsy Labels, or orders over $250 (or $500 USD from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31) is at risk of having to issue a full refund because Etsy does not provide realistic shipping times when listings are set up. Etsy is even promising buyers this upfront now; see my forum thread for more details. Etsy always claims they will update carriers for major delays, as they are doing again this year, but sellers rarely see evidence of that. On that note, per that last link, Etsy is also promising to “...amplify items with faster delivery options and items expected to arrive by the holidays to shoppers in December more than we usually do.” Note that does not necessarily mean they will add more localization to searches, as they stress shorter processing times, ready-to-ship items, and shipping upgrades as ways to be ready for those Etsy changes.
The UK is the latest jurisdiction cracking down on online tax cheats, by asking various online platforms to report seller income to the government. “If you make more than £1,000 alongside your regular job in the tax year then you need to register yourself as self-employed and report your income to HMRC. You then have to pay tax on this income.” This may also catch people who didn’t declare money earned before 2022.
Numerous shipping companies are not providing service to Israel and the Gaza Strip currently, and eBay is not allowing sales from the US to Israel. That link is being updated as new announcements are made.
ETSY NEWS
As mentioned above, Etsy’s Seller protection threshold will be raised to $500 from $250, from November 1 to December 31 only.
Support told a UK seller they will be able to opt out of Etsy’s Offsite Ads as of February 2024, due to the Digital Services Act. Don’t forget that shops in the EU as well as Switzerland can opt out now, but you do have to contact Etsy to do that. Note that some EU sellers are struggling to get Etsy to acknowledge the right to opt out now, with some Support staff stating it does not kick in until February 2024. Is Etsy’s legal department really that disorganized? Maybe I should come out of retirement…
Etsy says it has changed how it deals with automated flags of possible violations of its handmade policy. Listings will be deindexed instead of deactivated, and Etsy claims that anything that doesn’t get reviewed by human staff on Etsy by the 48 hour mark will be reindexed. I wrote a bit more about this on LinkedIn. Sadly, we aren’t seeing evidence of this new system yet, with plenty of lengthy handmade takedowns continuing.
Any changes to handmade flagging aren’t stopping the usual “bought drop-shipped garbage on Etsy by accident” news articles, though. Also, USB sticks of pirated movies are also a big “handmade” item now.
I covered Etsy’s new Share & Save program on my blog; it’s not horrible, but is also not worth changing your business plan for. Modern Retail referred to it as “...ask[ing] Etsy sellers to be their own affiliates." [soft paywall]
Etsy Payments - the marketplace's internal payment processor - is now available in Thailand & Ukraine; it will be coming soon to Japan, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and India. This means new shops can open in those countries, since Etsy currently does restrict new shops to countries with Etsy Payments (except for India). This is also a new source of income for the corporation, since Etsy Payments will be mandatory in these countries in 2024. Note that some of the new countries will require a Payoneer account, which has an annual fee in some countries if the business does not meet a minimum threshold.
If you are in Canada and have been asked to provide Etsy with your Social Insurance Number, this is due to the INFORM Act, and affects sellers grossing at least $5000 in US sales a year who do not already have a GST/HST ID number submitted to Etsy. I covered this topic with citations on LinkedIn.
There is a new Etsy gift receipt that includes a QR code for the shop, but unfortunately it doesn’t include the names of the recipient or buyer. I’m not joking. They say they are working on it, though! Because no one could have predicted that gift notes should have the name of the giver and receiver on them, am I right?
As promised in previous quarterly reports, Etsy has released a beta version of a price optimization tool. Here's what it looks like:
Tumblr media
Thanks to Emily of EveryDayDabble for this screenshot.
For most shops, they will see very few listings analyzed at the moment, and sadly, it’s just as bad as the last time they did this many years ago. (Mine compares sterling silver to silver plate, for example, and also compares two very different types of clip-on earring attachments.) Currently not ready for prime time. Etsy forum discussion for your entertainment.
The third quarter results get released on November 1. I will post my coverage on Tumblr a few days afterwards.
Etsy has finally done something useful to stem the spate of scammers and hackers using Etsy Messages: a note explaining some scam elements, linking to a new Help file on the topic.
Tumblr media
There is also a forum discussion thread with confirmation from Etsy staff. Even better, they now have a special section in Etsy Messages for contact from Etsy staff, and a “From Etsy” badge on those messages.
