now that I've let it simmer a few days, god I'm so frustrated with how rushed baldurs gate act3 felt.
Like the first and second acts felt so balanced and well paced and then you enter the third act and it just feels like a wild goose race to finish everything as fast as possible. I did every single side story and mission that the game had to offer, but I felt like act3 was over before it even got to start.
Also that epilogue? It felt like they just rushed to quickly push out something to end the game on something.
I still love this game, already planning on a durge run and replaying act3 as my first character with some different choices, but man what could've been if they gave the last act as much love as the earlier ones

Okay, some thoughts on Naia's playthrough after Act 2:
- Again, really loving how protective the party is of each other. First everyone getting protective of Gale in Act 1, now Astarion in Act 2- everybody talks about how they’re gonna protect him from Cazador and it’s very sweet. And then again after Shadowheart's crisis at the Guantlet- even Lae'zel said she didn't like seeing how Shadowheart was hurting!
- Naia continues to be a gloomy little cynic while also helping everyone around her. As funny as it is, she’s also having very real Feelings about seeing all the necromancy and ‘dark’ magic being done by Thorm and Balthazar, and dealing with the fact she’s so *fascinated* by it. She's never had much connection with gods, but she does definitely understand Shadowheart's struggles over whether to give in to that darker part of herself
-all the horror vibes in this act were fantastic. Especially the House of Healing- I watch a lot of horror stuff and not much freaks me out, but that scene honestly gave me chills
-the scene at the end of the act with the Dead Three? loved it. These villains have evil swagger and I'm here for it. the Absolute Cult as a whole was really working as antagonistic force in Act 2, and i think part of that is that it finally departs from the 'All Bad Guys Are An Evil Species' thing that was going on with the goblins and duregar in Act 1
-Animate Dead is my new favorite spell. Naia just always has a small army of skeletons with her at all times. It's adorable
-too many good character moments with the companions to list them all, but needless to say i have a whole host of ficlet ideas running through my head right now
-I am obsessed with Dame Aylin
-if anything bad happens to Mol or Arabella or any of these tiefling kids, Naia (and I) will riot
