Introduction
What is it about Italian pasta that makes it so comforting and satisfying? It's that one dish that will fill your heart with warmth and delight. At Singh Pizza & Pasta, located in the heart of Astoria, we have perfected the art of Italian pasta, bringing authentic flavors that transport you straight to Italy. But what makes our pasta different? Here, we uncover the secrets behind crafting the perfect Italian pasta and why our Pizza in Astoria and Pasta in Astoria have become local favorites.
1. What Makes Italian Pasta Perfect?
The essence of Italian pasta is simplicity. Perfect pasta is not just about tossing noodles around with a sauce, but more so about blending harmonies of ingredients, technique, and tradition. Singh Pizza & Pasta have delved deep into the roots of Italian culinary practices to ensure every dish is as authentic as it is in terms of flavor.
Italian pasta is about balance: the right texture, perfect amount of sauce, and flavors that complement rather than overwhelm. From al dente perfection to bold and fresh sauces, we celebrate the very essence in every ingredient.
2. Fresh Ingredients: The Foundation of Authentic Pasta
Singh Pizza & Pasta knows that quality starts from the source of ingredients. Italian cuisine relies much on the natural flavors of its components, and pasta is no exception. Here's how we bring the best of Italy to Astoria:
Durum Wheat Pasta We source the best pasta made from durum wheat, known for its firm texture and ability to hold the sauce well. This means every bite will deliver that authentic al dente experience.
Locally Sourced Vegetables We use fresh, locally sourced vegetables for our pasta dishes, from crisp zucchini to ripe tomatoes. These ingredients do not only boost flavor but also nutritional value.
Premium Sauces We prepare our sauces in house, using proper, old-fashioned recipes with the finest ingredients available to include extra virgin olive oil, fresh herbs, and ripe tomatoes. This is what makes our Pasta in Astoria different.
3. The Secret Sauce: Why It's All About Flavor
The soul of Italian pasta lies in its sauce. A good sauce doesnât just coat the pasta; it elevates it. At Singh Pizza & Pasta, weâve perfected our sauces to complement each pasta type. Hereâs a sneak peek into some of our favorites:
Marinara Sauce A timeless classic, our marinara sauce is a rich blend of tomatoes, garlic, and basil. Itâs the perfect pairing for spaghetti or penne.
Alfredo Sauce Creamy, velvety, and indulgent, our Alfredo sauce combines butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese to create a luxurious experience.
Pesto Sauce Fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan come together in this vibrant green sauce that's ideal for fettuccine or linguine.
These sauces are made fresh daily, ensuring every dish has that signature Singh Pizza & Pasta touch.
4. Mastering the Pasta Cooking Technique
Cooking pasta is an art. Singh Pizza & Pasta takes care about it. It really does take a little bit of skill to get the texture just right, and here is what we do:
Al Dente Perfection The term "al dente" means "to the tooth" in Italian, referring to the fact that pasta is firm enough to bite into yet remains tender. We make sure every batch is spot on.
Salted Water We boil pasta in salted sea-seasoned water. It's such a simple step but it infuses the pasta with flavor before it hits the sauce.
Sauce Inclusion After boiling, pasta is mixed with sauce over heat to let all the flavors blend together beautifully. It's a harmonious dish where every single bite has flavor.
These little things make all the difference when making the Best Pasta in Astoria.
5. Pairing Pizza and Pasta: A Match Made in Heaven
Why choose between pizza and pasta when you can have both? At Singh Pizza & Pasta, we have come up with a menu that celebrates the best of Italian cuisine. Our pizza and pasta pairings are a culinary experience that Astoria locals rave about.
Classic Margherita with Spaghetti Pomodoro A classic Margherita pizza with the tangy tomato base and creamy mozzarella goes really well with the simple yet full-of-flavor Spaghetti Pomodoro.
Pepperoni Pizza with Alfredo Penne The bold, spicy flavors of pepperoni go well with the creamy richness of Alfredo Penne, balancing both flavors perfectly.

