I actually think it's so funny and fitting that Zoey peaked in high school, and on some level seems to be aware of it. One of the only funny choices He Who Shall Not be Named made is having all of his main characters be objectively the worst people in their own shows. And they get worse as the shows progress too!!

In season one Zoey is pretty nice, all things considered. Yeah, you can tell she thinks Nicole is too loud and that Quinn is weird but she goes out of her way to help her friends and makes choices based off of their well being. But she gets so much meaner as the show progress.

This happens in iCarly too, but Zoey 101 is kind of my focus right now. I don't know if it was an intentional choice but I think it's so funny to have characters get worse rather than better. And Zoey really follows that. I mean, Logan to an extent gets nicer as the show progresses and it makes me wish even more that Dana had stayed in the show passed the first season, as the other "mean" character. What would have happened with her progression? Did her leaving lead to Zoey becoming a little nastier? But overall Zoey has a pretty clear downward trajectory that I hope they either keep in mind or full on reckon with in the movie.
