two things: one. i never planned a party. two. the previous sentence was a lie bevause i DID plan a party when i was ten years old and everyone had to be a princess and it would include dancing while i play turkish motiffs on my electric piano and also i knew who i would ban and how everyone had to behave so i am summoning a ten yo me right now

ALRIGHT SO the first one is going to be tea party and I'm getting most pleasant characters i can think of. give me finrod because he knows how to keep up a good and lighthearted conversation. add beor because he and finrod are besties and also beor has an excellent sense of humour, i just know it. also he rarely gets invited to parties which is a Shame. next, of course, Bilbo because all parties are made better by Bilbo. And Elrond!!! Elrond and Bilbo make such a good pair. Throw in Elros for a mix, to make all of them happy. And Amarië and Celebrian for gender diversity (also because they're nice.)

So the food and tea I'll have to get before the party because baking with that many people present is a nightmare. And then I just. Hope the thing kicks in. All of them combined can make for a great and relaxed conversation. I can get some tabletop games later in the evening, or talk Bilbo into reading his poetry.

Now, the second one. (evil laugh)

First of all, screw the responsibility. Get me Feanor, Fingolfin and Finarfin. THEY are planning the party now. They can't leave until they do so.

First of all, who they're gonna call? Feanor, of course, wants to have all of his sons show up, to which Fingolfin protests and Finarfin takes a deep breath. After an hour of arguing they compromise and decide to call Finwë. Next one up is... (throws darts) Eöl. That one is MY initiative because I think that's funny. Fingolfin rebels. He NEEDS to smash Eöl's head on something. Feanor shares the sentiment, and they add Celegorm to the mix. I give the dart to Finarfin and spin the wheel. He sighs and throws the dart with his eyes closed. He misses. On purpose. He's wise like that. "If you're so smart," I say, "why don't you show up to the party." Finarfin reminds me that darts are very pointy and my neck is particularly vulnerable. To which I remind him that I am beyond the narrative and throw the dart myself. It lands on Turin Turambar, because of course. Finarfin has no idea who Turin is, while Feanor and Fingolfin have had enough of watching him suffer. They start plotting. The choice is between Turgon and Orodreth. Feanor says that technically, they already have a member each from the first two houses (cue the heated argument of whether or not should they consider eöl a member of fingolfin's house), and recommends to send Orodreth. finarfin, who, while they argued, managed to fetch a copy of narn, stares them down and writes beleg to the list. feanor and fingolfin are silent for a while because they Can't Believe they forgot about Beleg Cuthalion. Suddenly, Fingolfin grins and draws the name of Thingol of Doriath. I clap my hands and set a werewolf loose in the mansion where the party has to begin. and also get some wine for finarfin because of how diappointed in me he looks. the four of us sit in our watching room and brace for the drama. maybe the real party were the frenemies we made along the way.

What’s your opinion on Fenders?

i was going to make a "you must be new here" joke since it's no secret that i ship them, but i'll go ahead and elaborate.

i find anders and fenris's canon relationship to be one of the most disappointing wastes of potential in the series. it makes sense that they'd start off hostile, but i think we can all recognize that the writers played up the rivalry between these (and other) characters solely for the sake of drama.

they spend seven years in the same social group, routinely fighting alongside each other. i cannot believe that in that time they would never manage to find common ground. and in fact, them going from hating each other to sympathizing with and understanding each other would have been an AMAZING arc.

i'm not saying they needed to be besties or 100% agree with each other, but a mutual respect of the others' perspective and having debates where they actually listen to each other would make more sense than anders approving of selling fenris back into slavery and fenris approving of making a deal with a demon to kill anders ever did.

the thing is that anders and fenris are so similar. but because of their respective origins and traumas, it's difficult for them to see that. and there is SO MUCH you can do with that, so much angst and drama you can milk from that premise. but instead we get the cheap, cruel drama of fenris implying karl maybe deserved to be tranquil and anders calling fenris a wild dog.

it's just such a waste! they both fundamentally oppose institutions of oppression and seek freedom for themselves. they fight on behalf of their respective peoples (anders championing mage rights and post-da2 fenris hunting slavers). they both struggle in dealing with their trauma, and are both passionate, determined, loving men.

to bring this back to fenders, i enjoy exploring the potential of what could have been; like i said, there's lots of drama and angst and emotional catharsis to draw from it. and on a personal level, i enjoy relationships with 1) unexpected pairings and 2) where the people involved have to put in effort to make it work. and fenders has both of these in spades.

