uh so remember when i said i'll draw Rook with a ton of piercings when i have free time? well i don't have free time but im still gonna doodle him anw. I'll make a clearer more detailed version showcasing all of the piercings he has on himself in a later post someday.

Headcanons I need to get out of my system to study

Rook has a big collection of piercings because of his running internal dialogue of "Do I really need this" and "Oh but it does seem intriguing" (which also caused him to store a lot of knick-knacks he finds on missions or down Undercity in his room).

His collection is filled with piercings that radiate "lesbian earrings" vibes but he wears the more casual and minimal ones most of the time because he doesn't want the special ones to get dirty or destroyed in an unexpected attack or sth.

A good portion of them are gifts from Ben, Gwen, Kevin, Shar and Rook Ben.

Some of them are handmade ones. Rook, being Rook ofc, went the extra mile and made them gadgets in the guise of jewelry. I haven't thought too much abt this tho but there'll be walkie-talkie earrings (naturally), earrings that are also tranquilizer darts, camera earrings and so on. He takes great inspiration from Kingsman and a handful of old spy movies he refuses to admit he loves enjoys because of how "unrealistic and overly-dramatic" they were.

While Ben was the one who gave Rook his first piercing and earring, Gwen was the one who got him sorta addicted (in a healthy sense) to it. I think Gwen in her early 20s will pierce her nose and eyebrows, she's always wanted to but never really had the chance because she knew her mom would freak if she knew (it's not like she has fur to cover up the holes like Rook). So, the first time Gwen decided to pierce her nose, she brought Rook with her (ofc Ben and Kevin also tagged along for fun) and entertained him with the idea of getting his rook (yes pun intended) pierced. She was pleasantly surprised Rook agreed and they became piercing buddies since then.

Piercing was Rook's first "kinda Earthling" hobby, unrelated to his truk, his proto-tool and the whole Plumber business in general so Ben was glad Rook wasn't a full-time workaholic anymore.
