do you have a favorite dinosaur? 👁👄👁

Oho! What a question. :D So this took a while because I tried, I tried, to find my own pics, but I'm between computers rn and who the hell knows. Anyway.

The closest I've ever come to paleontology is the original Jurassic Park and some studies on evolutionary development/embryology/etc. I... can't really name any actual dinosaurs. 😅 Buuuut... I don't know, "dinos are extinct" kinda feels to me like just phylogenetic semantics tbh, so forgive and indulge me, imma be a chatbot-ass mf and give you a reply that sounds sorta relevant but isn't technically an answer to your question.

The most dino-looking creature I've ever laid my own eyes on:

Baby gannet. Wow! So ugly! You should see em before their down comes in!!! Paradoxically, so much skin on those skinny-ass bones! (I really, really wish I coulda found my pictures for you but you're gonna have to take my word for it lol) They sound pathetic too!

Other creatures I've been lucky enough to encounter that made me think "Fuck! Dinosaur!"

leatherback turtle (with person for scale idk who that is i found these pictures on a web search lol....and ok I've never actually seen a leatherback in the flesh but I've seen greens and dozens of different tortoises and terrapins and they're ALL dinosaury this gal's just the biggest)

Honorable mention for komodo dragon (which I have seen) and tuatara (which I sadly have not) esp. the latter for diverging from lizards something like 200+million years ago and PERSISTING. They don't call em living fossils for nothing.

So yeah. I don't know enough to have a fave but if you ask me there are still dinosaurs all around us 🦕🤗