Tumblr media
Sellers outside of the US report that the domestic pricing tool is broken, ever since Etsy introduced the “new” (and incomplete) listing experience earlier this year. Some report that switching back to the old listing page does not solve the problem. This means that anyone trying to add domestic tax to their domestic prices may be forced to pay that tax out of their pockets instead of having it covered by the tool. Etsy is so unconcerned about this issue that is stealing money from shop owners that forum mods are just closing threads without even commenting.
The Etsy Holiday Trend report says baking is still in, as is having a dinner party. “...[T]here has been a staggering 28,277% increase in searches for zodiac tea towels, a 5,980% increase in searches for natural linen placemats, and a 4,109% increase in searches for handmade barware or glassware.” Travel items are also up.
Etsy’s holiday cyber sale runs for 5 weeks this year, and they are asking for discounts of at least 25% off. Since regular sales can only run for 30 days on Etsy, they provide a link to set up this special event for the correct number of days. If you use Share and Save (see blog post link above) and run a Cyber Sale using the sale link above, and use the seller app and approved image to post your sale on social media, Etsy is entering you into a draw for $40 worth of listing credits. [That’s a lot of hoops to jump through for $40, all to make less money per sale, promote Etsy, and let them track you through the seller app.]
Use the hashtag #FestiveEtsyFinds on Instagram if you want a chance to be featured on Etsy’s feed.
If you had recent issues with listing edits not saving while using the seller app, you may need to update to a newer version to fix the issue.
I’ve seen some folks insisting that Etsy doesn’t use images for search ranking. If that were true, Etsy Ads certainly would not be showing irrelevant tags that are based solely on the photo, right?
Etsy Labels for (domestic) Royal Mail now come with a QR code, so you can print at the post office instead of at home.
ECOMMERCE NEWS, IDEAS, TRENDS (minus social media)
General
Shein has partnered with Forever 21, likely as a way for the ecommerce site to grow in the United States. Forever 21 clothing will be available on Shein, and the opposite - Shein products in brick and mortar stores - is also possible. Shein opened a third-party marketplace catering to the US last month.
Goodwill is still struggling to compete in the ecommerce sector of used and vintage goods. [NYTimes gift link; no paywall]
It is interesting to look at the top ecommerce sites by traffic worldwide, but remember that data like this comes from estimates based on tracking some people’s browsing habits. Only the sites themselves know what their real traffic is.
Amazon
The big US lawsuit against Amazon was finally filed in late September. [Washington Post gift link; no paywall] “Fees, requirements and incentives let Amazon collect one out of every two dollars a seller makes on the platform, effectively resulting in a “50 percent Amazon tax,” Khan said. The FTC argues those costs are then passed onto shoppers.”
If you sell on Amazon Handmade, check your handling times, as Amazon is switching them to shorter times in some cases.
Amazon Warehousing Distribution is now available to businesses for shipping beyond individual customers. The new offering is called Multi-Channel Distribution.
The holiday return deadline for Amazon purchases made between November 1 and December 31 is January 31, 2024.
India Post and Indian Railways both have new agreements with Amazon intended to improve shipping options in the country.
South Africa is the latest country with its own Amazon site.
Look out for a big change in US search in January, as Amazon adds a generative AI tool. “Amazon’s new generative AI tool will be developed using human AI trainers, who will continuously review the quality of answers the bot provides. Additionally, the tool will have access to proprietary shopping data sourced from Amazon’s extensive product catalog, complemented by user behavior data, and purchase and review information.” [Some of what staff said at a company-wide meeting echoed Etsy CEO Josh Silverman comparing keyword search with a more immersive experience that compares to shopping through an experienced sales clerk.]
eBay
eBay sellers who ship to the EU will have to display their addresses and other contact information to EU buyers starting in early 2024, to comply with the Digital Services Act. We should expect a lot more announcements in this area over the next few months, as platforms scramble to comply.
eBay is testing a new tool that supposedly creates entire listings from just one photo, through AI. It’s only on the iOS app so far, but Android is in the works. The author tried out the earlier, simpler version, and didn’t think it offered much.
Very affordable Canada Post tracked packages within Canada are now available to eBay sellers in all categories, for parcels up to 200g.
