I am thinking about scar all the time but unfortunately I cannot transfer any of those thoughts into the intelligent and coherent analysis he deserves, so instead you guys get stuck with all my thoughts about idiots (greedling)

#SCAR IS JUST SUCH A GOOD CHARACTER....#I just read the chapter where he wakes up in the slums after being rescued from the homunculi #and I'm just like ouuuuguhhhh. augh. coughs up blood.#all the times scar is nursed back to health through the kindness of strangers...... what if I implode.#and this scene in particular just. ough. i can't imagine how conflicted his feelings must have been in that moment #seeing other ishvalans (including ishvalan children!) must be reassuring #but at the same time so painful to see them in poverty in the slums #it's those conflicting emotions that are so interesting to me about scar #the blurry lines between love and hate #because he loves his people so much #and then acts out of such hatred *because* he loves his people so much #and I can't blame him. I can see exactly how he ended up that way #he makes my heart ache #ling might be my favorite character but I think scar is hands down the best character #in terms of concept and characterization and motivation and personal arc and writing and
