the way men (including queer men) don't watch women-centric media is so crazy to me
#some of them outright refuse to and some of them just don't. the thought of watching them just doesn't cross their mind#in fandoms for shows featuring queer men/mlm ship fandoms you have a LOT of women and a lot of sapphics#there's the fetishisation stuff but you know. for shows like young royals and like...bylers a lot of us just relate a lot because we're#queer ourselves#but for lesbian ships it's literally ALWAYS women it's always sapphics themselves#and it's probably because men in general just don't care about stories that aren't about men (because they're taught not to whatever i'm#not blaming them really. i mean i am but it's mostly an observation)#and they'll admit to it willingly one female character when she's a love interest is fine but if she has a personality and idk a friend oh#that's already pushing it#and i was thinking about that a few months ago and kept thinking about how stranger things could never have been centered on a group of#girls#it probably wouldn't have been made at the time (not like the show's that old but you know) and it never would've become the cultural#phenomenon it is now. because half the population wouldn't have pressed play#and also i know grown men would've said the nastiest suff about a 12-year-old girl going missing because they actually do that in real life#when young girls go missing#and like i say: brf slt
