here are some sentences that i thought about earlier as part of an interlude for the ws robin fic and now i can't stop thinking about:

The necklace weighs on her. A burden. Her sins weighing her down, dragging behind her. A reminder of what she did—what they made her do—burning into her skin. Nancy’s own personal cross to bear. It had been a gift, all those years ago. Barb had given it to her because between the two of them, Nancy had always been the better ballerina. Poised and graceful, movements precise and sharp. She can’t take it off either—can’t get rid of it. Getting rid of it means getting rid of Barb, and she can’t do that. Nancy can’t lose her again. Not if she can help it.
