But he has never lived through the lead up, never witnessed Henry’s own emotions chip away at him until they opened a crack for all the sadness to burrow, to leave him too empty and too full. He knows how Henry often hides when he’s like this, no matter how much Alex tries to help, but with them in the same house, there’s nowhere for him to run anymore.