How To Wear I Mist You Fragrance Mist
Application Tips for Perfume:
Directly to Skin: Perfume is artfully designed to interact with your body's unique chemistry and warmth. The longevity of the scent on your skin depends on both the perfume itself and your skin type. Embrace the individuality of your fragrance experience.
Focus on Pulse Points: Pulse points are your secret allies when it comes to making your fragrance last. While the wrists and neck are the classic choices, there are numerous lesser-known pulse points you can explore to intensify and extend the fragrance's impact. Remember, if you apply perfume to a spot and love the results, there's no harm in doing it again. It's all about personal preference.
Avoid Rubbing: It's best to resist the urge to rub your wrists together after applying perfume. Allow the fragrance to naturally dry down. This preserves the integrity of the fragrance by preventing the crushing of its top notes. By letting the layers of the fragrance unfold naturally, you ensure that each component plays its unique role in the aromatic composition.
By following these simple guidelines, you can make the most of your perfume and ensure it complements your individual style and personality. Embrace the art of fragrance application, and let your scent be an extension of your unique self.

Diary 7.22.87
Success at last! We have, apparently, been Enlightened.
After last nightâs frustration regarding Pelajianâs Riddle, we did what we should have done at the outset, and consulted Dorian - who has after all made extensive study of the problem. He has proven to be quite a pleasant fellow, once he dropped his air of pretentious mystery to fully concentrate on a problem of interest. Dorian is a historian (ha!) whose primary interest is in the foundations of the College and Pelajian himself, the greatest of their masters. He does not share Simeonâs belief that Vendigroth ought to be destroyed; rather, he told me, it was precisely towards the preservation of that mighty ruin that his order was established in the first place.
Pelajian himself is practically a figure out of Legend. His origins are mysterious, except that he came from the far West. His end is equally so - he headed off into the desert one day and never returned, save in the apparition whose wisdom now we sought. That wisdom, Dorian told us, lay in walking the path to Enlightenment, which lay within four sealed rooms, and that path is the pursuit of Truth, which opens all doors.
And all of that so perfectly matches the accounts of Saint Mannox, particularly that last, that I have to wonder⊠our new friends claimed no knowledge of such a possibility, and the apparition seemed to have all of its fingers intact, but it seems too great a coincidence to overlook. And it was, as I had suspected, waiting specifically for us.
The puzzle itself turned out to be a simple matter of activating the glyphs in the floor in the appropriate order. Dyna had been on the right track all along, recognizing that they must logically be switches of some kind; our mistake was in overcomplicating the activation process, and in failing to recognize that there were subordinate goals. Once we were able to compare notes with Dorian, it was the work of a mere morning to open all doors, as it were, and retrieve the tomes hidden within. Even I got one, proving that the nature of the seeker made no difference to the thing sought, but Dyna opted to be a mere observer nonetheless, due to her Allergy (and, in all likelihood, general discomforture). Each tome outlined the guiding principles of the four colleges it represented, and with them was an intricate amulet, which I correctly surmised would activate the 5th and final central glyph - the three-horned wheel corresponding to Pelajianâs ânew college.â
We then had but to await the midnight hour and the return of Pelajianâs apparition. I believe Dyna and Norman spent the time outside the walls trying to escape the magickal aura of the place, whi l e Straf and Wolf sought to educate themselves, after a fashion. Zan and I accompanied them to their meeting with the Master of the College of Nature, a halfling named Ferko Lydell, who is my new favorite wizard. He keeps tigers! Lions and tigers, and fascinating hybrids - ligers and tigrons and other weird and wonderful combinations. He even let me feed the kittens! I have seen many awesome sights in my travels, but seldom have I had such a wholly delightful experience as being affectionately licked by a tigron cub practically the size of Dyna. And there must have been a dozen or more of them, all playful and clearly well loved.
The purpose of Wolfâs visit was to get herself tested for Grandmaster status in the college. It was a three part test of which only part 2, the oral component, held any kind of interest. Lydell put forth the fascinating question: whst is the role of Technology with respect to the Natural Order - is it a threat or a benefit? This question, unsurprisingly, Wolf failed utterly to answer in any kind of meaningful way whatsoever, but did eventually stumble into the desired response: that technology represents no threat because magick is Just Better. How disappointingly self-serving! Lydellâs perspective though was an interesting one: Nature is superior in that it produces Life, which is one thing technology cannot achieve (although I suspect Norman would take issue with this point). All our static artifice decay in time, but Nature continues to flourish, and in a direct contest must prove the ultimate victor.
