watched gomburza and i honestly cried , idk thinking abt how the filipino identity isn't based on anything really positive , filipino isn't a race or a shared culture or even really like a language until as recently as the 1940s , being filipino is based on oppression and the struggle against it , to be filipino is to be born of these islands and made to inherit its curses and misfortunes , colonialism and hardship , the commonality of suffering is what bridged ppl who were previously divided by ethnicity and even class , anyway this gives me a pt2 essay idea on why the only way to get filipinos to politically support smth is if they are able to identify "the suffering christ" in ur political movement
