We Are Family, Chapter 22: Lunchtime

By the time Yuto was pulling the taco casserole out of the oven, Yugo and Zarc had also come into the kitchen eager for lunch. Yugo licked his lips excitedly, drooling a little as he watched Yuto place the casserole dish on the table. “Is it ready?” he asked eagerly.

“Yep, it’s ready! Go wash up and we can eat!” Yuto told him. Yugo practically ran upstairs to wash his hands.

“Oh, that smells so good!” Yuya said, sliding down the firepole. Yuto could hear his stomach growling from where he was and smiled. “C’mon, Yuya! Come eat some lunch!”

Yuya squealed as he sat down, holding his plate for Yuto to serve the taco casserole. Yuto placed a nice big heaping scoop of it on Yuya’s plate, smiling at him. “I hope you like it!”

“I’m sure I will!” Yuya said happily. “Your cooking is always delicious!”

His brothers all gathered at the table, ready to eat. As they dug into the food, the only sound the could be heard was the crunching of chips and the happy sounds of very satisfied diners.

“Mm, this is pretty good, Yuto!” Zarc praised his brother’s cooking. “You should be very proud of yourself!”

“Yeah, it’s so good!” Yugo agreed. Yuya was too busy stuffing his mouth with taco casserole to say anything, but he didn’t really need to. And though Yuri said nothing, it was obvious that he too was enjoying his meal.

Yuto beamed with pride. He loved cooking lunch for his brothers! Having well-fed and well-cared for loved ones was important to him, and knowing that his cooking was the source of their happiness made him feel really good.

My brain has been connecting some dots

My honest reaction upon reading the panel on the left.

The whole Iruma and Ali connection to Delkira plotline has been giving me serious Yugioh Arc V vibes. Ali also very heavily reminds me of Ai from Yugioh Vrains. Which is…interesting(I’m absolutely terrified for Iruma).

Enchanted, Chapter 17: A Fluffy Boy!

As they were finishing up in the garden, Yuya heard a soft sound behind him. Turning, he saw a cute little fluffy creature prowling around, watching him. He squealed in excitement, “Yuri! Yuri look! It’s a puppy!”

“Uh, Yuya, that’s not a puppy,” Yuto said, noticing the creature. “That’s a fox.”

“A fluffy boy!” Yuya squealed, petting the fox. Said fox rolled over to let the tomato-head rub its belly.

“Nuh-uh! No way! Go away fox!” Yuri said angrily. “I won’t have you stealing my fruits and veggies!”

“Don’t worry, Yuri,” Zarc reassured him. “My protection spells won’t let any foxes steal from your garden.” Yuri looked unconvinced, glaring at the fox.

“Yuri, just look at him!” Yuya said, looking up at Yuri with wide puppy eyes. “He’s so cute! And fluffy! We gotta keep him!”

The fluffy fox began making a sound that sounded like laughter, and Yuri scowled. “No, Yuya, no foxes allowed!” he said, before making the fatal mistake of looking at Yuya. Yuya’s puppy eyes were his undoing. He looked too cute and sad for Yuri’s stone heart to handle. “Oh… oh no… Yuya, don’t…”

Yuya continued to give Yuri his puppy eyes, much to the cabbage-head’s dismay. He couldn’t say no to that face. Though he attempted to resist, in the end, the puppy eyes won. “Okay, fine, you can keep him, but he better not cause any trouble!”

“Yay!” Yuya hugged Yuri tightly. “Thank you, Yuri!”
