where's that tumblr post that's like, "people are being mad about blorbo's crimes and I'm not saying blorbo is blameless but they're not mad for the right reasons"
#mine musings#this is how i feel about genshin's dottore btw#like yeah he's a villain. but not in the way you think#and i mean i'll totally indulge in fanon dottore in fics/fanart idc about that but when we're talking about the actual game story? in canon#uhhh he's so far removed from his fanon self that the mischaracterization bleeds into mischaracterizing OTHERS like. scaramouche#which is ??? considering scara is one of the few genshin characters whose character arc and lore is more accessible and nuanced than most#like you don't have to dig through obscure item descriptions for his lore. IT'S RIGHT THERE IN THE ARCHON QUESTS!!!!#anyway dottore did crimes and is an interesting antagonist but for some reason what he's doing in canon is less interesting#than what fandom THINKS he did (which he didn't)#(of course scara has obscure hidden lore too like. the inazuma artifact descriptions. but generally you don't need them to understand scara