Scammers are inserting fake listings on eBay that tell customers to click links to purchase. Even if the links do not lead to malware or phishing schemes, directing sales offsite is not allowed. Worse, the scammers are buying top-placed ads to get seen.
eBay has now extended their presale ship-by date to 40 days from 30. “Even with the extended time period, presales will likely continue to be a point of contention between buyers and sellers as many listings fail to meet all three requirements of the policy and eBay is still lax in enforcing the policy or removing listings that are not in compliance.”
Here are the highlights of the Fall 2023 Seller Update.
Poshmark
Poshmark is closing in India, Australia & the UK, to focus on the site in the US and Canada. The last day is October 25th.
Poshmark is following eBay in the “AI creates a listing for you” category.
Shopify
All Shopify websites in the US can now offer Amazon’s “Buy with Prime”, which “...enables merchants who use Amazon’s payment and fulfillment services to include Amazon’s checkout service and speedy shipping guarantees on items sold from their own sites.” The rollout should have been completed by the end of September.
Like most website builders, Shopify is sometimes criticized for poor SEO, but there are ways to improve your site if you really want to.
Walmart
Walmart held a “summit” for third-party marketplace sellers in Las Vegas, and wants more businesses to join.
The Walmart extended holiday return period began October 1; anything purchased from now until the end of December can be returned until January 31, 2024.
All Other Marketplaces
The Artisans Cooperative marketplace is in its final beta stage, with products from coop members now available for sale. The platform, which came together out of a sub-group involved in the “Etsy Strike” last year, will fully open with shops from non-members added very soon; there is a waitlist if you are interested.
Faire has entered a deal with Shopify that makes Faire the recommended wholesale company for the website builder, and Shopify’s payment option will now be the recommended option on Faire. Shopify also gets some Faire shares in the deal.
Mercari is also testing out a quick listing tool. All sellers need is a photo, title, and price, unless you want to add more. [Given how poorly machine learning and image recognition sometimes work, you will probably want to add more or correct some things, at least for the time being.]
Etsy-owned Depop says free shipping isn’t as big of a plus as it used to be, and offering it isn’t an option with Depop’s shipping labels, which are compulsory for Depop seller protection.
All Other Website Builders
GoDaddy has integrated Paze with both its Stores and Payments, but only to a few businesses at the moment as they test it out. Paze is a digital wallet.
Payment Processing
Buy now pay later company Klarna is moving into more shopping options, with an image recognition tool to be used in its shopping app.
Shipping
Royal Mail hiked prices as of October 2.
Many parcel companies have already released their holiday shipping deadlines:
USPS
Canada Post
Royal Mail
FedEx US (but includes international destinations)
If you ship into Germany and need a packaging permit for 2024, this Etsy thread explains how to get a discount.

In a world where customer loyalty is hard-earned and not always guaranteed, it’s no wonder that 97% of consumers rely on online reviews to make their decision about whom they will buy from. A study by the consulting firm Deloitte found out just how important this data has become for travelers, too: 95 percent read hotel/accommodations’ ratings before booking!
02POSITIVE REVIEWS
According to statistics, a reputation manager is necessary for any company vying for customers’ trust. It’s no longer enough that your products be high quality; they also need honest feedback from satisfied users who have tried them firsthand not to leave prospects in suspense when finding out what kind of service or product you offer.
03BOOST SEO
SEO reputation management is an intelligent way to create awareness about your brand, amplify customer voices online and boost search rankings. According to Moz, 15% of Google’s local pack ranking factors come from online reviews, including the number one factor, which is user-generated content (UGC).
04IMPROVE
With web reputation management, you can protect your brand image and drum up new business. A Spiegel Research Center study found that online reviews increase conversions by 270%. Moreover-business reviews boost conversion rates for higher-priced products with a range of 380%! With search engine spam protection in place, it is also possible to build better relationships with prospects while maximizing interaction channels to become paying customers.
05BUILD CREDIBILITY
Building a great connection between your work and the people, its servicing means taking care of their needs. That starts with trust, which in turn breeds positive reviews from happy customers online through ORM strategies like authenticating consumers who leave feedback on social media platforms or providing them professional reputation management services
06REMOVE NEGATIVE
Negative reviews are not suitable for your business and can harm the reputation of your business. It is one reason behind poor search engine rankings, and it’s time to make sure that you’re on top with a solid online marketing strategy for people across all demographics to see what they’ll get if they invest their money here!