oh man oh bestie you better buckle up bc i am going to ramble.

so i think what really kind of draws me in, initially, is that i think, aesthetically speaking, they're attractive people. i like to put attractive people together. I'm a shallow bisexual, what can i say? but i also believe that there was a bit of chemistry there because i think joe quinn had pretty much chemistry with everyone. there was a moment, very briefly and i did yell at myself for it, with robin but i think it was less robin and more maya for me. the problem i have is that i roleplayed online for fucking ten years so i think in terms of face claims, yk? i like to put pretty people together. so it wasn't really eddie x robin bc what the fuck, she's a lesbian. the thought was kicked out as fast as i could i am so fucking sorry it came to my mind.

another thing is that, i know this is widely disputed and I'm sorry for bringing it up again, their sexualities aren't necessarily defined per se and i am always pushing my bisexuality onto my characters. so i like eddie and nancy as bisexual. if you don't, that's fucking fantastic and i love that. i am not here to sway anyone's opinions.

anyway edancy as characters. they would be utterly chaotic together. even in a friend aspect. in one of my fics i think i referred to eddie, in a certain mood, as robin turned to 11. which, could be wrong of course, but since it's nancy's point of view i think that's how she'll take it. so it would require a lot of patience to be each other's friend which neither of them really are so it's not like the best friendship. in one of my fics she's very guilt driven and also realizes she's been lonely without a friend like barb and now she's collecting them like robin and eddie. and steve kinda. eventually argyle and Jonathan. i just like the platonic love i am creating in my fic let me tell you. one day i'll post it i promise.

i also like that they have this like potential bc they do know each other, maybe not well or anything, but they've gone to the same high school together for four years. you tend to learn people after a while, especially in a small town. i mean all she said in the walkie was it's nancy and he instantly said wheeler! no one previously stated if nancy was a part of it or not because i don't think they went and saw eddie after getting nancy involved due to needing to figure out how to help max.

he knew his trailer was seven fucking miles from her house. i don't think he liked mike THAT much to know that by giving him rides home. that has literally been in my brain since you brought it up. i like to think that he could have had a crush on her, yk? the idea of eddie biking to her house or maybe driving if it happened later but i don't i picture like middle school for some reason. actually it really depends on the au ig bc i have like fucking 3 of them in my mind at once. in the canon divergence au, it was middle school bc I'm using the talent show angle bc of a specific scene and ship from skins gen 3. if you know arnold x violet pls pls get that i think nancy was a ballet dancer growing up and she would have done that at the talent show. and focused on her mistakes while eddie was like nah i thought it was beautiful. bc the scene from skins was this metal head, who had temporarily gone deaf, went and saw a ballet dancer dance and it was so fucking beautiful he fell in love with her. (this is by memory i haven't watched skins in like ten years)

in the rockstar au it was his senior year bc he graduated on time bc it was the only way to make it work where she didn't really know the guy. and i haven't made it up yet for the 10 things au but that will come. i promise. it's never going away.

eddie and nancy just kinda went into my ear, invaded my brain and never left. don't get me wrong, i still ship other ships with them, i appreciate a lot of them. and don't appreciate all of them. bc there are some that i can't get behind. but I've always been the type to be a multi shipper, a crack shipper, whatever. I've been on this website long enough to have seen the oddest pairings and go "yeah, that's fucking cool". does it usually have to do with putting two hot people together? yes. yes it does. do i care? no. no i do not.

i'm going to get off my soap box now. i have rambled long enough about thoughts and opinions on edancy. tl;dr: i think they're neat

Pantheons InkWash 2021 - 1st Week

Day 1 - Crystal // Charon

"A soul is not unlike a crystal. If it is cracked or broken, it can't just be fixed. Not easily, at least. And marks will always remain after that... This is why I always brings as many souls as possible to the other side at once. Unlike what most mortals believe, I need no obol. I appreciate the gesture, but I have no need for it..."

Day 2 - Costume // Hathor and Hera

Hera seems to like Hathor's dress a lot. All these complexe patterns look wonderfull. Though Hathor admits herself simplicity can be nice too. So she likes Hera's just as much.

Day 3 - Vessel // The Spirits of the canopic jars

Also known as the Sons of Horus, they are in charge of protecting the deceased's organs. Imsety, protector of the liver ; Duamutef, protector of the stomac ; Hapi, protector of the lungs and Qebehsenuef, protector fo the intestines.

(I'll be honest, except maybe for the last of the four, I don't really have much ideas on what kind of personality I could give them...)