I take issue, I think, with his premise, which equates magick and nature. Magick, for him, is the natural result and byproduct of Life, and therefore primary. I disagree. The natural world is an emulsion of magick and technology, privileging neither one nor the other. The separation we experienced at Blackroot - the failure of this emulsion - seems proof enough of that! Magick is as much an artifice as is technology, and, like technology, one as readily applied to destruction as creation. But being artifice is no condemnation, whatever Lydell would say. His exploits here, as well as any act of cultivation, is at its root the application of artifice to nature - and nature is the better for it. You need not hate the wilderness to love a garden - or vice versa. That is the proper role of technology with respect to the Natural Order.
There is nevertheless a lesson in what he said, and one I in particular would perhaps do well to heed: that true immortality is achieved not by the avoidance of death, but by the propagation of life. That which cannot or will not grow must ultimately crumble. It is something to think on.
Be that as it may, Wolf managed at last to pass her trials, and was awarded the title of Grandmaster, thereby casting serious doubt in the legitimacy of the institution⊠once I had repaired his missing hand, Straf headed off to similarly importune the Master of the College of Force, and I passed a remarkably pleasant afternoon with Dorian, discussing Vendigroth and its works, both those we have already encountered and those we are likely to meet when we arrive. I find I like him more and more, and his aloof mysteriousness has fallen away to reveal a dedicated curiosity about the world around us. He offered to show me Pelajianâs writings when we returned, and I did not have the heart to tell him that we would not.
At the stroke of midnight precisely, the specter appeared in the pool. We took our positions - Straf, Wolf, Joachim, Zan and I, for Dyna was still unwilling to involve herself directly in anything so magickal - and the large glyphs activated just as the smaller ones had in the morning. Pelajian spoke - or rather, his messenger did, for one of the things it revealed to us is that it was not a ghost at all, but an apparition conjured by the Master for the express purpose of opening Vendigroth to those who would seek it in the appointed time. Which it did. It is remotely possible, although the time depth renders it unlikely, that Pelajian is not in fact dead, since the presence of the apparition was Tullaâs only news of his passing. Or perhaps Pelajian is such that his own spirit may no more be conjured than that of Saint MannoxâŠ
The apparitionâs news was not all hopeful. Our enemy has beaten us to lost Vendigroth, and the City of Blood and Sorrow (an ominous name, to be sure) groans with their presence. We depart immediately - as soon as the mages of Tulla cam be assembled to convey us thither.
The closer we draw, though, the more I worry about the object of our quest. We have been consistently warned against the Device, most recently by tonightâs apparition - it is, by all accounts, an object of utmost Evil. Even to turn it against its maker seems perhaps a step too extreme, and the specter warned that such an act would have consequences for the wielder as well as the target. But what is the alernative? Reality itself Iâd coming unraveled around us. Must we too become fanatics for the greater good? And what evils might we unleash in so doing? I fear most especially for Virgil. I would not have imagined it possible to wrong him further, but Simeon Torâs analysis puts him, or at least his Aspects, at the center if this dilemma. He has already been so cruelly used. To use him thusly as wellâŠ
We may yet find some alternative and be spared the choice. I hope so. In the meantime, Vendigroth awaits, and we have already tarried overlong.

Note: A unique lamp is a great addition to any bedroom, really, whether kidâs, guest, or master. One decorating tip with lamps is to choose a single focus â if the lamp shade is printed or bold, go with a simple lamp base, and vice versa.
Give accessible items a tasteful ârestingâ spot.
Easy access to books in a basket gives your child an opportunity to read in bed and also an opportunity to clean up after him/herself easily. This corner bedroom is a perfect getaway for any little body.
Mix bedding.
