The car garage of S.I. Sokolov and Z.I. Ivanov is a historical building in Saratov, famous for its bas-relief of a car in the upper part of the house. The building was built in 1887. It belonged until 1913 to the owners of the mirror factory N. I. Sedov and P. P. Borisov-Morozov. But the owners went bankrupt and were forced to sell the factory building to the owners of the automobile business S.I. Sokolov and. Z.I. Ivanov, who set up a car garage here. Zakhary Ivanov became the prototype of the driver Adam Kozlevich and ended up on the pages of the novel “The Golden Calf” by I. Ilf and E. Petrov
