It's very strange seeing other people interpret your relationships through the lens of a story, and seeing them do it completely incorrectly

I get why it happens obviously- to them it is just a story, and everything is open for interpretation, and the version of events that I'm from is only one of many possibilities.

Still strange though

#this applies very strongly to any relationship I have had that people think is romantic #because relationship here mostly means friendships and some familial relationships #but this particular post was actually inspired by the number of people who seem to think that Martha hates me?#like. we're fine. she stopped traveling with me because it was in her best interest to do so #but #we met up with that after that and everything was fine and we're cool with each other now?#like it's nobody's fault that things worked out the way they did #she's my friend and it's not her fault that she had a crush on me and it's not my fault that I didn't have one on her #there's no bad guys here just people who weren't at the right places in their lives to spend a lot of time together #also I agree the chameleon arch made me kind of suck but. vitally. I did not microprogram every aspect of that guy's personality #he is not me that's the point. it's basically a randomly generated average dude from a specific time and place and I do not get to pick #Martha did end up having to come up with a lot more nonsense than she should have #but also not every adventure I go on with people is made into an episode of a TV show #we had good times together too