Vintage quilts are charming and colorful, two important components to a kidâs bedroom. They can be mixed with bold patterns, such as a chunky black and white stripe, to bring the bedroom a modern, somewhat eclectic vibe.
Hang a canopy.
There are few things more magical to a child than having a âfortâ or other special place. A canopy for a bed creates an instant sort of secret garden getaway. The canopy can be ceiling mounted and hung over even just a corner of the bed with a beautiful effectâŠand a million imaginative opportunities.
Double canopies are a fun way to create a âprincessâ feel in a girlsâ bedroom, in particular. They are particularly feminine when made out of a gauzy, pale material.
Fill the space with beautiful things.
If your child feels more at home surrounded by things s/he loves, then take this into consideration when youâre working to decorate the bedroom. If itâs what they love, fill the space! Fill the walls, overlap loved pieces and prints.
Layer window treatments.
Just because a window already has window treatments doesnât mean itâs automatically off-limits for further dĂ©cor. A sweet garland or banner (or two!) layered over top of curtains provides depth and charm.
Choose a unique bed. To make a statement, and to make a child feel very special, consider selecting a bed that is unique and stylish in its own right. Iron, brass, wood, and many other materials make great bed frame choices.
Itâs a good idea, on a kidâs bed, to provide some way for the child to be able to sit comfortably while in bed. Whether itâs a padded headboard or a vertical stack of squishy pillows, be sure that the child has the ability to read, doodle, or even just sit and listen to music while tucked away in their own space.
Keep the palette contained.
In the case of a very decorated kidsâ bedroom, there is a high potential of being overstimulating. This effect can be alleviated by the strategic adherence to a soft, pale color palette.
A tight color palette of soft, similar colors helps the many pieces of décor work in cohesion. They provide charming decoration without assaulting the senses like high contrasting tones would do.
Let kidsâ rooms be fancy.
Many parents avoid âfancyâ decorations in their childrenâs bedrooms for a variety of reasons, but there are few bedroom schemes as magical for a child as those that look and feel grown-up. Draped strings of pearls, ornate gilded frames, and plenty of textures and metallics throughout the space transform this girlsâ bedroom into a princess palace. Â
Mount 3-D shapes on the wall.
Metal butterflies look like theyâre softly, swiftly taking flight, mounted to the wall and flying up and over the closet door. The same charming effect could be achieved with any number of animal cut-outs.
Include black.
A completely pink or a completely blue or a completely any-color room will feel relatively one-dimensional, no matter how well itâs decorated, if there isnât something black or very dark to keep things grounded. Even in this airy, girly bedroom, some dark accents are included to keep the entire room from floating away, because thatâs actually an uncomfortable and unsettling feeling.
Create a gallery wall.
A gallery wall that has matching white frames is a great place to start, as far as wall decorating in a kidâs bedroom. The white frames lend a sweetness to the artwork, which means that the artwork itself doesnât need to be juvenile.
A gallery wall behind a large furniture piece, such as a desk or dresser, can be given a more casual vibe by being layered behind a few colorful toys or other sentimental objects.
Incorporate wood.
One decorating mistake that is easy to make while decorating a childâs bedroom is to choose colorful pieces or painted furnishings without incorporating some natural wood.
Wood pieces provide a beautiful and stabilizing component of any decorated space, and kidsâ bedrooms are no exception.
Accommodate awkward architecture.
This attic bedroom of a 100+ year old home has charming and challenging slanted ceilings. The room itself is delightful, though, with plenty of natural light let in by a strategic one-sided window drapery.
A dresser is tucked under yet another slanted ceiling, creating the secure feel of a nook. Keep colors muted with busy architecture so that there is less extraneous visual chaos.
Include a rocking chair.
The curtain pools to the floor for elegance, and a rocking chair is thoughtfully equipped with a blanket and pillow for long or short snuggles.
Having a chair that you can read together in is a great functional and formative decorating tip for any bedroom â a nursery, a childâs bedroom, even a teenâs, guest, or master.
Here, a rocking chair tucked into the corner of a smallish-average sized master bedroom illustrates clearly that children are welcome here, that feet can (and should!) be put up at the end of a day, that life can slow down for a few moments.