Day 4 - Knot // The Fates

"... How did this even happen ?" asked Lachesis to her sisters.

"I swear it wasn't like that, earlier !" exclaimed Clotho, a bit panicked.

"You know," started Atropos, "maybe we should cut this short before the life tied to this thread gets tangled into whatever mess this knot might represent ?"

"No need," Lachesis affirmed, "I'm sure there is a way to undo this... Or at least, make it smaller..."

Day 5 - Bird // Geb (feat. Bheb)

You thought I'd just draw one or all of the bird-like egyptian gods, didn't you ? Nope ! Have Geb and his pet goose !

Yes, I made what is originally the hieroglyph on his head an actual goose, and she's his pet. You can't stop me ! BHEB IS A GOOD GIRL-

Day 6 - Spirit // Medjed

Boy oh boy... That rascal.

Not much is actually known about Medjed except that they are also know as "the Smiter" and can apparently... *checks wikipedia* shoot laser out of their eyes ??? (That's funny because I didn't know this when I made that drawing...)

But anyway, because of some play on the words in my own language (based on them being some kind of spirit AND a "smiter"), I have decreed they are some sort of poltergeist. A deified poltergeist that still can do good, but are very chaotic neutral in their behaviour.

Oh and of course, they like to look scary. (they don't usually show their teeth unless they want to look menacing.)

(I have imagined more about them but this entry is long enough already...)

Day 7 - Chill // Hermes and Anubis

They're besties and you can't convince me otherwise. I don't think I'd really be able to explain why I think that ! (Except from the fact that the greeks kinda associated Anubis with Hermes in some ways...)

And... Yeah. I can see them just chillin' together from time to time, especially since I see both of them as being rather laid back (Hermes more than Anubis, though).

They'd also hang out with Thoth too if it weren't for the latter being very busy and, most importantly, him not wanting Hermes anywhere near his study OR library.

Part 1: Hello, I've frequently lurked on your blog, first time sending an ask. I saw your 'overdue rant' and want to explain the other side respectfully. I used to stan Liam. I don't anymore, not that I don't appreciate what he did and how he and Zayn had (maybe have?) a great relationship. I think there is a difference between seeing something written in print and hearing it said. I like Z the most, I'll be honest so the fact that L dragged him 3 times (IRLnot print) doesn't sit right with me.

Part 2: So I’m disappointed by what Liam said, and if he/his team just admitted they were shitty things to say, me and most Ztans would be cool with it. But what he said was so unnecessary and could’ve been avoided? Hell Niall did it with grace in billboard. I would never talk shit abt Liam or try to change people’s minds abt him but that’s what you’re all doing now, trying to excuse what L said instead of calling him out. 1 can still stan people and see why someone might have a problem w them!

Hello! First off, thanks for sharing your concerns and feelings with me so politely. I enjoy hearing the thoughts of people outside my corner of the fandom. I agree that there is a difference between print!Liam and live!Liam, and it definitely upset me to hear how Liam’s team incorporated Zayn into Liam’s promo tour. However, after moping around for a bit, I was able to step back and consider the biggest motivating factor to all this controversy.

Liam has mentioned Zayn multiple times in the past month. A few were references to his appreciation for Pillowtalk, and the other 3 were the comments in question. Let’s break them down one by one.

1) Liam Payne sat down for a chat with our old pal Dan Wootton. Dan is a longtime friend of Simon, and has broken literally every exclusive for Liam’s latest relationship with Simon’s close friend and XF judge. How convenient. Dan also has slammed each of the boys individually and as a band on multiple occasions. Regardless of that, he has still received solo exclusives from Zayn, Niall, Harry, and Liam (and I’m sure Louis’ moment is coming as well). In this interview, Liam apparently forgot that several times in the 2 years from April 2015 on, he revealed that he had spoken with Zayn and everything was good between them. Let’s recall the infamous elevator pap clip where Liam said he loves Zayn with his own mouth, and would never rule him out of a future 1D reunion. Poof. That’s gone now, and replaced with Liam “confiding” in Dan that he isn’t sure what Zayn’s problem was, and there won’t be an OT5 reunion. Keep in mind, this interview was recorded without video, so we don’t even know if the final cut included Liam’s original words on Zayn. He may have had to “repeat” himself to get Dan’s point across. In my opinion, considering the close relationship between Dan and Simon, and Simon’s dislike of Liam following his solo signing and the 2017 Brits, I think this interview is highly suspicious at best. Moving on..