ATTRACT HIGH-INTENT PROSPECTS
In a world where customer loyalty is hard-earned and not always guaranteed, it’s no wonder that 97% of consumers rely on online reviews to make their decision about whom they will buy from. A study by the consulting firm Deloitte found out just how important this data has become for travelers, too: 95 percent read hotel/accommodations’ ratings before booking! To stay ahead in today’s competitive market with your business or product offerings, you need an active Internet reputation management plan that includes monitoring all platforms
GENERATE POSITIVE REVIEWS
According to statistics, a reputation manager is necessary for any company vying for customers’ trust. It’s no longer enough that your products be high quality; they also need honest feedback from satisfied users who have tried them firsthand not to leave prospects in suspense when finding out what kind of service or product you offer. With over 5 million businesses now utilizing online review sites like Yelp! there has never been an easier time generating authentic testimonials than right this second – all thanks again to those tireless individuals whose hard work goes unnoticed by many because, without verified customer reviews, nothing would matter.

Developing your Social Media Ads

Why Your Business Needs SEO | Liveblack
Tumblr media
SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimisation, is a digital marketing strategy that aims to improve your website's ranking on Search Engine Result Pages.
There they are - the main reasons why your business needs SEO. Once you start working with it and have a top ranking, remember that you should not be complacent with your position. It would be best if you continued working and doing your best. Why? Because SEO is always changing, your competitors always look for ways to outrank your site.

10 Things Every Business Owners Should Know in 2022
Tumblr media
As a Digital marketing company owner, I realized many of the business owners thinks, It’s hard enough to keep up with running your business, let alone the best ways to market it. I’m writing this post to help business owners informed and on top of what’s important for your business’s growth and success. im not gonna say its gonna be easy, it requires you to do some work. let’s dive in.
1. Your UVP
Your unique value proposition is what sets you apart from your competitors. It’s the thing(s) you do to help your customers in ways that your competitors don’t (or can’t). Every successful business has a UVP, whether they’ve articulated it or not. If you don’t know your business’s unique value proposition, you need to; and then you need to incorporate it into your content and messaging.
2. Work on Local SEO
Search engines have radically improved their understanding of locality, and having your business correctly identified and optimized for local search is crucial for attracting the right customers. This means optimizing your website with your location in mind, getting your business listings in local directories set up, and tagging your location in your social media posts. If you don’t have a website get one today, you don’t know what are you losing. dominate google now.
3. The Importance of Google My Business
I noticed, most of the business owners not aware of this, The Google My Business platform is having an ever-growing impact on how local customers find businesses. Getting your Google My Business profile created and populated is a minimal time investment with a major return.
For more help with Google My Business, head to our GMB Knowledge Center with free help and how-to articles.
4. Who Your Competitors Are
It is not about focusing on business growth, a business owner should pay attention to their competitors too. It’s important to know your competitors so you can keep tabs on them, and identify gaps that you can fill in
6. What Your Metrics Are
It’s important to identify what success looks like for your business, which might be organic traffic, the conversion rate on your ads, email open rate, monthly revenue, or inventory growth. Whatever your important metrics are, knowing them gives you a baseline so that you can see how well you’re progressing and where you need to improve your performance. 7. Collect Your Reviews
Word of mouth has and always will be the most highly-prized method of getting your business in front of more customers. In addition to the traditional person-to-person form, online reviews are now a major component of the word about your business. Being proactive with collecting positive reviews for your business is one key to building your credibility with potential customers.
8. Email Still Works
Good old fashioned email marketing still works. It’s still effective, it’s still cheap, it’s still the way for you to convey huge amounts of information to your leads and prospects without taxing your resources or annoying your targets. I still recieving questions like does email marketing still works? yes, it still works
9. Your Niche
Your business has a niche. It is better to be great at one thing than it is to be mediocre at many things. Everyone can get mediocre just about anyplace they turn. Mediocre isn’t competitive. It’s great that’s hard to find. Find your niche and be great in it. Get a consultant if you can’t find one for yours.
10. The Power of Simple Content
Content is crucial for marketing, but you don’t have to be the world’s greatest writer to be successful. let me be honest I’m not good at writing, I leverage my writing with some of the Google tools like Grammarly. Marketing is about connection, it’s about you are telling a story to your audience. Write and create as if you are just talking with your audience in a regular personal conversation. Employ their language, convey simple and digestible information, and express your brand and thoights message in relatable ways.