Use greenery.
Any bedroom with a source of natural light will probably benefit from a healthy plant. Itâs a great way to soften corners and round out edges, plus it just makes the space feel fresh and healthful.
Use soft rugs.
No matter the regular floor type, itâs always a sweet idea to place a soft rug of sorts underfoot at the side of the bed. This provides a physical and emotional transition from bed to life and back to bed again.
Add gold polka dots.
In this tiny nursery, nothing could be cuter than the mid-sized gold polka dots on the facing wall. The peach wall color provides a traditional feeling foundation, but the polka dots combined with pooled drapes, modern light fixture, and greenery create a lovely, welcoming, almost grown-up space. Almost.
The slanted ceiling feels perfect in this space where imaginative play is encouraged to reign supreme.
Architecturally, the crib is tucked away on all sides, making the space feel snug and safe. No other décor is needed when the architecture is allowed to do all the design heavy lifting.
Hang a textile.
A favorite blanket, an heirloom quilt, a keepsake from a travel excursion, or anything else that falls under the umbrella of visual textile can easily be hung on the wall as a form of art. This is especially lovely in a childâs bedroom, as the fabric-y nature softens the grownup concept of art.
Leave windows bare.
If the bedroom is on an upper level of the house, you can get away with leaving them untreated without sacrificing privacy. This helps the room overall to feel lightened and brightened.
Hang a dress as décor.
It couldnât be easier, really, to simply hang a dress or a favorite shirt from the closet door handles, but what a sweet impact this small touch makes on the entire room!
Include a surface by the bed.
Nightstands, or horizontal surfaces easily accessible from the bed, are not just important in adult bedrooms. Theyâre great for kidsâ rooms, too. Something as simple as a chair is an inexpensive, or even free, way to decorate the bedroom and can provide precisely the convenience that a child needs at bedtime, for a book or a pair of glasses or even a water bottle.
Let toys in.
No matter what else is going on, decoration-wise, in the room, remember that a childâs bedroom will be most effective if there are at least a few toys easily accessible to the child and his/her friends. A doll cradle, rocking horse, or something else on the larger side of toy-dom makes this less visually intrusive, actually, than a whole collection of itty bitty pieces. (Those, of course, can easily be contained in larger basket or box, for a simpler aesthetic solution.)
Use stacks of books as décor.
Youâll do well to rotate the books in the stack so that they actually get read and enjoyed, but a stack of books with a plant on top, for example, makes a great statement. And itâs about a simple and straightforward a bedroom decoration as you can imagineâŠand itâs free!
Match bedding.
If your kids are lucky enough to share a room, itâs fun to match bedding a little bit to keep the potential for visual chaos at bay. These built-in bunks are so interesting architecturally that it would be a disservice to this bedroom if the bedding were competing for attention.
Include a comfy seat.
We all love a comfy place to snuggle up, and what better place to include such a seat than a childâs bedroom? Itâs best if there is an easily accessible reading light nearby to encourage readingâŠisnât that just about every parentâs dream for their kid? To find them snuggled in, lost in the world of a good book?
Paint doors the same color as walls.
This is less critical if you are looking to decorate a bedroom with white walls already, because you probably wonât even notice the fact that the doors are white as well. But often, when bedroom walls are painted a beautiful color, the doors are left white by default. Iâm not sure why this is so. But painting the doors the same color as the walls creates a calming, soothing atmosphereâŠand makes a small room feel a bit larger.
Look up.
Kids spend a lot of time looking up at the world, adults less so. With this in mind, itâs a great tip to look up and decorate the space above a grownupâs eye level. Hang a mural or a ship from the ceiling, especially a vaulted ceiling, to really delight the younger bedroom population.
Look up.
A mobile of planets provides food for young thought as well as a sight for sore eyes. This mobile looks particularly studious set against wood paneled walls; itâs a great look for a teenagerâs room as much as a childâs.
Build a bench.
Perhaps your childâs bedroom isnât set up for a built-in window bench (although lucky you if it is!), but you can mimic the look and function of a window seat by building a bench and padding its top.