2) Shortly after the interview with Dan was released, we got footage of Liam playing a twisted game where he had to choose one of his close friends to condemn. First of all, this question should NEVER have been asked. It’s highly inappropriate and his team should’ve screened it out. The fact that it was allowed to be asked is interesting, and I will get to that in a bit. If you haven’t seen the clip, Liam has to choose between Ed Sheeran, Harry, or Zayn to leave behind, like in a scenario similar to the Titanic. Breaking down the choices is tough, because there is no good answer. Ed has been publicly friends with the boys for years, and helped write Liam’s new single. Ed also has a ton of fans who wouldn’t take kindly to the thought of Liam abandoning him after he generously helped launch Liam’s solo career. Harry was in the middle of his own album promo tour, and Liam had already said that Harry’s style of music isn’t his favorite. I doubt he wanted to make multiple negative comments about one of his closest friends. Zayn and Liam did not continue their public relationship after March 2015, and everyone is aware that he left the band. Liam also complimented Zayn’s music in interviews before and after this clip. Choosing Zayn was the lesser of 3 evils as far as the public is concerned. Still technically evil, but the best choice in the face of an extremely loaded question. As far as how Liam answered the question, I don’t think Liam was being malicious. His wording was very specific. Liam’s sense of humor can be dark at times, but he didn’t actually say he would leave Zayn for dead. For all we know, he meant leave him behind with a life ring or something. I don’t think it’s wise to assume that Liam was purposefully trying to hurt Zayn in a pretend game that was obviously setup to make him cast a negative light on their relationship.

3) This Tuesday Liam attended the Glamour awards and presented James Corden with an award. In his speech, Liam spoke of how James wanted to be in a boyband, and shared that James was in a band of his own that even boasted a slogan. Liam commented that maybe if 1D had a slogan, Zayn wouldn’t have left, and he would keep that in mind for next time. There are a couple things that I would like to draw to your attention. First, Zayn did leave the band (whether you believe it was willing or not), but that doesn’t seem to be the issue. From what I’ve gathered, people are mad that Liam basically claimed that Zayn’s depature could’ve been avoided with something as small as a slogan. In other words, Liam seems to be oblivious to how difficult Zayn’s time in the band was. Let’s turn back the clock a bit. Liam and Zayn were extremely close friends for the entireity of OT5’s existence. They shared interests such as the world of superheroes and comic books, and commented multiple times on their similar taste in music. They also most likely shared far more personal subjects, such as difficulties with public opinion or lack of musical input. If you weren’t in the fandom for March 2015 and the following months, you may not realize that Liam was literally devastated by Zayn’s sudden departure. He cried on stage multiple times and was generally less enthusiastic for weeks following the incident. The fact that Liam is able to joke about something that upset him greatly tells me that some of his scars are healing. Liam is making light of what was clearly a very difficult situation for everyone involved, not trivializing what Zayn went through. Second, let’s all ponder what “keeping it in mind for next time” means. The next time one of your band members decides to abruptly leave mid-tour, or the next time Liam is in a band with Zayn? Of course, there’s no way to know for sure, but one of those two options is way more likely than the other. Take from it what you will.

So what we wind up with upon further inspection is a couple offhanded comments and a questionable interview with Simon’s bestie. All of it was unnecessary, I agree, and that raises the question, why is Liam talking about Zayn so much after 2 years of near radio silence? His team is obviously on board with this bizarre strategy, but why? I don’t know the specifics of why Liam’s team is continuing to associate Zayn and Liam, but I have a couple ideas. Perhaps it’s to perpetuate the idea that Liam is completely free of 1D. We could be led to believe that Liam was not allowed to discuss Zayn while in 1D, but now he is. This idea is limited by the elevator clip I mentioned early though. Why else would he randomly change his stance on one of the most controversial situations involving his best friend of 5 years? Perhaps in the future there will be a public reconciliation in which Zayn and Liam have a heart-to-heart, and that leads to an OT5 reunion. Who knows? But from what I do know about Liam, suddenly bashing Zayn after all they shared together is extremely out of character, and something that I refuse to take at face value.

I hope that this helps you understand how I worked through my feelings towards this unfortunate round of promo. I personally don’t see Liam apologizing for any of the above instances because none of them were truly meant to hurt Zayn. I think they were meant to reassociate Zayn and Liam in the press, but it was poorly planned and the attempts at humor fell flat. In my mind, there is no bigger Ztan than Liam himself, and I completely understand why this has thrown a lot of people for a loop. Here’s hoping for a better round of promo in the coming month.
