BIOGRAPHY.

The firstborn of two boys, Dean Jackson felt like he was always supposed to be a big brother. His life before Jake came along is one he holds no memory of, from age three onwards, much of his very existence was devoted to seeing his younger brother thrive.

The pair grew up in a loving and oftentimes chaotic household being raised by a father who worked in finance and a mother who could never quite settle on what she wanted to do. She tried on every kind of career and calling, which meant for the most part she was at home raising the pair of them without ever any complaint despite the mischief they liked to get themselves into.

While growing up and all through high school, Dean had little idea of a future for himself. He knew that he needed a career, needed some sort of structure and purpose, but the dreams of those around him – medicine, professional athleticism, astronaut – held no appeal to him.

It wasn’t until his senior year when the pressure really set in and college was a looming threat rather than a desired outcome did he settle on what he wanted to do and who he wanted to be.

Forgoing the traditional four year college path, he set about training locally as a firefighter instead, a job he took to with enthusiasm and expertise which was a far cry from his previous experiences working minimum wage jobs throughout school. Even from the time he was a probationary firefighter, it was clear to his colleagues that if he wanted to, Dean could rise through the ranks quickly.

His career trajectory was stilted when at twenty-seven while on a routine code-check he received word that his brother had died on a climbing trip. For all his years of worrying over him, from spills on his bike to injuries sustained from doing dumb stunts with his friends, he had thought at twenty-four Jake had grown out of his reckless streak. No such luck.

The loss of his brother changed everything. The once happy Jackson home was strangled by grief after the unexpected loss, weekly Sunday dinners had become a thing of the past and now it was rare for the three of them to gather together unless it was a holiday or a day to commemorate Jake. It was too hard to otherwise.

Dean’s way of coping after the dust had settled was to throw himself into work in a way he hadn’t before. He became almost obsessive about being the best firefighter he could be, to become the kind of man who could have saved his brother if he had been on the mountain with him that day.

Suhana had to really work hard to get her last period of the day to calm down. Thankfully the school was moving on a modified schedule which meant shorter classes, but that also meant she had to sit through a long career day assembly with her last class of the day which was always usually the antsiest class of the day too. It wasn’t only that, but she had to casually keep an eye on other students and make sure they were also behaving. It was just an hour. One hour of listening to people from the community talk about their jobs and let the kids mingle and get free pencils before the final bell and then it was every man and woman for themselves. She put on her teacher smile as the principal began to speak, politely gesturing to any student that could see her to quiet down– which they thankfully did.

It wasn’t that Romy disliked seafood, but given the choice she’d always prefer a burger or a nice chicken thigh over a fish filet. She wasn’t sure where her distaste for what most would consider delicacies came from but for her, it was just... too fishy. So as she made her way down the buffet line, she was relieved to find that they’d taken people like her into consideration and she loaded her plate up with chicken, shrimp, and various sides. Once she reached the end, she grabbed her silverware and turned to go outside, the crowd in the dining room causing her anxiety to spike to the point where she hadn’t realized someone else was reaching for the silverware as she turned.

Emilia was a paramedic but she had befriended most of the firefighters too. In all honesty sometimes she wished she was a firefighter, it felt like something she’d be good at, but with her hearing loss and her disability it wasn’t exactly a good fit, she couldn’t move fast or hear people calling out or her chief’s commands. IPL auction: Complete players' list and their base price

The IPL 2018 auction will take place in Bengaluru on January 27 and 28 where a total of 578 players will go under the hammer.

A fierce bidding war is expected as Indian stars Gautam Gambhir, off-spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, mystery spinner Kuldeep Yadav and openers KL Rahul and Murali Vijay will be on the franchises’ radar.

The list also includes the overseas players, including Glenn Maxwell, Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, Rashid Khan and Eoin Morgan. 

In the 10th season, Mumbai Indians led by Rohit Sharma defeated Pune to lift the IPL trophy for the third time.

The 11th season of the much-awaited Indian Premier League will begin on 6th April 2018.  

The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on April 6 in Mumbai while the first match of the new season will be played at the same venue on April 7.