Use symmetry.
For the bedroom with two twin beds, a charming way to create equal design opportunities for both of the roomâs inhabitants is to use symmetry. Two similar, if not matching, beds create structure and cohesion in a space that has lots going on, just by nature of its doubled-up inhabitants.
Install a chandelier.
A fancy vintage chandelier is delightfully elegant and sophisticated in a childâs bedroom, which makes it a perfect choice for such a space. You may want to supplement with other task-oriented lighting in the space, but a chandelier will certainly be a focal point.
Clear the nightstand.
The purpose of a nightstand is to have a surface at the ready when youâre going to sleep, but this makes it prone to becoming a dumping ground of all sorts of odds and ends. When this happens, then it no longer serves its purpose. Keep the nightstand free of unnecessary clutter for a useful addition to the childâs bedroom, even if it means making âclear the nightstandâ a part of the childâs morning routine.
Use real objects as toys.
Vintage objects can make magical playthings, as evidenced by this real-life cradle. Not only is the object chock-full of sentimentality (the girls whose bedroom this is each lay in there as babies themselves), but it can provide hours of creative play opportunity.
Plus, itâs hard to replicate the details of a well-made and well-loved vintage piece.
Create a working space.
Even when theyâre toddlers or preschoolers, most children love to have their own âworkingâ space. A desk, a table, or any sort of space that feels like the desk of a grownup is going to be a hit for many children.
Allow space for organization.
An organized desk area and a useful magnet or bulleting board will help the child hone organization skills, as well as be able to find and access the important things.
Use soft seats.
Fabric can easily be swapped out on many desk chairs, so why not take advantage of this fact and upholster the seat of the childâs desk chair? This is a simple and effective way to introduce pattern and color into a space, too, if those are components that are lacking.
Incorporate a fun seat.
Thereâs something alluring about a chair thatâs mounted from the ceiling, especially for kids. Hang a swing, a hammock, an egg chair, or any number of seat-able objects to help your childâs room feel like a fun and unique getaway.
Choose a colorful chair.
Chairs are relatively simple to find in a variety of colors and styles, and this is a very simple way to bring color contrast or enhancement into a bedroom. A happy yellow desk chair, for example, is going to add so much personality to a childâs bedroom while giving her a comfortable place to sit and study. Itâs a win-win!
Paint stripes.
If youâre a minimalist at heart or are simply not up for decorating with stuff, you can achieve a decorated look in a childâs bedroom by painting the walls. Consider vertical or horizontal stripes behind the bed for a unique and simple method of decorating. Bonus: It takes up no space!
Hang wallpaper.
Wallpaper is available in so many patterns, styles, shapes, colors, proportions, etc. If you want to wallpaper your childâs bedroom, youâre sure to find something that suits both of you, style-wise. This gorgeous bird wallpaper sets the perfect tone for a bolder fuchsia tufted headboard; the contrast is utterly charming.
We hope youâve been inspired and found ways that you can decorate your kids bedroom in ways that make your children happy. And that you are able to recognize that you donât have to sacrifice style or organization just because the space is primarily visited by a child. Enjoy creating the space that they will love to spend time in.

How to Decorate a Kidsâ Bedroom: Easy Ideas for Every Style
[ad_1]
While many people spend a lot of their dĂ©cor thought and effort on public rooms, such as the living room and kitchen, it is in the bedroom that purposeful and effective dĂ©cor really has an impact on a homeownerâs well-being. In this article, weâll look at a variety of styles of and methods for how to decorate a bedroom, including ways to decorate a bedroom for free.
Whether youâre looking to decorate a kidâs bedroom or a master bedroom, we hope youâll find some inspiration in these spaces.
Maintain proportions.
A childâs bed will often be small, which means it makes the most sense to keep the decorations in proportion to that bed. Hang wall art lower, donât stress over matching, and keep it simple.
Add a unique lamp.
A cute lamp goes a long way in a kidâs bedroom for adding to the dĂ©cor without adding a bunch of clutter that, letâs be honest, will likely end up on the floor or in another room altogether.
